Liverpool vs Inter is an other interesting one as well. I'm curious to see if Mancini's "dreadnaught" will manage to get past a CL finalist, or if they'll miserably fail again, hehe (since I do hate Inter, I hope Liverpool will soundly kick their butts).

Liverpool have a 42-year score to settle with Inter.

Back in 1965. The first leg, Liverpool won 3-1.

In the return leg, within 5 minutes, Inter led 1-0 thanks to a deflection. It was the second goal that still caused outrage to this day.

(If you can't stand the "Liverpool propaganda" then fast forward to 2:13 to see how Inter "scored" by kicking the ball off the Liverpool keeper's hands. )

What's incredible is the ref actually allowed that goal, Inter eventually won 3-0 and went through 4-3 on aggregate, and went on to win the European Cup that year.

Suspiciously, that ref retired for no reason after that match.

Benitez also has his own scores to settle with Inter, as his Valencia side were kicked out by Inter in the UCL in 2002/2003.

It's always good to be in a UCL draw.

What do you think? I feel it weird, I mean why Arsenal not MU, and feel like Wenger the one who wants it.
It is closer to his London home, thats why.

I'm hoping Inter Milan beat Liverpool. Manchester United have a tough game in Lyon, but we'll do it.

Manchester United have a easy draw compared to Arsenal and Liverpool, still good luck to Juninho Pernumbucano. I shall be looking forward to seeing your hope of Inter Milan winning dashed.

Inter just defeated Milan in the Seria A derby match, with a score of 2-1. Pretty even match, Inter only came victorious thanks to an other silly and rediculous mistake by Dida, Milan's goalkeeper. Damn it, I was hoping for Milan to finally stop Inter, but if things don't change during the season and Inter just keeps winning (or at least not losing) every match they'll secure the Scudetto this year as well. :|

I think Inter defence play well that night, btw it just me or it is Inter play 5 defender: Maicon - Materazzi - Cordoba - Chivu - Maxwell, or Chivu already become midfielder?, and they still have Zanetti in right wing, Kaka can't do anything that time.

About Dida, I think he expect for bouncing ball, he thought the ball will hit one of defender legs, that's why he move left.

o yeah, merry xmas, happy holiday and new year everyone in this soccer thread.

Merry Xmas guys!

Yeah Chivu was playing as midfielder rather than defender. Inter had 4 defenders, Chivu was the left wing, since Inter had a lot of injuried players who couldn't play (Figo, Solari, Vieira, Dacourt, Stankovic).

Actually I saw that match AC Milan vs Inter Milan, the ball curved, he was expecting it to go to his, Dida's, left, but it curved back to the right. It hit his foot a bit.

Still, Arsenal are back on TOP! Take that Man United fools! Losing against West Ham, God knows how Tevez must feel.

YO, yea it's been a while, never got back to the whole forums thingy.

Anyways, moving to topic, I met some new people during the classico match and the Inter vs AC and they had a bet going, for the Arsenal vs AC Milan game, not who scores, but on who will qualify. They were betting around $500! This is true football!

Too bad I couldn't get into the action :P

I've watched the match as well, but in my opinion Cambiasso's shot was soooo slow that it was impossibile not to predict in time where it could go. If Dida was smart (and he isn't) he would have made a step forward and stopped the ball in time before it would bounce on the pitch, since the shot was infact incredibly slow and low. He had all the sweet time to do that, but instead he chose to dive on a side trying to guess where the ball would go. Poor decision. It's no wonder that Milan's team is pissed off. Thank God I'm no Milan's supporter, having such a crazy goalkeeper is like having a double edged sword.

Ah, Megson. Nice to see he's brought his own brand of genius to a club that qualifyed for Europe last season.
You forgot Huddersfield 2-1 Birmingham, so 4 premiership teams lost to lower league opposition. Bad, Almost as bad a Liverpool.

At times like these, The Fiver is at it's best. In the rumours section;
"The American occupation of Liverpool will force Rafa Benitez to flee
Anfield. The Special One will be installed as their new puppet
leader."

Breaking News: Sam Allardyce has left Newcastle, and Arsenal and Spurs are having a 0-0 draw 6 mins into their Carling Cup Semi-Final 1st leg. Then again, it's the Carling Cup.
Edit: 1-1 draw, Jens Lehmann is finally leaving the club after a few months of not playing, and Alan Shearer has ruled out managing Newcastle
