I still liked the episode as a whole though, they built up the Welkin-Alicia-Faldio relationship and showed off either side's jerkface generals (Gregor and Damon). I also like to think that they built up Welkin. It seemed like Welkin was aware of how terrible a general Damon is and was ok with not working under his command (i.e. he knew that Damon was going to get screwed.). But then that's just speculation on my part :-/.

I don't think it's speculation at all, otherwise that whole talk about Welkin's incomprehensible yet mostly on-point logic between Faldio and Alicia would have been somewhat misplaced. Welkin saw all the stuffed animal heads used as decoration while listening to the general's words and determined that the man was overarrogant and cocky with himself.

As for the supporting characters being used as props, it doesn't bother me right now. Fleshing out the more important characters first while it's still early in the series before getting the supporting characters is something I generally prefer. Of course, I haven't played the game yet, and I'm planning to get it this summer, so my mind might change.

I gave this episode an 8/10. It was an episode that once again highlighted Welkin's perceptiveness and showed the brute tactical force of the Empire.

Agree, a good episode on the whole.

Now I am seriously hoping for the next one to be a bit more loaded in the action department. Most battles have ended a little too quickly so far, IMHO.

I'm still quietly watching. Enjoyable even where disappointing, which is a heartening thing to be able to say.

I've enjoyed this episode overall. Sure, it may look silly but the anime probably had to take some liberties with it. Lelou- I mean Maxmillian looks very intimidating and actually knows how to command his army. Alicia/Faldio will be short-lived though once we get to see the battles.

1st squad is Macho men.
Faldio is playing a matchmaker in this episode or just want to give Welkin's guardian position to Alicia (From 4ep. preview: "I'm his buddy, guardian and a busybody in general.").
Faldio is a lively character and he seems can be interesting.
Alicia's only purpose is to make funny faces as a character she isn't interesting.
I don't know what to think about bad guys except that they are bad.

You should play the game to notice that she is a major character,you should play the game is a lot better tan this 4eps.
I don´t know about the rest of you guys but this ep was the worst one at least for me.

I hope next one shows some action and we finally see Largo using the correct weapon.

Also I don´t like the changes that they have done to Alicia in general.

oh yeah, anyone spot the mistake?

when alicia ask him to put some clothes on, he put on his shirt then his coat and you can see the collar of his white shirt when they switch to his face, but when we jump to the next scene he's just wearing his coat bare chested.

I guess he found the shirt too tight....or something...well alicia didn't mind this time...

Hm, well this is a bit different than the game, firstly I don't remember Gregor's portrayal to be so ruthless. Nor was he at Kloden at the time. However i'm pleased to see fat man Damon got his ass handed to him, feel bad for the guy he left behind in charged. Faldio is also helping the operation this time.

Finally get to see the man in action.

All in all, it's a bit 'nice' to see a change in the plot.

With Gregor (i'm assuming he's in Kolden as he's the first 'boss' to go)
Jaeger looks alot older, or... something *sob* nuuuu
Selvaria same, she looks off / in the anime, I think it's the eyes...

In the OP, after the Edy moment, there's the moment with the guy that's obviously fawning over something next to two other guys with "oh boy..." faces. The fawner is Jann. He's slightly gay.
