Havent read yet the wn yet but i think there is no bulk of text.
It is basically something close to a comic. You read the text next to the images.

I finished reading the first light novel (book form) and as I promised, I'll post some spoilers. I liked the book but it is not one of the best I've read.

Spoiler for big spoilers:

Female Priest - Saved by the Goblin Slayer in the first part of the book. Joins his party. At the end, as a reward for helping with the extermination at the ranch, she asks him to remove his helmet, which he does. Causes a big racket at the guild as mostly no-one has seen him before (except the cow girl). He is very handsome by their reaction.

Cow Girl - Went to the ranch at a young age. She details how she got into a fight with her childhood friend before she left. Later this friend turns out to be the Goblin Slayer. Seems he was jealous that she was able to leave the village while he was stuck there. While she was away, the village was attacked and everyone was killed except the young Globlin Slayer who hid. This is way he is so fixated in killing goblins.

Female High Elf - Invites him and the female priest along with her own party (a dwarf shaman and lizardman priest) to exterminate goblins. She at first details the whole plans to subdue an evil god but he isn't interested until goblins are mentioned. The team becomes friendly along the way. At the subjugation, there turns out to be an Ogre that is hard to kill and the Goblin Slayer is forced to use a precious magic scroll to take him out. The female elf seems annoyed that the Goblin Slayer seems only in it to kill goblins and not for the adventure. But on the other hand she grows to like him.

Guild Girl - Likes the Goblin Slayer. Has been there since he broke in as an adventurer and likes how he takes on the jobs no one likes to do. There was one sentence out of the blue where she states she was saved by the goblin slayer before but maybe I misinterpreted it. The Spear user likes her which causes some animosity between him and the Goblin Slayer.

The last thing that happens is that the ranch, where the Goblin Slayer lives with the cow girl and her uncle is going to come under attack from over 100 goblins and a goblin lord. The cow girl won't leave because the same thing is occurring that happened in the past. And she wants the Globlin Slayer to have a place to come home to. The Goblin Slayer knows he can't take on all these goblins alone and goes to the guild and humbles himself to the guild members, pleading them for assistance. At first they are reluctant but the guy who uses spears who always seems antagonistic to him agrees and others follow. The Guild Girl gets the Guild to pay 1 gold coin for every goblin killed that helps matters. At the end of the battle, the Goblin Slayer kills the goblin lord with the help of the priestess.

I bought the second book and will read it shortly.

got some info on vol form a chinese site.

the GS party is hire by the church to help its Seijou (holy woman?) overcome her PTSD. She was torture, rape and blinded by goblins when she younger. Since the last thing she saw was goblin raping and torturing her, she suffers form nightmares.

I started reading the second volume. I got up to the part where they meet the holy woman(she's a hero and gold class. second from the top). She wears a blindfold so she may be blind. After I read more, I'll know more. So far it seems they were hired to kill goblins lurking under the city.

Even a Gold rank fell to the might of goblins!! Poor holy woman.....any more elaborate details of her suffering?? *raises eyebrow

I'm halfway through with the 2nd volume. When I'm done I'll post spoilers. Probably tomorrow. The issues with the Archbishop are so far just alluded to but not in great detail at the point I'm at. The party just narrowly survived a fight with goblins including a Goblin Champion. When I'm done, I'll sum it up.

Spoilers for volume 2

Spoiler for summary and major spoilers:

Goblin Slayer chooses a request to do goblin subjugation in one of the more major cities. He goes with he female priest, the high elf, dwarf shaman and lizard priest. Turns out the requester is the Archbishop of one of the religions that reside over lawfulness. She is a gold level adventurer and also a hero that subjugated a great evil 10 years ago. She is also gorgeous but wears a blindfold and when the female priest
bathes with her, she sees remnants of scars.

Goblins have been active in the city. The adventurers go underground into the sewers a few times. First time they face goblins who have built a raft. Also a swamp dragon appears. They then encounter more goblins on rafts and they trick them to face the swamp dragon while they escape. The second time they run into a Champion Goblin and are badly beaten up, but the Goblin Slayer recovers and rips out the Goblin Champion's eye even though he is badly injured. In order to heal him, the archbishop and female priest share a bed naked with with Goblin Slayer in order to perform an advanced healing ceremony. It seems that the archbishop was the one who had that spell so it seems the female priest was just there to help. The Goblin Slayer, as usual, makes nothing of seeing their bodies when he wakes up. (there is a color picture of the female priest covering herself up in the book).

The Goblin Slayer and female priest go shopping. While doing so, they encounter someone selling ice cream which they haven't seen before. The Goblin Slayer is curious about it and learns the general guidelines on how to produce it.

The next time the adventurers go into the dungeon, they use a secret staircase they discovered earlier and encounter a giant eyeball guarding a mirror. They don't name the monster but I would say it is like a beholder in D&D. After defeating it, they learn the mirror attaches to other locations and that is where the goblins are coming from. Someone has set this whole situation up. The goblins attack again along with the Goblin Champion and are eventually defeated. The adventurers during this time, rip the mirror off the wall and take it with them. Although it is worth a fortune, they encase it in concrete and sink it so goblins can't use it again.

The Goblin Slayer confronts the Archbishop, knowing that she knew the whole story from the start, The swamp dragon was a familiar or something of the Church. He also says he knows what the goblins did to her. She has conflicting thoughts that although she is recognized as a hero, she is afraid of goblins. On parting, the goblin slayer said call him anytime there are goblins to beat and when she said, even in her dreams, he says yes. She seems to have feelings for him, and as he is leaving, she shouts out something in keigo (Japanese respect language) that is something like "I love you" but it is unknown where he hears it.

On the way back to their town, the Goblin Slayer comments that he wants to try to make ice cream, probably with the milk from the ranch, and everyone is excited to try it.

In the afterwards, the author states that in the next volume the harvest festival takes place. During one of the many little side chapters in the book, two women are talking. Probably the guild girl and the cow girl I think and they mention like they will try to ask the Goblin Slayer out during the harvest festival. Just a side note.

Thanks for the summary,was the archbishop really raped by the goblins?
I'm still hoping the goblins only tortured her,none of the women raped by goblins made it out alive I think.

I think she was raped though it doesn't go into details. She mentioned that she wasn't pure or something after the healing ceremony if I remember correctly. Also in the first book they saved an elf girl that was probably violated. I think there were some others saved as well.

not smart but cunning

not strong physically but strong in number. For the first time a author actually written the "strength in numbers" correctly.
