When they went to the cheaper place to buy bikes, and Ami was fixated on one, I totally expected it to fall to pieces the instant she touched it. Forunately, aside from her pratfall near the beginning, it looks like this series isn't really built on cheap gags of that sort.

...40km bike ride is an easy ride? Well, I guess by some definitions... Not something I would subject a casual biker to, though.

Getting carried away by the feeling and pushing at an unsustainable pace... yeah, that's easy to do. Not limited to biking either. Hiking, running, all sorts of physical activities where you need to pace yourself over a long distance have that risk. And unfortunately, the most effective way to teach a newbie about it is to have them experience it for themselves.

Also going biking without having eaten breakfast (and without having slept!)... I can understand her concern about exercise on a full stomach, but if you don't have fuel your body's going to crash. When I used to bike more often myself, the rule of thumb for going on bike path rides and such was to always bring water and energy bars or similar such things. If you don't need them that's great, but if you do, you really don't want to not have them.

This episode is pretty simple and relaxing. Just a girl learning about biking, enjoying herself, and meeting friends.

It was okay I guess, not as crazy as Bakuon and we got bikes rather than motorcycles. Oh wait, Ami named her bike.

Rather than Bakuon, this reminded me of K-on in a positive way. Definitely the best just-feel-good-and-calm anime so far. Also plus points for Touyama Nao!

Ep 01

Well, I kinda wished they had eased into the story a little less abruptly (at least that was how it felt to me), but overall I did not think it bad at all. Nothing earth shattering, but it seems a pleasant watch. Will give the next so a try, methinks.

That was a bit different from what I expected. I figured it would be fan servicy (like Bakuon), but it was rather slice-of-lifey. The animation quality was also higher than I expected, with the exception of the cg bits, which looked almost Minecraft-like at times (fortunately there wasn't really much cg).

Some guy on the Reddit thread likened the cast to K-On!, and uh, it's kinda interesting if you start watching it with that in mind. There is a "Gita" moment and even a "Ui" character showing up. Not to mention the mc's friend looks the spitting image of Mio.

Overall I don't think it was brilliant, but I'll definitely try the next episode.

Had the same reaction at Ami at the prices, I knew serious bikes were pricey, but yea.

I half expected Ami's bike she picked to start talking lol. Bakuon on the mind.

Episode 1

This was kinda okay I guess. The characters didn't feel that fun so far. Ami was okay, Aoi was okay, the big boob girl was okay, the little blonde girl was nice. Kinda okay everyone. Maybe I'll come to like them a bit more but so far, not so much.

Ami is taking up cycling and she was so excited that she named her bike, didn't sleep enough, didn't have breakfast, and ended up almost passing out. The little girl was nice as she helped them out. Ami is interested in cycling but isn't interested in all the aftereffects and fatigue that accompany it.

The episode was okay but didn't leave any impact. I'm not sure whether to continue or not. The characters will get properly introduced next week but this episode was only okay and nothing more. It might end up not making the cut.

It is ok, but feels more like a sunday show. Kind of makes me want to buy a new bike, then i remember it would be either vandalised or stolen again...
I never knew that giant bikes are popular in japan.

Not a fan of "Show X is just K-On with blah blah blah" statements, but I do have to admit the scene in the bike shop with the prices did remind me of Yui buying her guitar. But no rich friend who's father owns the store to knock the prices down in this show!

Actually, I quite liked this. I'm getting to the point where I'm more picky about what I decide to watch, but so far this one makes the cut.
Look forward to seeing more of lilac-haired girl!

Eh. Can't say I cared much about first episode. Will give a second episode try, but there's a good number of other series coming out on saturdays, so it's a main candidate for drop so far.

When Tōyama Nao goes into what I call her genki-mode it's just so much fun to listen to.

Coincidentally Hikasa Yōko's having a role in this anime.

Episode 1 of this was very nice!

Nice, cheerful, and relaxing, with just the right amount of conflict for the lead girl Ami.

There's definitely similarities between this show and K-On! and Bakuon!!, and it's all good. The similarities just provide comforting familiarity, instead of feeling overdone, in my opinion. Aoi looks a lot like Mio, but she also seems more easygoing than Mio to me, and that's a notable character difference. Ami is certainly a lot like Yui and Hane.

While the similarities to K-On! and Bakuon!! are very clear, I also see some subtle Love Live! inspiration. The BGM so far gives me a Love Live feel, though on the softer side of LL's OSTs. And then there's this amusing store:

So nice to see Alpacas again!

Anyway, this show looks like a keeper to me. Having at least one show like this one adds a lot to an anime season for me.

Finally watched the first ep. So far very calm and slice of lifey Totally my thing to watch to relax a little.

I totally expected the bike to fall apart but I guess even if it is not a pro bike, is still a good one for a beginner (I haven't ridden a bike for like 15 years or so, so I don't know how much does a bike cost nowadays )

Even so... aren't 40km too many for a beginner? As I said, I haven't ridden for quite a while, but I remember starting with 10 or 15...

Episode 2

This episode felt really refreshing tbh. Riding near the sea, enjoying the mountain view, and eating seafood.

Nice. I liked the pacing of the episode combined with the bike riding. Episode made me kinda hungry and somewhat tired (after seeing all that bike riding). ED card:
