Ummm Origin, how about just giving us 2 wishes? Is that really so tricky? You have basically the three parties that made this stupid game, so just give them another wish. After all Origin did all this to a degree for his curiosity. After all the sacrifice you forced on people to get this far, just throw them a bone.
But even ignoring that, the ending was alright. It was sad no matter which way you went since both parties ended up losing even more. Elle loses her "father" twice and the other Milla. Or you have Ludger lose his brother, the other Milla, the other him, and Elle (the person he came all this way to save). Seems like a lose/lose. But, even though it was a lose/lose I could leave the Elle ending with a smile. Yes she lost a lot, but she got saved in a way that few people are saved. She was chosen, over Ludger's own life, over the possibilities in his future, over it all. Something to live on knowing just how special she was to someone.
I did like the shot in the future of Elle seeing how she's doing. Considering the efforts they made to put you in Ludger's shoes, it was a nice thing for him/us to know that she turns out alright. She did lose a lot, but she gained this huge family. So many people looking out for her growing up. Somehow I could feel a bit sad for the MC dying, but also glad that we accomplished what we came all that way to do. Save Elle's life.
It's still a shame though. It's purely selfish on my part, but I would have loved a really hard to get third option. Some kind of perfect run where they can both make it
. I know it's asking for a lot, but come on if Jude gets to live I want Ludger and Elle living too
. Come on game, give me some slack
.
I'll also say that it felt like the Victor angle was used too early. He felt like a character they really could have saved for later. Heck replace the evil corporate guy with him and it's an interesting last battle
