It makes sense that her El Cazador work comes apart from her usual work, regarding the Spanish influence that comes from the series theme.
As i said before, i highly look forward to the second soundtrack --- to see what else Kajiura is capable of, after a very interesting first installment.

Her next project is on the Kara no Kyoukai movies.
By the way as a random thought, wouldn't it be awesome if she composed a piece where all of the FictionJunction singers sang together? That would be cool. |

Just got info from her official site that she's having her first official live concert on April 5th at Shibuya-o West in Japan and the singers performing will be:
Kaida Yuriko (performed the vocal songs for Noir) FictionJuction Kaori FictionJuction Keiko FictionJuction Wakana I am curious as to how they will sound live. I really hope this concert will be released on DVD. By the way, no Yuuka in this one. But she will be in Kajiura's other joint concert with Sound Horizon on April 29th. |

A live of Kajiura eh? This should be interesting to see :3
Perchance that any of her instrumentals going to be played as well? I personally would love it if Mezame, Sei Otome no Inori, and Materialize were played, but if not, I could settle with those 4 available :3

It doesn't seem sold out yet if you look at the homepage of the venue... I've really no idea how popular she is here, but I suspect that anything could get sold out in Tokyo so I'm mnot holding my breath... Well, here's to hoping at least.

Does anyone know if there is a pure instrumental/karaoke track released for the song Canta Per Me on CD anywhere? I just watched a live performance of it by Eminence on YouTube and it's so mesmerizing without the music.

That should give you an idea of how Kaori will do live.

I've liked Kajiura Yuki tracks in general from My-HiME and the Tsubasa series. She's done some really amazing instrumentals and her songs in her various combinations (See-saw, YUUKA, Yui Makino) has been nothing short of excellent. I could not believe Yui Makino was singing Synchronicity - Yui Makino is usually rally good on the quiet songs but the Kajiura Yuki composition was fantastic.
Off topic but Kaori's live is SICK!!! I did not believe that such a superb live "pop" perfermer existed in this modern age of digital voice editing for CDs. The "Tsubasa" song from FictionJuntion KAORI (composed by Kajiura Yuki so on topic ) doesn't do Kaori's ability justice at all! |

Both of those songs are beautiful! Tsubasa was not that great of a song. As for Yui Makino, am I the only one that thinks her singing isn't that great?

Bump.
Any opinions on her duet with Revo in Dream Port? Well, I think it was a great duet, due to the excellent guitar but also that flute was extraordinary (in sand dream). The first song is a bit slow, but has some parts which are really enjoyable. I still think that the second song it's more lively than the second one, and if I'm wrong, it could be that I like slow-progressive songs, but it's just that the voices are perfect for the melody. So, my rating of Dream Port is 7/10.

It's criminal that no one has mentioned the awesomeness that is the Yuki Kajiura Live Vol #2 DVD.
Oh.my.freaking.god. I have never seen a live event where every single note is sung exactly the way its meant to be. Everything was just so lush. I've so far decided that my favourite vocalists that appeared are, in order: WAKANA, KAORI, KEIKO, Kaida Yuriko and the Itou Eri a fair way back. Has any one else seen the DVD? |

I have bought the DVD and it is godly! My favorites are Kaori, Keiko, Wakana, Itou Eri, and Yuriko. I thought most of the songs were spot on and the rearranges were a nice surprise but several of the songs were different from the CD versions such as A Song of Storm and Fire where the background choruses were short and abrupt. It still sounded nice though. I cannot wait until Vol.3 DVD!
