Please send me (via PM) what you would make as the opening post for this thread if allowed. I want to see it first before giving you an answer.

The friendship thread works for the other, as long as you are not planning on pointing the finger at any of our members.

I'm not a mod, but almost all of the manga forum threads are about a single official work or doujinshi, and more random, subject-based treads just don't fit there. I usually finds myself highly displeased when the already overtaxed first page real estate is taken by a stu-, a speculative thread [see the thread in the feedback forum for details].

It will not get much response there in any case. The members seem to prefer using the General Anime thread for this sort of speculative discussion.

...however, I think a "Post Your Weeaboo Chuunibyou HERE" thread is, frankly, embarrassing. No, you don't write a bloody manga, not even if you call your main character Akira and he's a ninja, you write a story, Akira the Ninpanda Master. Maybe you draw it too, like a comic, and if it's on the web, it's webcomic. Get lucky or just very good, and Hark! you're a popular webcomic artist. Still not mangaka.

Is there a website or software that can show the meaning of every vocabulary in electronic novels/articles? I am a foreigner and reading English novels is difficult for me. But I would like to try. I have seen this on some website. When reading any article, you can just highlight the vocabulary, and the meaning of the word will show up in a pop-up window or something like that. Thanks.

If you're running a browser like Firefox or Chrome, you should be able to find an add-on that allows you to search words for meaning. I know standard Firefox allows you to automatically run a Wikipedia search on highlighted text, not that that's too useful. Search "Dictionary" in add-ons for your browser and you should come up with something useful.

Yes, I am running on firefox. Now I have a problem. Most of electrical articles/novels are in pdf format. Should I try to open them in Firefox, and more importantly, how to open pdf files directly in firefox (without downloading it) or is there some other way around this? I save my pdf in my computer.

If you're using Mac OS X then this feature is built into the operating system, although it may not be enabled by default. Go to the Trackpad settings and look at the gestures - there's an option for a "three finger tap" that will bring up the definition of the word that was tapped on. It seems that the application needs to support the gesture to work, so it doesn't work in every single application.

I also have a website that may be helpful for you. Depending on the material that you're reading, some slang terms or phrases may be used that won't be found in a dictionary. In those cases, I suggest using the Urban Dictionary. It's a "dictionary" made up of user-submitted content. Even though I'm a native English speaker, I've had to reference it on a few occasions to fully understand what some people were talking about.

This is even easier. If you open a pdf in Firefox (which should happen by default in most cases if you're getting it off the internet) then you can highlight any word, right-click, and select "look up [word]." Automatically opens a new tab to dictionary.com.

I am running on windows 7. I found this addon that allows just pointing to the word, shift + right click and the definition pops up in a small window. No highlight, no second command necessary, probably even works offline. I think it is important to me who has to look up like at least 60% of all vocabulary on any page in a novel. Three steps!? Too many. Also, I probably wouldn't need Urban dictionary at the moment as I am still on the basic level, trying to learn some basic vocabulary. And I really don't see that many slang or phrase that often anyway. I guess it depends on the books you choose. By the way, I am trying to read "the postman" by David Brin. Thanks.

No it isn't. You can't prove it. Stop spreading false information.

Slam Dunk never had any yaoi or bara fandom.

^ if you add only the numbers up, you'll get 495.
if you put them into ABC, you'll get 4=d, 9=i, 5=e.

so what i came up with was "DIE"

anyways, that was just a wild guess from me and it's might not even be the code.
