I got the sense that he likes what he likes, and getting a harem isn't too high on his list. He wants to work on his research and retire from fighting on the front lines - one step at a time.

He accepts Loki as a close companion though so there's definitely something there. Whether it develops into something else is up in the air.

What he doesn't like is when other people try to push stuff onto him. He's not a skirt-chaser and doesn't have interest in politics or power. So he gets annoyed when others try to make him pursue those things.

I think this is interesting since MC is basically cannot survive when he retires at the start (Can't clean house, laundry, or even cooking to survive, anything related to normal life) despite he is number one at the army. Still, i try to look at LN after re-read the manga again.

I have only read the manga, but are there any major male characters in the novel other than the MC ? Also, are any of them friends or allies of the MC ? Are there any depictions of any female characters ( minor or not ) romantically attracted to, or coupled with male characters other than the MC ? ( Like in Mahouka Rettousei for example )

Depending on the answers I might decide to read the novel immediately.

LOL, Ars and Loki are practically married. They might need some counseling though, they show clear signs of marriage fatigue.

Ferinella would have a great chance under normal circumstances but let's face it, she's not even in the same area code. I hope she survives though.

As for Fia and Alice they should become Ferinella's underlings, it's better not to hold onto false hope.

Letty might have a chance too, she's very strong and has a history with Ars.

Still think it's Loki or bust.

She got beaten up badly and drag off by monster. (can't imagine what they gonna do without eating her alive but even if she survive, this event will be traumatic for the rest of her life ) At least The new about Ferinella gone MIA finally reach Ars. Hope this time he finally show some character growth and volunteer to save Ferinella's life (not like Alice time)

Ars even surprised of himself. This is the proof Ferinella is important to him. Glad that Ars show some sign of character development.
