He's pretty much a relic of the past. Ulqui's parents are part of the Spanish Inquisition (Ulquiaga is actually a Spanish surname) and because of "over-persecution of witches", they ended up jobless. Now, they are living in Musashi and currently has a business of made-to-order "bed fittings". (Sticks and stones may break my bones but chains and whips excite me Nanana Come on)

His skills have not yet been shown, but he is said to be a practitioner of Inquisition Abilities, which target particularly those who are heretics. However, the only person we know is a true heretic is none other than Galileo himself.

Yes, they officially become assistants to Futayo (Chancellor's board vice-president), there's even illustration or two of Futayo+Muneshige tag team in a battle.

Chapter 3
The next morning, Ulquiaga and the witeches are in the middle of some combat training above Musashi. Ulquiaga needs to improve his fighting ability if he wants to pass the Section II exams, and Margott and Malga are training to take the top spot in Musashi’s parcel delivery guild (earlier
shifts = more deliveries = more money, which is especially important for Margott’s spells), and while they’re at it, training for the Edelbrocken tester rights, which involve beating the current tester(s) in a battle of strength and speed. Ulquiaga is attempting to make a full circuit around Musashi without being hit, but ultimately fails to do so; understandably, since it’s 2-on-1, and his opponents specialize in guided sniping.
Chapter 4
Neito, accompanied by the mini-Cerberus, wait for Tomo under the bridge near the school. The fact that this is a popular spot for confessing to your crush adds more credibility to her assumption that Tomo got the hots for her, and Neito become increasingly uneasy at she waits. Neito wonders if Tomo wants her for her land and wealth (she is #2 in the Musashi line of succession), or if her motivation is simply for her body. After all, knowing her mother, Neito could very well…change shape in the future (this won’t happen though, for better or worse; her dad’s pretty scrawny apparently, and so she won’t develop like her mother).
Soon afterwards, Tomo finally arrives, and notices Neito’s acting a little strange. She’s pacing around, sniffing the air (since she smells breakfast), and is punching the bridge supports (out of panic and embarrassment). Being the perceptive and pure girl that she is, Tomo realizes Neito’s “marking” her territory, and promises her she won’t tell anyone. It’s only natural for a werewolf, after all. Neito protests, and so Tomo guesses she might have a fever instead. As she leans in to touch her forehead, Neito panics, and accidentally grabs Tomo’s cushions while stammering her way through a “sorry, but I can’t accept your feelings”. As if she’s got a 6th sense for these things, Malga shows up, has a severe nosebleed, and collapses.
While tending to her, Tomo apologizes for suddenly inviting Neito out all this way. Neito is still trying to recover when Tomo finally mentions starting a band, at which point Neito begins to feel somewhat foolish. Claiming it was a misunderstanding would require that she explain what exactly she misunderstood, and she can’t bring herself to say that out loud.
Since she practiced music from a young age (her father’s quite the music buff), and playing with her parents, the idea of starting a band doesn’t seem bad at all to Neito. Then comes the memories of what would always come after those family performances: hearing her father moaning and sobbing behind the bedroom door while her mother mocks him with baby talk and demands 10 more rounds. Anyway, the music part was fun at least.
Kimi finally arrives, and immediately shoots down Tomo’s proposal to start a band. Ever since Toori’s been coming to see P-01s, she’s been feeling a bit depressed and lonely, and trying to isolate herself from others. Tomo and especially Neito don’t handle the news well either considering Kimi only mentioned that he’s been “seeing another woman”.
The girls wonder just what sort of big event would cause Toori to suddenly change his behavior like that. It seems big events have a way of forcing people to overcome their peculiarities. Like if Toori declared war on the entire world, and everyone had to fight for their future. Hypothetically speaking, of course.
Still unaware of the misunderstanding, Tomo asks Kimi again about forming a band. Kimi agrees, under the condition that Tomo and Neito go on a date with her and “satisfy her”.
Back at Blue Thunder, Student Council President Torii is chats with Mrs. Aoi and Horizon. She remarks that Horizon’s cooking is outstandingly “average”.
Chapter 5
Kimi, Tomo and Neito are planning their date. Ohirokshiki is visibly upset over the fact that Tomo has never eaten ice cream before (“everyone loves ice cream, especially little girls!”), and Malga is equally disappointed, since that makes for a nice double-entendre when drawing doujinshi. Adele thinks to herself how much Neito’s changed since her violent “lone wolf” days, and Suzu is somewhat anxious; based on her parent’s “kids these days” –esque griping, “dates” aren’t pure and romantic like they used to be. Kimi teases Neito about her imaginary dates with “someone very special”. Meanwhile, “someone very special” is fast asleep at his desk towards the back of the classroom.
Chapter 6
Class ends, and the ambiguously gay trio begin their date. But first, Kimi takes it upon herself to name the Cerberus that’s grown so fond of Neito. She decided on “Toroko” (3 heads-> hangs out with a French girl -> “trois” ->Japanese pronunciation+ko”). Neito doesn’t seem to like the name much (“toroi” can mean slow or stupid) but the 3-headed aether pet in question seems to be rather fond of it. Neito asks why Kimi knew he would like it, and she reveals Shinto practitioners can talk to animals. Not proper conversations though, just the nuances. That would be ridiculous.
Anyway, Neshinbara passes by and offers his own terrible name suggestions, along with the suggestion that aether beings in the shape of local spirits like “Toroko” (they’re in KPA Italia, so Greece isn’t too far away) usually take form in order to warn someone of impending danger or even save them from it.
Meanwhile, “Musashi” is observing Adele and the other retainers training, when Tomo, Neito and Kimi walk past and chat for a bit. “Musashi” compares the girls’ behavior to her own idea of a date: serving someone tea while they lounge around and ramble on about pointless matters.
When Tomo brings up Sakai’s name, “Musashi” returns a cold stare, somewhere between her usual blank expression and “I will bury you”.
Chapter 7
Finally, the date begins in earnest at the Mt. Takao shrine. Tomo’s Shinto charm obsession begins to spiral out of control until she’s pulled back to reality by Kimi and Neito who agree to let her indulge herself a bit by praying at a Buddhist altar. Neito’s concerns over “Toroko” being accidentally purified turn into a discussion on how she’s spoiling him, which conjures up more memories of her parents. She would sometimes see her mother walk into her bedroom with a 2 sets of leashes and collars, and hear the muffled moans of her father. Business as usual in the Werewolf Queen’s household.
While praying at the altar, Kimi offers Tomo some special incense, meant to repel the advances and become effectively invisible to every man but the one the user holds dear. Tomo initially refuses, but eventually accepts. This will help her focus on what (or rather who) she might want, and allow her to sort out her own feelings.
Chapter 8
Margott sits atop a freight container and watches the other witches racing in the skies above, apparently distressed about the Edelbrocken test battle. In order to claim the tester position, she would have to fight and defeat an elder and close friend “Yamatsukaki” (Violettkamelie) for the top position, and she can’t gather up the courage and motivation to do so. The witch in question talks to Margott for a bit, trying to help her cheer up a bit, and discusses some of the other competitors out for the position.
Back to our heroines again, and Kimi’s lead them to a quiet, secluded area, where she asks Tomo to prove she’s serious about starting a band. A somewhat flustered Tomo protests, but eventually admits she’s come up with some lyrics for a song on the way home from the bathhouse last night. But Kimi stops her. That’s enough to assure her Tomo’s serious, but as she knows full well being a performer herself, one’s first creative effort is an important memory, and not for everyone else to see and hear.
So instead, she insists that Neito sing in her place, who reluctantly performs a song of her own (Banjou Bansei –Horizon Special CD 4). The lyrics to the song describe her acceptance of her past weaknesses and troubles, and a realization that she’s still not as brave or as strong as she wants to be. Tomo’s moved to tears by the song, since she knows a thing or two about what Neito’s been through, and is determined to express herself in the same way by writing a song that she can sing to everyone, but speaks to herself and handful of special people.
After a bit of taunting from Kimi, Neito becomes determined to put on a performance worthy of her King, and Tomo decides to take a closer look at her own feelings and how to express them. The volume closes as Margott drops by asking the girls for some help with her act’s choreography( Streiken Schreck - Special CD 3), and so the “date” continues.

It's not like Neito had no interest in music herself. On the contrary, her father taught her how to appreciate fine music, and even how to play some. As a child, she used to dance with her mother while he performed.

Being a werewolf, her her mother's emotions and excitement flowed between the three of them. It seems like it would sometimes work in reverse too, since she would occasionally mimic the then-young Neito's childish lisps and stutters. In fact, some nights she could hear her through the bedroom door.

"Aww, what's da matter, widdle man? Is dis what you wanted? Orr maybe dis? You're being a bwave liddle boy, so I'll let you go aftew just 10 rounds, okay? My,my, what a good widdle boy...fufu don't wowwy, if you can't hold it, I'll help you cwean up and start over, 'kay? Now wet's keep going. Round 3...round 3.1 ..."

Come to think of it, she often heard her father's high-pitched screams and sobbing too...Maybe the reverse feedback theory wasn't exactly right. And yet again, it dawned on Neito.

He would receive the Kamenuki, a spear-type Quasi-Divine Weapon from its original owner, Tadatsugu Sakai, on Volume 4A.

On an unrelated note, "Asakusa" will reveal in the same volume that she is armed with a gravity sword called Kirihiraki. It is a Mikawa-made gravity sword that is created exclusively for automatons, and has an adjustable blade length (from 60 cm to 2 m).

Quick question, who is stronger between muneshige and shibata katsui the guy who destroy futayo's weapon, they did fought right? I have been wanting to ask this question when I read the novel's summaries, apparently this shibata guy is really strong so I was wondering how he compare to the peerless man. Also what kind of weapon does shibata uses anyway.

I don't know the specifics, but it is said that the Five Great Peaks, Katsuie Shibata included, defeated every single member of Class 3-Plum except for Toori. And IIRC, none of the Five used the Divine Weapons they carry.

Katsuie is an archdemon, who is known for its very tough skin. He can take lots of damage with that kind of protection, and that skin of his acts as extra damage when used in physical attacks. (Take note that Makiko-sensei never hit the archdemon yakuza leader anywhere else; that's because it would only be useless against him.)

I don't think that he beats everyone, but he does against Muneshige, Futayo and Gin at the same time.

But then it seems that in v4 Katsuie loses his right arm fighting against most of class Plum during the battle of Novgorod (specifically Nate and Tenzou).
