Shakugan no Shana II - Episode 1 Discussion / Poll

Personally, I was fine with the concept of flashbacks and the story they were trying to tell with it. My gripe is that that was almost the entirety of the episode. The flaw was not in the concept, but rather the execution.
Also, it's really annoying when you've figured out what's going on and the main character still has ten minutes of bumbling remaining before the story can progress.

I think if I were dubbing it I would go with "if it pleases you" as the closest approximation of what she doing. It's an archaic deferential expression.

Man, they're fortunate that Yuji is a jerk and never says anything back to girls who profess their love for him, because pulling that "I didn't hear what you said" thing wouldn't have worked had he been decent and actually said something in response to Shana at the end of Season 1, haha XD

Raises the dead with my thoughts on this episode, Liked the opening theme song. This was a very interesting episode. the reset is a set back, but if as people have said it helps it get back on track with the original story, then that's pretty cool.

This episode definitely had a "boss rematch" theme that one usually finds in video games (especially Mega Man ones). The first time seeing Joint was so memorable, such a great song.

Hmm, honestly for a second I thought "OMG Shana has an endless eight arc, and no told me about it, or raged about it" . Then the bell thing, and people acting strangely started, so it became clear that wasn't the case, so made it a rather interesting start to second season, plus Shana being sooo tsundere about Yuji asking what she said, when at really said I love you, was rather adorable .

I preferred Triangle[the ED] personally; which odd since for the first season I liked both OPs much more than the EDs. Though that's not to say Joint is bad either xD.

First time I started watching SnS second I though and wanted this to be a season where Yuji and Shana get somekind of relationship, of course in that moment I didn't even know what tsun-dere means (Synonym: Shana)

At that moment I didn't know what bothered me more. Shana denying her feelings, Yuji asking himselft what did she said... or believing that she said "I know respect you more"
It's like trying to choose one out of the three stooges

It would have to be Yuji asking himself what did Shana say! I just couldn't stand it when he was that close to Shana before the ending of the first season!! Ahhh! Curses!

I support you Archon_Wing.... Now that I think about it, what caused Yuji to not hear Shana clearly again? The rustling noise? Or was he just thinking too much that he completely couldn't hear her clearly then?

I'd rather not justify it, but Yuji's umm very thick when it comes to that kind of thing.

That's true... Well nothing can be done about it, especially since I'm used to male leads not getting a clue about that thing till it comes right in their face, or someone else helps them

The ending of season 1 fits with the proverb "live every day as the last one", as Shana though she were dying so she decided to reveal her feelings... then everything got fixed and well, she forgot it
Lesson: Put the tsunderes on death danger to listen to their feelings and clean you ears before it <-<

It was probably to Shana's advantage that he forgot what she said yes? She was not ready to fully tell or express her feelings for him yet.

She totally was! At least at the end of season 1. But I guess thinking you're about to die and coming up with last words could change things.

Besides, it would have been funny.

It defiantly would have brought some fun situations if he did remember but like you said, you think your going to die and you just want to say your last words to the person who you want to say it to the most.

You got a point there. Kissing Yuji would have been a good way to say goodbye, but saying 'I love you' doesn't really matters because you are going to dissapear in 3..2..1...*boom*
