Part 2; is it bad?

Agreed. Not only is Itachi the greatest badass "older brother" design I've seen in any shounen to date, but...yeah, no spoilers but the rest of Akatsuki is really well designed so far.

While I'd agree akatsuki has one of the better tailors around, I wouldn't refer to them as the best, given the fact that bathrobes tend to not be that handy in fights.

I'm not a manga reader or anything like that, but I have been reading some various topics on this board from time to time that contained manga spoilers in them and from what I've read so far, I can't help but get the feeling that the manga is kind of dragging in a couple areas.

For example;

Spoiler:

All this time has passed and so much has happened; Naruto's gone from unleashing 2 tails to 4, Kakashi gained MS, plus a bunch of other stuff, and yet I've heard that there's still no word on Sasuke. This is actually the main issue I'm reffering to. Supposedly, all this time has gone by and we still don't know anything about Sasuke since he joined w/ Oro!? Is that really true or did I happen to misread something? I would've thought that after a few months, manga readers would've at least gotten to see his new appearance if nothing else. Does it look Sasuke will be re-introduced anytime soon? Because at this rate, I'm afraid the animated series will be forced to undergo yet ANOTHER filler arc before we finally get to Sasuke again during the year 2007...or 8. lol

Actually the way things are progressing, we'll at least see a glimpse of sasuke within the next 10 chapters. Its taken this long simply because of what you've mentioned along with some other things distracting from the job at hand, which is namely to take the fight to oro and get sasuke back.

And if anyone wants a specific reason why its taken so long, please accept this spoiler free version of the events that have unfolded:

Personally I think it's great that it's taking so long, I just hope the final appearance will satisfy the fans as the long wait will probably have built up the anticipation. What with him being the most popular character and all (at least at the time he was last in the manga, don't know about now).

lets just put part two this way, kakashi gaiden was nice flashback on kakashi and had legitimate use in describing how kakashi used to be and stuff.
after that it started of well and naruto did some nice things. The fights were pretty cool and will be nice to watch animated. Naruto has shown improvement of his self only kyuubi. Im hoping naruto is at least twice as strong as he used to be but so far nuthin to confirm he is even 10% stronger. Yet to see a true "naruto" win that was with ease. What we need is a chuunin exam.

Also, remember he has been training under Jiraiya, a guy who decided to teach Naruto to try and withstand the Attacks from Itachi and Co. so the Jotsu he's learned is gonna be far more advanced than any rookie will know, not to mention more powerful, and Naruto's Stamina will be far higher than any rookies.

Imo they will just auto promote him, i mean, you can become chunin just through showing yr abilities, you dnt acctually have to win the tourniment, so what difference does it make if Tsunade just auto promotes him out of the exam? He's shown enough potential to do so.

Yeah, I agree. I think the worst part is just the length of the chapters for the manga readers. The chapters stretch on and on. But there is one thing that the anime does that has one over Kishi, they actually make it better. Before you know it, a fight that may last for 11 chapters may last for just 3 episodes. I think Part 2 will be worth the wait. The downside is that I hate to see just how quick they catch up again with the manga. Is the manga really that far ahead from the original stopping point of the anime (before fillers)?

It would be atleast a little interesting to see Naruto go in and out of the chuuning exam Gaara-style. Not with blood in his eyes but a little irritated just sweeping away all the "enemies".

I don't think it would be a very good storyline.

I really have no interest in watching Naruto squash everyone else in the exam.

If he passes the exam without any problems, then it's just a waste of pages. No character struggles, no real plot development. Unless there's a specific reason why he must participate in the exam, it will be no more than, "see someone who has spent three years training with one of the greatest ninjas of all time, and has the power of a demon on his side, beat up a bunch of thirteen-year olds and that's hardly compelling.

If he has problems against some of the other competitors, then he's struggling against ordinary genin and that would be just sad.

Either way you cut it, Naruto should be far beyond the Chuunin exam and if he has to retake it for the purpose of being promoted, it should be off-panel.

a new chuunin exam would only work after sasuke is back, and then we can see sasuke, naruto and an unknown genin(demon) get into the final exam. Hell how funny would it be seeing naruto try to pass the first ninja exam again? And we can maybe waste 1 chapter getting through it, like sasuke and naruto get into the forest and last double page is them walking into the place with both scrolls no injuries in like a couple of minutes. Then next eps would be some cool fight where naruto is first to fight and being a cocky bastard lets the guy think he's winning and then bam destroys him, then we see sasuke defeat the guy in a split second. Pretty basic shounen stuff there btw. i just want naruto to shine just once. he hasnt had an easy win that didnt involve some dumb tactic(sexy no jutsu wins are lame)

I enjoyed most of the Sasuke arc. Other than the big fight of the arc, I loved the Chouji fight the most (he should've had his moment and died...)

Part 2 for me has lots of Plot that unlocks most things that we question from Part 1. It has lots of Character development, specially with our two main Protagonist, Sakura and Naruto. New, interesting characters will be introduced, and lots of new mysteries that needs to be revelead. Bottomline, I like the way Part 2 is shaping up ^^.

If a Chunin exam is needed to promote Naruto to Chunin, then this should be something shown of-panel, there is no real reason in why to create another chunin storyline, it would be very unoriginal, I’m more inclined to think Naruto will remain a genin or he will be promoted based on his actions in battlefield
