For those wondering, the BF3 Open Beta is about 3.9GB.
(Currently downloading at ~530kbps... darn it!) Having a look at the Battlelog whilst waiting, it is certainly an interesting way of solving the initial issues of the BC2 server browser. Find a server, click it's name, then click the big "Join Server" button, which will quickly launch the game. Server searching is rather quick, and any filter you apply when searching is kept between sessions. The footer bar displays if a game needs to updated (or installed), or you are missing the Battlelog browser plugin, which launches BF3. It seems that future BF games will be making use of Battlelog. If you have played other BF games (such as BF1942, BF2, BF2142, and so on), these should show up in your Veteran status, and also unlocks dogtags which you can pick from (which can't be seen in the Open Beta, apparently).

As I just discovered the hard way, if you have an Nvidia card, you'll need driver version 285.27 and over for the game to run (note that the driver itself is also in beta as of writing).
What about the ATI/AMD cards? Do they have a minimum driver version requirement?
