As for Anisette,

she apparently has a far better singing voice than her sister, but idolizes Edy so much she wants to imitate her. Avan strongly warns against this.

I don't mind her voice, though, and her tsun moments are often HNNNG/laugh/both-worthy. She's high on my list of favorite characters. Can't beat the Darcsens, though, can't beat the Darcsens.

As far as characters go, there were only three I really liked - Reiner, Helmut, and Franca. Franca definitely comes in at third, but I have a hard time choosing between Reiner and Helmut for who's number one, so they switch back and forth.

Sofia had potential until her final classmate scene, which is just absolutely terrible and horribly offensive. Disregarding that scene (and a few other glaring moments, if I remember right), I'll give her fourth.

Most of the other characters I didn't find particularly interesting.

Ramona is still my favorite character in the VC series.

Well, if you wanted to, DC20, you could always re-imagine Sophia's reasons for hating men.

If I were to re-write her personal events, I'd have it so that Sophia's "date" brought her to a secluded area, had a group of his friends meet with him there, and then they "took turns" with Sophia.

That'd certainly be a nasty way to re-imagine her reasons, huh?

And wait, you didn't find Alexis interesting? She's got such nice similarities to Marina...

I don't find Marina interesting either, to be honest, at least in her game incarnation.

As for Sophia

I have no problem whatsoever with her reason for hating men. My problem is what makes her STOP hating men - a guy hitting her (which is abuse right there) and saying, "you're gorgeous." Really? All my problems are solved by a man telling me I'm pretty? And then she instantly falls hopelessly in love with him? Fuck that.

How awesome it would be to have Jane Turner in the same room with Helmut! I can only imagine the GLARES she'd give him :P Her love of killing Imperials and poor helmut being one.

Or Marion and Salinas dicussing their love of tanks :P I think they'd get along JUST fine :P Haha, how about Wendy Cheslock and Melissa Dalen sitting across from eachother at a table and exchanging snickers and chuckles and that being their only form of communication :P

Touche. Well, I have an idea on how that scene could be altered too, one I think you might enjoy.

When the transfer student comes to Lanseal, he approaches Sophia and tries to blackmail her (i.e. with embarrassing photos) into "pleasuring" him. Sophia, however, has other plans, and tricks Avan into helping her beat up the transfer student (and several others who are with him). After the fight, Avan is shocked to see Sophia (whose emotional state is in shambles at the moment) about to shoot the transfer student with a live pistol (not a practice gun), and hits her when she's about to pull the trigger. Avan does his best to convince Sophia to put the gun down and let the transfer student go. Sophia, however, doesn't completely agree with Avan's words; she shoots at the transfer student, but intentionally misses, simply scaring the living daylights out of him. Sophia takes to Avan's advice, deciding not to seek revenge over the past. As Sophia walks away, however, the transfer student tries to shoot her in the back; Avan intervenes and knocks him out.

In the aftermath, Sophia gets a week in solitary for discharging a live firearm at another cadet, but the transfer student is expelled for attempting to kill Sophia. Because Avan had saved her life (in more than one sense), Sophia develops a crush on him.

This is just a rough idea. Tell me what you think.

Er, I think you mis-interpret that.

What Avan did was to slap her because he saw her using her looks to lure and later dump the Lanseal boys as unforgivable. He said that she didn't need the acknowledgements from others that she is beautiful, as he truly believed that she had beauty within herself, regardless of her looks. Soph was attracted to him simply because he's the first guy who said that she's beautiful without caring two hoots about her looks.

And yeah, Avan irks a lot of players. I think as fanfic writers, we owe it to the players to... adjust his character for the better. Maybe make him a bit less of a hot-blooded moron and maybe portray him as more reckless (instead of plain stupid).

I played the "undub" version. Yoshino Hiroyuki was good as Avan, that is all. As for his stupidity, well...

I disagree with that interpretation of Sophia's ending:

First off, whichever interpretation you look at and ultimately choose to believe, Avan hitting her in itself is wrong. Now, I'm of the opinion that if you get to the point where you can justify hitting somebody their sex is irrelevant. I wouldn't condone hitting anybody in that situation. However, the fact that the scene is pretty sexually charged in the first place brings about the idea of Avan "putting her in her place." She DID need to be brought down from her high horse, but striking her takes the scene in a direction I don't think was intended.

As for Avan commenting on her inner beauty instead of her outer beauty, that may have been the intent, but I don't think that, if it was the intent, it was portrayed very well. The exact dialogue Avan uses in the scene is, "Someday a guy is gonna fall hard for you. I mean, look at you. You're gorgeous!"

Nowhere in the scene (or ANY of her scenes) is there ever any mention of any of her beautiful internal qualities (and really, none of them are ever shown even in subtext - the scene where she attempts to seduce Welkin - who she knows is a married man - for example, is very telling of her character [or lack therof]). I didn't see anywhere where Avan told her that she didn't need acknowledgments of beauty from others because she had beauty within herself. Could you point that out for me? Literally the only thing he tells her about beauty is the line I posted above.

I don't think that line is talking about inner beauty, either. For one, the "look at you" seems to be more focused on actually looking with eyes, and the term "gorgeous" is more often than not associated with a physical aesthetics, not an internal one. If the intent was in fact to have Avon tell her that she was internally beautiful, they did a very piss poor job of portraying that - in fact, they outright failed.

Hitting women or men is not just right. I think it is better if Avan just scolds her for being so bitter about men and shows her what his mother said something about the respect for both genders. Or... he could say something is positive about himself as a good guy. That will make her to realize of what good man is.

I don't know what good idea is for Sofia but it'll be more interesting to read something like that.

Helmut and Zeri seemingly hated each other, so I can imagine something like this:

This morning as Helmut was buttoned his shirt, a button fell off. Zeri laughs.

After that, Zeri picked up his briefcase, and the handle fell off. Helmut laughs.

Then Helmut went to open the door, and the doorknob fell off. Zeri laughs.

Helmut went to get into his car, and the door handle came off in his hand. Zeri laughs.

Now Helmut is afraid to pee. Next, I wonder, what Zeri is afraid of something?

Yeah, don't mind me. I'm naughty. I like to pick on Helmut 'cause he's my favorite one. :P

Ok, I was going more towards extrapolating from Avan's usual behaviour, but yeah. Still, that potential change wasn't really the best one I've seen. Coleen needs to do her personal mission asap.

Avan does stupid things, and he says stupid things. But, I always believed that he starts out with the best intentions, and at least he doesn't let others corrupt that will into something else, which is what I cannot say for Leon and others throughout the VC timeline.

See how much different between 1st grade missions and 2nd grade missions... In my opinion, each mission should have one credit per instead of two or more credits. Now look at August to December, all four credits in one mission that would be difficult to gain credits if it is completely random drops. Look at January mission. It is so easy to get one credit or a few. But someone told me that they probably didn't test it first before sell VC2 games to those fans...

Thoughts, anybody?

It's not just the credits. Even the materials required for crafting are quite random even though the types of materials found in each map type are rather easy to figure out.

Just finished the month of June and all the stories and missions that go with it and... Is Cosette REALLY colorblind o_O like... 24/7 or just when she sees blood she loses the ability to see color?? I don't get it?

That... well, puts me in a bit of a pickle if she's always been colorblind, kinda messes up one of my fanfic scenes. But, I'm glad I found this out, I'll just have to replace her with someone else with a sense of fashion and color... but who?

I'd guess all the time. After all, remember two scenes: first, when Aliasse kicks the soccer ball into Avan's face, she can't initially tell there's blood on it. Second, when Avan comes to her room and sees that it's... completely outrageous in terms of color. Those are good hints.

I'm all the way to August *just started* and I've spent alot of time leveling people up... kind of annoying really... that and the way you have to level people up to higher levels *Armoured tech - Fencer - Elite Fencer or Mauler* IS ANNOYING!!! AW MAN I hate it so much!!

Wasn't like VC1 where everyone automatically got awesome weapons once they reached a certain point. This far in and I've still got people in their starting classes and not yet Vets :*(

-Some other thoughts so far; Anisette, your voice is growing on me!! I thought it was worse than Edy and hurt my ears... now... it's adorable! Oh and Avan... I still hate you! And your laugh that irks me SO bad even still!! BAH!
