Most girls who are "hot" and know it are completely obsessed over it. They are just vain. IMO a girl who defines herself almost purely by looks is far too one-dimensional.
Of course, this isn't to say that "cute" girls aren't vain. But usually they have some other aspects going for them intelligence, personality, outlook, etc. because they didn't completely rely on looks for their entire lives.

Cute appeals to me a whole lot more than hot. Hot to me implies tons of makeup and a fake appearance, as well as a fake attitude. Cute is softer and easier to get to know. Hot is almost a synonym for ugly in my book.

I admit I voted "cute" too, for all the reasons that have been said. Cool is great too. But why isn't anyone talking about "fun"? I mean, I find humourus and funny girls cute and hot and cool at the same time!
Even if they're not especially physically attractive, I've always been attracted by girls or a women who make me laugh. What about you all?

I'll have to say cute. Although a nice figure is a plus (I'm a leg man, man), cute strikes me as more important. Attractiveness should begin with the face, anyway, as that's the part that's more emotional. Added cuteness just makes one feel warm inside.

I remember a large discussion thread about this in another forum I frequent, with the third choice as beauty. It pretty much had the same points discussed here.
I believe the end result was somewhat of a landslide. Beauty > Cuteness > Hotness. In fact, that was my own ideal order. With the lack of Beauty for a choice here, I went with Cute.

If you think the difference you've set up by some arbitrary contrast between two words with equally arbitrary meanings somehow models a profound philosophical insight into your aesthetic preferences. . . Well, my point is, in a long-winded fashion: Who cares? |

Give me hotness over cuteness any day.
Seriously, the difference I'd make between the two is of spine and spirit. Cuteness usually goes along with a gentle softness, or kindness if you have to. Hotness usually implicates a higher degree of independence and self-confidence. Tsunderes over moeblobs. Definitely. I want the challenge. |
