NT12 - The Magic Gods arrive in AC to make Touma their scorer. Aleister tampers with the spell that they used to come here. Meanwhile, a collective of Magicians and lies, St
Germain, arrives, to mess with the Magic Gods. Touma, Othinus, and Index defeat him with the help of ITEM and a boy who claimed to be #6.
NT13 - The High Priest, the youngest Magic God, approaches Touma about making him their scorer. Touma refuses and he and Mikoto must escape the Magic God. Kihara Noukhan kills him with the Anti-Art Attachment or A.A.A., but before he can kill the others, who try to destroy AC after seeing they have a weapon that can kill Magic Gods, a boy appears and banishes them.
NT14 - This boy's name is Kamisato Kakeru, he manifested World Rejector, due to the MG's doubts in Touma after the Othinus incident, the power banishes those with conflicting ideals who are unfit with the world to a "New World". He hates the Magic Gods for giving him a power that overrides his normality, though likes to save people like Touma. Laura Stuart, who monitored Aleister's fight with the Magic Gods, and manipulated Kamisato so he could cause chaos in Aleister's plans. Aleister manipulates the Birdway Sisters to create a situation which will allow him to eliminate Kamisato and his Kamisato Faction. The plan fails and Kamisato ends up killing Kihara Noukhan, which leaves Yuiitsu, angry at Kamisato and wanting revenge on everyone who led Noukhan to his death.
NT15 - Kamisato transfers to Touma's new school (his old one destroyed by HP in NT13) to learn the truth about his Imagine Breaker
Unfortunately, his mass murderer sister steps in, angry at Touma for beating him last volume. Yuiitsu, disguised as the school's council president, is monitoring and manipulating the situation, and attacks Kamisato, leading to a battle, ending with her stealing World Rejector and coaxing it into believing her its owner. Aleister and Yuiitsu make a deal to eliminate Kamisato and Misaka (who gains the A.A.A. in the battle with Yuiitsu).
NT16 - Yuiitsu creates bestial artificial monsters to find and kill Kakeru. To fight them back, a member of his faction, Fran, creates a heatwave, hurting the Elements and the city's structure and tech. A rematch ensues ending with Kakeru being banished by his own power.
NT17 - Yuiitsu tricks the rest of the Faction into helping her, except for Fran who sides with Touma. After failing to get Index and Othinus' help, Touma and Fran get help from a Kamisato Faction member named Luca and Mikoto in trying to use the A.A.A. to pull Kamisato out of the "New World". Mikoto is cursed by Aleister upon contact with the A.A.A.. The group succeed with an alternate method, causing the Faction to turn on Yuiitsu, but Fran is revealed to be Laura's spy and the one who led Kamisato here to cause trouble for Aleister. Fran abandons loving Kamisato after what she did and is targeted by Aleister. Tsuchi saves her and shoots him for breaking his promise of keeping Maika safe, during Yuiitsu's Element rampage, as the Board Chairman was too focused on his goal. Tsuchi and Fran go to get Touma's help in escaping the city as, Aleister won't attack Touma.
NT18 - Touma, Index, and Othinus help Tsuchi and Fran get Maika and convince her to flee with them. Aleister, no longer having the Magic Gods as enemies, having had cursed Mikoto, and Kamisato giving up WR and leaving the city, no longer has any threats to his plan
And thus, puts his plans into action by luring Touma into the Windowless Building. To do this, he places a Karma Sword curse on Maika, so Touma and the others would have to enter the Windowless Building to find the cure
Touma learns Aleister's backstory from an ai taking the form of Mina Mathers and begins to sympathize with him a little. Touma fights Aleister, whose begun his ritual, but Touma with help from his friends and a rebelling Mina, gives Aleister a speech that makes him regret the plan he started doubting when he sent Noukhan to fight Kamisato. But before the group can celebrate, Laura throws them out of the WB and reveals herself to be Lola, Aleister's daughter, posessesd by the Demon Coronzon, who was summoned by Mathers to bring Aleister to ruin. She kills Aleister, but (tying back to some past volumes) reveals he'd be containing all his "what-ifs" and sends them to find Coronzon's traces in the British Commonwealth and get rid of them. Along with Mikoto (who'd recovered) and Misaki in the A.A.A. saving the others, Touma is saved by a middle school/high school aged female Aleister what-if.
NT19 - She proceeds to launch the Windowless Building into space using magic, banishing Coronzon. Her and Aiwass begin a fight, while Aiwass writes a Grimoire to support a physical body for Mina, so she can avoid the WB burning up in the atmosphere, and sends her to Earth to help Aleister. Coronzon, who was using Fran as a 2nd avatar during "Laura"'s plans, tries to take over the Bank, and uses Hamazura as a decoy in her scheme, making him the target of Anti-Skill and of Accelerator, whom aims to destroy the Bank as its vulnerable. The suit Fran puts on was intended by her in use for attacking the Bank, and a copy was put on Hamazura so he could be targeted. However, the Bank's data is constantly being transferred and thus both Hamazura and Fran's suits recieve the Bank data, creating a conflict which makes the Bank inaccessible unless one suit is destroyed
As Hamazura is being hunted he finds Aleister's other daughter Lillith, whom Aiwass copied the info of while in Rose's body long ago and saved her in a safe phase so he could release her after her death, when the time was right. After Coronzon is exorcised from Fran, traces of her remain in England. Aleis-tan convinces the 3 protags and some of their friends to help her (?) save Lola.
NT20 - Touma and the gang arrive in England to find it at war. A knight named Sir Mirates created lies about the "Crowley's Hazards" (Aleister's what ifs) hurting people, so he could cause a war and gain power with the British Royal Family. Touma and friends (minus Hamazura and Takitsubo who get separated from the rest) are unable to enter London as it is blocked by a magical barrier. So Aleis-tan gets Touma arrested in the Tower of London where he meets Orsola and is tortured by Stiyl
With Othinus' help, he breaks free and destroys the core to the barrier. His friends get in but Knight Leader and Kanzaki attack Aleis-tan. Aleis-tan finds Kanzaki is posessesd by an artifical demon made by Coronzon and dispels it. Meanwhile, England uses Spiritual Items known as Divine Mixtures (based on European misunderstandings of mythology) to change England into Egypt, to kill Aleister. However, this was a mistake and the Mixtures were to be used on people and not ley lines. Oriana, Levinia, and Lessar were hired to bring the last two remaining mixtures back to the British Museum. Only one makes it and Orsola uses it, feeling lossless in the fight. She is posessesd by the Isis-Demeter Divine Mixture and attacks Aleis-tan. After a battle in the London subway, Touma frees Orsola and convinces her that the war was pointless. Touma's friends regroup and go to the Graveyard in Westminster Abbey where Coronzon's "Achilles heel" is. Aleis-tans wants to mess with Coronzon, through Mathers corpse, as he was her contractor. Accelerator finds the artificial demon who was possessing Kanzaki, and forms a contract with her, in order to get help with magic. Mathers and the rest of the Golden Dawn are alive (for reasons next volume will explain) and attack Aleis-tan. But, Touma and Accel come to her aid.

Thanks a lot. After reading the summary, im ok with not getting back into it. Maybe once the series ends or something happens that catches my interest.
The part with Accelerator seems interesting but given how i have stuck with this series for a long time, im certain it will cause me frustration again if i get into it.

Also, am amused at how Accelerator looks like a sad little boy in the cover. Am glad that the focus is on Accelerator and Touma, but I wish Hamazura were in the spotlight too though maybe that's too much to ask, sigh. Well, I'm pretty hyped for this. ~

Hamazura gave up on being a hero since Agitate Halation, he is quite literally the designated babysitter.

Kamachi and Mahaya seem to work together a lot. There's Zashiki Warashi, Beatrice, My Vampire Older Sister... and now this series.

From machine translating the summary, the story is apparently set in a virtual reality game used for committing crime. The main character is a guy who's a skilled player(?) and able to earn 1.7 billion of the virtual currency in an hour. The person on the illustration is the third Kamachi character to be named Tselika and she's a succubus-type AI partner. I can't understand the rest, though.

With Index III coming up, I've started rewatching the whole series as a way to remind myself of everything that's happened so far.
As I've finished watching Arc1, the question came up to me (and probably did when I first saw it, years ago)...
Why did Touma have to lose his memories? Has there been any indication of why did it have to happen, other than his possible lack of fortune?

Why from a narrative standpoint? His amnesia is a driving force of his character. Post-amnesia Touma remembers nothing. So when he decides to save someone you could say the decision is easy for him. He remembers nothing, has nothing, and therefore stands to lose nothing. As such he admires the original Touma for his acts of heroism, risking his life to save people when he had people he loved waiting for him. His actions are his attempt to live up to the heroic Touma he once was.

It's a mistake to pick up the novels where anime left because otherwise you're more likely to jump to biased opinions regarding some characters development.

It was mean to be literary irony.
Touma fought so hard to protect Index's memories only to end having his own destroyed.
