Well, that wasn't bad. The dialogues are understandable for the most part though you have to read the subs to comprehend the transition between scenes from the writting point of course. Everything seems to set up well and while the characterization was pretty vague, there's some interesting moments, especially the part when mysterious missiles is about to shoot the city due to the Martian invasion. What's strange however is that Inaho is good at predictions even if he wasn't a Gary Stu. I didn't expect his friends to be students in a military school (I have the same impressions about the main cast from M3), I thought they live in a normal high school like I thought. I'm speculating the next episode will have actual mecha fighting as well the encounter between Inaho and the Martians, that might be a surprise.

What did New Orleans ever do to Urobuchi?

The first episode isn't quite as good as Tokyo Ghoul, but it blows away everything else that's premiered so far. I imagine the people responsible for Argevollen are crying themselves to sleep right now.

There are a number of things in the episode that are too obvious -- funny how we didn't see the face of the girl who got blown up, almost as though she were a decoy and the real princess survived; and gee, I wonder if the assassins might be working for an evil faction in the Martian government? Urobuchi's involvement gives me hope that the story won't be that obvious, but only time will tell.

I saw a raw. So I was lost, save for a few things. That hyper gate didn't look man made...shame about the lack of mecha. But the ending seems to set things in motion. Not bad.

I also had a similar thought Also, if you blew a chunk of the Moon off like that you'd mess up the tide levels so bad I'm not sure how New Orleans would even be habitual to begin with (NOLA is partially below sea level - that's one of the reasons Katrina caused such a problem) . Still, I was left wondering if Katrina didn't happen in this timeline? I find that a interesting idea if it didn't happen.

I don't think the Princess is really dead either. It also screams decoy to me, though it's possible the Princess is in big trouble because she might have been in one of the escort vehicles and those got pretty banged up as well. As for originality, I'm not sold on Urobuchi not being someone to go with a very obvious idea, if he has something else in mind that isn't obvious later. Plus I don't care if a show is obvious if it's executed well and/or doesn't get so obvious it becomes a slog to watch.

Ancient Martian technology apparently; human Martians hording it all to themselves and being all elitist and racist about it.

Two course; so the first 12 on repelling the Earth invasion, and the second half on invading Mars. Perhaps.

It did strike me that the big motorcade would be a decoy and they'd maybe smuggle the princess in disguise some other way to flush out any attackers. But we shall see.

I guess if most of the moon's mass is still up there it might not have too large an effect on tides. But that shot of the wrecked moon was certainly impressive!

This one looks interesting.
Story sounds intriguing.
The whole Earth-Mars-Vers thing has a lot of possibilities.
Hope they will make the story deeper & wider.
It could go in any direction.
The foundations have been laid.
The real start of the story was awesome!
The action has arrived.
I might give this one a few more episodes.

Wow, I really loved this. There were some usual mecha tropes such as Princess Pacifist and the blond Char-clone, and it looks like even a version of Zeon showed up as well, but other than that, this was a really nice breath of fresh air.

We have two main characters, one who has heart but is pretty much enslaved to the Vers yet is in love with the Princess. Slaine seems like a nice, strong, smart guy and you both like him and feel sorry for him which is great for a main character.

As for Nao, i really like him too despite his dispassion for pretty much everything and his over analytic mind. Both Nao and Slaine seem a little over analytic, but Slaine shows a lot more emotions than his Japanese co-MC.

As for the plot we have Mars that is made up of people of Earth as well as a group called the Vers who used to be human eons ago but are pretty much aliens now. And the Vers Empire is at war with the Earth because Vers wants to take over the Earth? However their war cause the space bridge to be destroyed and thus the moon to break into pieces. I like how here they acknowledge the world-wide devastation the destruction of the moon would cause. And yet, I do question who the Japan still exists anymore considering the changes in the waters and the changes that would have to the geographic masses considering Japan already has tons of problems with earthquakes and tsunamis as it is. And, I'm sorry, but I think New Orleans too would have a bit of a problem, but that place has pretty much been blown to bits by the end of this, so I guess it doesn't matter anymore.

I like the supporting characters of the schoolmates, the elder sister, and the lieutenant. The attack on Princess Pacifist was rather obvious and telegraphed, including the fact that it would be her own people who were the cause. However, we all know she isn't dead so we'll just have to wait and see when she pops up again. All the other counts are basically going to be fighting for the throne while using the Earth as a battleground. Neither MC has gotten their own mech yet (which is surprising and refreshing for a mech show) but it's only a matter of time.

This had all the spectacle and freshness than Argevollen didn't and I'm excited for what is to come. The music is excellent, the visuals are awesome, and the story looks good so far. I'm liking this all around.

That was one thing I was wondering too. They actually do mention all the problem that would happen with destroying the moon actually did happen, such as the shifting gravity of the moon causing he destruction of the land, as well as earthquakes, tsunamis, etc., but then you would think that many places on the coast of America, Europe, and other continents would now be underwater or broken apart, also would Japan even still be there considering it's position? I know they mention some places in Japan look really bad, but I would think the whole archipelago or at least most of it would be gone.

Nice animations, interesting mecha's, characters are interesting (but have such silly names), the war kind of typical.

Overall I thought this was a nice episode, much more interesting than the other mecha's out now, and I'm interested as to how this story will plan out.

Defiantly will be eagerly waiting for the next episode on this. Interested on others thoughts on this as well as any mishaps they may have done ^^^

I kind of hope the below does not happen, too many of that has happened so far ;-;

Little Terran boy will defect
Princess will be alive by some special power
Princess will give powerful space mecha tech to earthlings
Both the Terran boy and the earthling boy will be buddies <3
