Being rare isn't enough. I'm sure there's plenty of rare stuff that nobody's got a use for, and thus aren't worth anything.

The seed's probably magic or some shit, though.

If it's available in abundance through a short and safe trade route, it'll be a bit more expensive due to the limited sources. If it's a beautiful item from a location that is near unreachable due to extreme distance, deadly hazards and/or impassable barriers, then the impossibility of obtaining the item will make it potentially worth many times its weight in gold. I would guess that the faery kingdom is just such an isolated location, so things that are about as common as sand on a beach to them are worth a king's fortune elsewhere.
Hmm, it could also be forbidden for outsiders to get anything from the faerie land. Anyone who tries to get seed will be attacked by Guardian.

We saw the queen make a Guardian out of 1 seed. Maybe the seed given to Victoria have some special ability if it grows?
It seems really valuable, because she promised to pay for the crepes and any other crepes that the faeries would eat in future visits to the resto.

Did you not notice that I used the word "beautiful"? It's a flower, and frankly despite your skepticism from what I've heard rare flowers and such, even if they're ugly or make a stench that stretches acres away, still hold a very high value in the right markets simply because they are rare; if they're rare and exceptionally beautiful, they'll be quite valuable indeed. So no, I believe in a lot of cases being rare really is enough. If it's clearly distinct and unique, and near-impossible to obtain, this rarity will have a big impact on its value. But for a flower in the land of a people who resemble butterflies, live on nectar and hate anything bitter, I'm pretty sure it'll be a very nice-smelling flower, not to mention a rather lovely one judging from their homeland.

Do Japanese people really like natto? Seems nasty, like any fermented foods.

Some do, some don't. Like any food, and particularly strongly flavored/scented ones, it is not to everyone's taste.

Sticky, slimy, taste bitter & sometimes feeling disgusting eat it. Yet it's very nutritious & usually goes better with rice. Not everyone's favorite food, though.

I'm not sure what this episode was about.

Also, Kuro can speak. With her mouth.

This episode was about Kuro. Therefore it was a good episode.

And now I want a curry bun. I wonder where I can get one. If I end up having to make one myself, knowing how to make curry would probably be a good first step...

I'm wondering if/when the Siren kids will say to Alphonse, "Hey, you're the Chimera Killer!"

I thought sashimi was gonna be served when the siren couple asked for raw fish , but I guess carpccio is the way to go for a "Western Restaurant"

Watched episode 11:

If your restaurant has customers that can potentially do harm to you, a strong security guard is a good thing.. this episode shows why Kuro is important to the resto - because she can stop the Sirens from singing, and also threaten them not to do it again.

The curry bread they eaten looks really good. It's nice to see that they all eat dinner together when the day's work is over. The lonely dragon is not very lonely anymore.

And lastly, it seems the half elf that captured Lionel would be a customer on the final episode... well, Kuro will kick his ass if he makes trouble at the resto.

EDIT: After checking, I realized that the voice actor for Alphonse is Tachiki Fumihiko, the same as the voice actor for Akainu in One Piece. Well, it's just fitting since they're both navy admiral. They hired some high level voice acting for this show. O_O

According to this site, about half of Japanese people like natto.

I'm pretty sure they aren't supposed to be Sirens, but closer to Harpies.

Also carpaccio was originally done with beef tenderloin, so I'm assuming this one used tuna based on the color.

In Japanese restaurants, they usually serve seasoned salmon/tuna fillet slices for carpaccio - sometimes or usually in vinegar-based or citrus-based sauce like ponzu.

It was indeed tuna, as said by Master. I'd assumed he'd serve some sashimi or sushi to those sirens/harpies/angels, but then I remembered this was a western restaurant, so tuna carpaccio it is then.

Here's what I don't get about Kuro:

Her background tells us that she's on the moon because her power/aura causes lesser beings to die, so she isolated herself until the door appeared.

Why doesn't this power work when's she inside the restaurant then? The answer might be because she can suppress her power and hide her presence, as she said in this episode.

So, why doesn't she do this when she's out in the world? By doing so she could live anywhere and no one will be affected by her power.

It's also possible that their powers are limited when they're in human form, but we have no evidence of this yet. And so the question still remains..

Anyway, my way of enjoying this series is by eating whatever while watching. This time, I was eating McD's fried chicken while looking at that tuna carpaccio.

It's almost like I'm eating a gourmet meal myself

Fresh fish carpaccio was originally proposed by Japanese chef Signore Ochiai which led to Sashimi boom worldwide.

at the last week preview, I thought they are angel... but they are mentioned as siren.. even though they are closer to harpies... with dangerous singing ability

and I never expect those sirens are couple

I'm just happy to see my Kuro is shining for the whole episode
