I think that's mostly because mother of Learning doesn't have its own website/blog/whatever. If it had, it would probably be on that list.

This story has some stellar writing. I recommend it, though it does not fall into any of the trendy tropes that are usually sought here. But I think is good, I enjoy it quite a lot.

As for the Good Student's Reason: Spoiler: Short answer: I've paused my reading quite some time ago, but to answer your question: It is (obviously) a girl. Longer asnwer: He's the son of a maid (father died), and her employer happens to have a daughter around the same age. So when the maid came to work, she brought her son to play with the girl, and learn together with her when her private tutor came by. They're childhood friends. But of course... things are never what they seem to be.
