Ahhhhh the 1 group subbing Major s5 says they aren't going to do HD releases anymore. I wish there were more groups interested in doing Major when it's such an awesome show.

quit being ungratefull as long as thy sub it you should be happy no reason 2 nitpick. plus im glad they aint gona bother it just mean the subs get done that much more quicker

I actually came close to tears in many aspects of episode 2's date.

It's literally been YEARS coming (as in REAL LIFE years... not to mention the story), and the idea of Goro pulling away from everyone was pretty palpable for a while now. And Shimizus (both siblings) putting it out there was actually pretty powerful for me. One of the best dating episodes I've seen in a while. Romance anime or not.

I love the opening theme for this season. And as far as that goes. Did they make a mistake by having him wear #25 at the start? He is seen putting on a #56 jersey for the Japan team later on and well that is his number in the America as well. You can mark it as a spoiler if needed.

I remember seeing that too, it would matter what team thats for, if its for the major league team and there was someone else on the team who was already 56 he would have to take a different number

Yeah. Just strange. He is wearing 25 on the apparent warmup team (blue jerseyes) and he has a 25 and 56 on the Japanese term jerseys at 2 different points. Not that it matters. The part with him wearing #25 looks like it may be a scene from the actual series later on instead of made just for the opening.

in the pros you can only have 25 players on the roster... assuming that wbc uses the same rules as the Olympics you can only use i believe up the #25 the number of players on your squad... so i guess its an obvious spoiler that goro is the last player selected on the team...

That is interesting. Didn't know about the number limit in the Olympics.

Goro is one cocky SOB... Leave it to "Ichiro" to show him some humility. Realistically speaking, he had to throw breaking balls before he could ever succeed in the Majors anyway.

I could watch the Shimizu siblings all day - those two are great side characters. I like the balance of baseball and personal drama so far this season.

hahaha yeah. I like how they have used Japans 3 biggest MLB stars to date so far. "Nomo" was fun to watch in ep 4.

But yeah for Goro to become the starter that he wants to be he is going to need to learn a good breaking ball. Hell he will probably need a third pitch at some point too. If he were to stay as a relief pitcher he could have success with just a fastball but it limits him.

Yeah, it was hilarious to see them use a TOTALLY different face for "Nomo", but that windup is 100% obvious. I just said 'wait, that's Nomo' when watching that.

Also, Gyro Fork? What a scary name for a scary pitch!

Very interesting, they finally decide to add in another pitch. I guess Goro has had second pitches before (S1, S3, S4) but I find it interesting that they seem to be adding one for real now, especially after the whole Sanchez thing. And a one pitch reliever wouldn't be impossible,especially one that throws 103 (Joel Zumaya) and can locate at 95/96, a one pitch starter would.

Well episode continues from the last, Toshi and Goro are still having a tiff about things. Toshi ends up throwing the ball straight into Goro's ass, which again causes some arguements. Toshi then realises that he tried to focus Goro too much on the fork ball, and that Goro is an emotional pitcher who pitches best with confidence, which is what he should be trying to do!

Toshi then aims the mitt inside the zone, which makes Goro happy. Kyoshiro then speaks to himself how although Goro has only a fastball, people can hit it indeed....however it'll only ever be singles, not homeruns. After afew pitches, Toshi gets goro to try and throw some pitches inside close to the batters head, which goro refuses to do due to his dad's death. Toshi is suprised thinking he was over it, but goro responds that he'll never do that, even quit before he had too. Goro then admitts that maybe they were too noobish to come ere with 1 pitch and a pitch he learned overnight, but instead of trying to beat them, they try and hold them off with everything they have. Itoa comes to bat then, with the 1st 2 pitches being hit, but breaking the bat. The third pitch again smashes the bat, however it's hit out towards the centre and we see the staium go crazy.

Goro then quits and leavs the camp, due to their being nochance for him to get into the side and he has spring training in america soon. It seems that afew players are happy that Goro has gone, but Itao states to them that they only managed to get 1 hit off Goro, which was a single from Kyoshiro, and that he himself broke his bat three times and flew off to centre. One of the players replies that it's because he didnt hit the sweet spot, to which he replies "thats the thing....i did hit the sweet spot"

Last part is Goro looking after Kaori while she's ill at home. He tells her that he's off to America in a day or two, and she understand. She says that he should leave and not catch her cold, which goro accepts and just walks off. She then begins to think if Goro even likes her, atwhich time Goro walks back in with a bag of fruit for her. While Goro is asleep on the floor Kaori is sitting on the bed watching Goro, she then tells him to go home and he tells her not untill her brother is home. Then just as he's about to leave the room to get someting for her, she tells him she's going to america!

how does Goro not make a friggin junior team?

he throws 100mph and is pitching at the AAA level in the states

japan is great at baseball and all, but this is kind of silly. Even if his pitch is flat as the ocean he'd still make some stupid juinor team

Join Date: Mar 2006	Spoiler for Episode 106: Episode was alright, kinda thought it was funny how Koari hadnt seen Goro in 2 weeks yet he was aranging a "date" with toshi - good to see Koari got some reaction from Goro tho...Goro then went on and challenged some MLB star, who knocked goro's legs from underneath him after his abuse of the old guy. Spoiler for Epside 107: Have only watched the raws so but got the jist of the matter. Goro was pitching to some batter, who seemed to be having abit of a mixed moment with goro's pitches. Most of the time he was hitting foul balls or to outfield, but had afew home runs too. I think he started to walk off then and goro i guess said something, due to the reaction from his dad. Then the rest of the youngsters arrive on the plane, and Goro and toshi go off in hiding again - and Goro nail's him with his new GyroFork - then goes on to tell him how he learned to throw one while at camp, with his deathgrip! but he's not perfected it and doesnt have 100% control over it yet... Episode starts with each team manager saying that, whoever wins is going to the world cup. Match starts and in the second innings All-japan scores 5 runs, then in the 3rd inning Goro finally comes onto the field. Someone speaks to Suguro about Goro and him helping him and Mayamura takes to look at Goro. Kyoshiro steps up to bat, and after afew swings notices that Goro has improved since they're last encounter. Toshi then calls for the Gyrofork, which flies overhead. Toshi calls for the Gyrofork afew more times, but it's not happening, with them going all over the place. Suguro sees the problem is with his timing/release, and Kyoshiro is dissappointed he hasnt improved that much. Toshi calls for the Gyrofork, which Goro ignores and goes for a fastball instead, which is hit for 2 runs. Toshiya runs out to ask whether or not Goro trusts his lead. Goro shoots back and says that he didn't realize Toshiya didn't trust his fastball that much. Toshi calls an inside ball, but Goro throws an outside.... Spoiler for Preview to 109: Preview shows that the arguements seem to be carrying on still, and seems that teammates are getting involved now too. Then a scene of Kaori, in bed and PJs and Goro leaning in...for a kiss? Spoiler for Thoughts: Kinda feel sorry for both Toshi and Goro. Goro is trying to go to the world cup, but feels that he can only do it with how he knows, beating the batter on speed.....but Toshi wants him to learn the Gyrofork which'll make him better against batters and unpradictable, but atm learning this throw isnt making Goro look good....causing some tension.
