Last time they had mini-Ika I was expecting to see her on Ika's shoulder in the credits. This did one better I suppose.

I visited Kamakura on my first Japan trip - Hakone too - and went inside the Daibutsu. I definitely LOL'd at that, and it pretty much answers the question of where the series is set.

The first two segments of ep 6 felt a bit off, but the third segment wins season 2!

Isn't that why he loves her? I know that's why she's my favorite character.

Oh my goodness, mini Ika-Musume is so cute having such a grand adventure just outside her house. Aww.

Ahh, to experience Ika again, such a joy and a privilege.

The mini-Ika segment alone could have been an award-winning short. The part where she used the flower as a dress in particular was so cute I could have died on the spot. Too damn adorable.

I wouldn't be surprised if they made flower-dress Ika-tan as a Nendoroid Petit someday.

I honestly don't see much deal with mini-Ika. I mean the segment is cute but nothing more. By the look of it, if they made a DVD containing only the segments of Mini-ika that lasts 10 minutes long charging $20, it'd sell like hotcakes. I don't understand people sometimes.

I thought episode 06 were not bad but nothing special. Still there were some moments of worthy of chuckle and relaxing slice-of-life. The first segment is probably my favourite in this week.

Weapons grade cute. It turns people effected by it into copies of Sanae. Right down to the joy of being slapped or throttled by Ika.

The way I interpreted that last scene was that the mini-ika segment was actually a Goro-dreaming-of-himself-as-mini-ika segment

Another thing about the mini-ika segments is that they have a sort of retro appeal to them. Something about telling simple stories using only animation and soundtrack with no dialogue gives off an old-school wholesome feeling that bolsters the superficial cuteness appeal.

Someone should make a gif of that scene posthaste.

I can attest to that. I find the simplicity very charming, the lack of dialogue is a large part of what makes them work so well as stand-alone shorts. Just like a lot of cartoons; except a whole lot cuter. And that's all they need to be, cute and simple stories. They're not the crux of the show, after all, just a nice little something-something to enjoy once in a while.

I'm not a figurine collector, but damn, that might just make me take the plunge.

I get you and thanks for the explanation. Here I am thinking that the segment was gimmicky. Well I guess I'm only holding grudge because everytime this sort of segment is included, two other segments are overshadowed unless they are extremely funny. While I understand, these jokes were not as strong as the first season, I like that the creators managed to be still consistent, playful and lively. If the segment with mini-Ika has positive feedback, she will be definitely back for more.
