I thought Spring 2013 was seriously stacked(Flowers of Evil, Chihayafuru 2, Gargantia, My Teenage Romantic Comedy Snafu, Oreimo 2, Severing Crime Edge).

Summer was ok, Fall was downright craptastic and winter 2013/2014 doesn't look too good either. Has Japan finally run out of steam?

Well, summer give us Love Lab and Sunday without God, so not a total dissapointment, and fall gave us at least Gingitsune, so even tough they were plagued by bad shows, there are a few saving graces.

P.S: Oreimo 2? ...

Kyousogiga, little busters refrain, white album 2 and gingitsune were all strong series for me and a fair number of other people in the forums here from the fall 2013 season (and nagi no asakura, though it is still ongoing this season).

So for me last season was quite nice.

I've actually been impressed with the sheer depth of quality anime over the past few seasons.

While 2013 had no shows that wowed me to the degree that Madoka Magica or Steins;Gate did, the year had an awful lot of very good, very solid anime shows. Fall 2013 was the first anime season since Spring 2011 in which I dropped some shows simply because I didn't have time to follow everything that I was enjoying (so I had to make some hard choices).

Kill La Kill, Nagi no Asukara, Little Busters Refrain, White Album 2, Tokyo Ravens, Arpeggio of Blue Steel... Fall 2013 was pretty strong and diverse, in my view.

Considering fall 2013 has my favorite SOL show in years (Non Non Biyori) and favorite romance show in years (White Album 2) that's a definite no from me, I won't even bother getting into all the other show I'm watching, I'd take those two shows over the likes of snafu,oreimo 2 and gargantia.
