One Piece. Most annoying show I’ve ever seen. Everyone keeps telling me it’s because I saw the 4Kids dub, but I took a look at the original Japanese version, and even that sucked. I don’t like the artwork, either…

Haruhi Suzumiya. Sorry, but I can't stand Haruhi herself - she's a loudmouthed, abusive, self-centered bitch who I find about as appealing as Athlete's Foot. If the show didn't have her in it, I'd probably like it, but she's pretty hard to get around.
Evangelion. Cliche + Pretension does not = Genius. Azumanga Daioh. It's like listening to a four year old trying to tell a joke - they know it's supposed to be funny, but don't have the whole "punchline" concept really down yet. Sailor Moon after the first season. The first season was good, and I genuinely liked it, but after that it got stupid and repetitive. I exempt the R and S movies from this - they were both good - but otherwise it was Monster of the Week, and gender benders. No thanks. Naruto. I liked it the first time I saw it, when it was called Dragonball. Oh wait - no I didn't. Spice and Wolf. I'm not a furry, I don't like tsunderes, and I'm tired of hearing the Catholic Church blamed for everything from Male Pattern Baldness to the early cancellation of Firefly. MariMite. Just about as boring as you would expect a lesbian porno that had all the sex cut out - which is exactly what it is - to be. One Piece. Reminds me of the American cartoons of the 80s that I realized were all suckfests when I started watching anime (except GI Joe - which still rocks). And lastly, most Miyazaki movies. They don't even really come across as anime to me, more like something created by someone who's really jealous of Disney movies and wanted to try to copy them, at least in spirit. Beside, anyone in the anime industry who's on record as hating moé can kiss my fat boy. |

I guess I'm lumping the whole franchise into the discussion, instead of just the anime. But, to talk about anime without touching on other related stuff is like eating hotdogs without the sausages: It isn't complete. |

Clannad - Thought it sucked
One Piece - I don't get it, why is it popular? I think the designs are terrible and annoying Lupin the 3rd - Again I dont get it. Gundam (all of them) - How many times can you recycle the same garbage? Neo Evangelion - I thought it sucked ... I'm sure theres more, but this is just off the top of my head right now.. |

I'm pretty much sure it's a cultural thing. Like I mentioned in my previous posts, these series are still racking in big bucks for their studios (Come to think about it, the title tends to point to such anime in the first place. Oops.). For the record, I'm a 22 year old Chinese living in Singapore. All I can say is: If any animation studio follows the guide on this page, they'll go broke very quickly. |

Hence why this topic is called anime everyone loves bout you hate. I can't agree more about Haruhi. Seems more like a split with a ferociously devoted fanbase than a everyone loves anime after reading this topic. Couldn't stand the character or the show. Never found One Piece to be that popular but cant stand it either. I do however love gundam and clannad.

And it's never even implied that it was the Catholic church in Spice and Wolf, was it? For all we know, it could have been Jehovah's Witnesses. Quote:
Just goes to show how many people assume that anime was made purely to cater to them. It's because it's mainly popular in Japan, where most of the people who watch anime are children. Notice how Futari wa Pretty Cure is a popular series in Japan and hardly anyone outside has seen any of its several seasons. Or it could be because everyone knows how good Toei is outside. |

One Piece. I'll just say it: I thought it is/was crap. I don't know if it's still on going, but either way I don't care because I couldn't watch past the first season. American cartoons are drawn better, the character designs are juvenile at best, and the voice acting is annoying for both english and japanese. And every episode I want to strangle Luffy for some reason or another, whether because of his ignorant naivete or his incessant "I wanna be Hokage King of the Pirates" speech. Hated Haruhi. For all reason already stated. Harihi herself was a bitch, and then the show got too psychedlic for me to grasp what the heck was going on. I think I already said this earlier, but I'll back up what you guys said. Gundam. It was so-so for me. I like Gundam Wing and G Gundam, and that was it. Oh, and Gundam 00 was okay, I guess. It just I'm tired of overpowered mechas taking over everything. I hate overpowered things in general. Evangelion... already overstated in this thread so i will not spam yet more of it. Personally I loved Clannad, but I could see why some people might not like it, I would guess largely due to the Fuko arc. There are others I hate, but I hope other people hate them just as much as I do. I am SERIOUSLY beginning to hate any anime with exccessive female characters with high pitched voices that shatter dogs' ears and rattle the stratosphere. And I think Nergol's main problem was the fact that they RESEMBLED the Catholic Church just enough. I admit that I thought of the Catholic Church as well. Simply put, no other large scale religious organization, that has both political and monetary power enough to influence a government comes to mind. But then again, I refer to the older Church, of course.

They're not totally awful series, but they do not motivate you to spend any effort to get the series. The power button of my TV set is probably the most effort I'll spend on it. |

Clannad- I just couldn't get into watching this. I stopped at Episode 10, and I finished Episode 9 + 10 in a total of 5 min.
Naruto - Natural born hatred. I cannot explain why I don't like this anime Marimite - I watched Strawberry Panic first and loved it. Marimite is too peaceful and the art style is just crap in my eyes. |

Flying fortress of bullshit Almost anything related to high school and harem anymore. Maybe this is an aging thing, i'm 21, and i no longer find almost any of this stuff funny anymore, leading towards deeper anime now Bleach - After the soul society ark this fell apart faster than george bush's popularity rate Trigun - The gigantic arm guns we're retarded dang.....theres gotta be more |

I did watch it all the way through and it wasn't until episode 10 that it actually delivered something that made me forget my criticism, and then it just kinda' coasted along from there. I can't say I "hated" the series, but I did absolutely hate Yurito's character design. I couldn't stand looking at him most of the time because his head is so freakin' distorted. WTF were they thinking with that chin of death!? I like Mitsuri's design in the manga and artwork, but the anime renderings of her aren't very flattering, IMHO. And yes, I'm actually that picky about character designs. If the characters aren't visually pleasing the series has a major strike against it from the start. Sola is a story that would have been better done as a 3 part OVA along the lines of Le Portrait de Petit Cossette.

Only part which I liked was the Kotomi arc. Kotomi = MOE, has Noto Mamiko's voice talent.
