slidingk1: Technically this IS milking the franchise, but it's doing it with style. I think at this point we can count the movies as Adaptation Distillation. Will people accept it as a continuity reboot, or merely an Alternate Timeline? Who knows.

Interestingly, me and a few old hands were tickled by the choice of name for the new girl (Mari)... Given the fact that the name SEEMS to be the default name of Touji's sister in stories on the Western side of the fandom.

Kind of a waste not to use the two existing game characters though. Isn't is sad, Kirishima? Yamagishi?

On Mana, I always thought of her as an "alternate" Rei, the Genki Girl who she often becomes in alternate timelines. Well, genki but with a tinge of sadness. Megumi-san was excellent as her, as always.

As you can see, it says NGE 3 Years After.

As far as I can make out, its some kind of Eva side story that takes place 3 years after the events of episode 25 and 26. Shinji has completed the Human Instrumentality Project and opened up a future for mankind.

With a new generation of EVAs, a new generation of Plug Suits were created. Featuring Asuka in her 3rd gen Plug Suit.

And damn, Asuka at 17 years old is amazingly hot. She used to be my favourite female mecha character for a number of years, she could very well be climbing up my ranking list again with her new appearance now.

So there you have it, another EVA expansion story.

Where you have an an older, more Gendo looking Shinji wearing Misato's cross while holding an older sleeping Auska too...if only...

I was telling my friend Asuka has truly inherit Gainax Bounce this time.

I loved her character for a long time but never had interest in any form of doujin of her, but now it may be different.
