New Saint Seiya anime announced, titled -Saintia Shou-

Premise:

The manga is set immediately after the main storyline's Sanctuary arc after the defeat of Gemini Saga from Masami Kurumada's original Saint Seiya manga, but before the Posieidon arc. However, whereas the original manga followed a boy named Seiya and other Saints who fight to protect the goddess Athena, the new series follows a female "Saintia" named Shō who fights evil deities to protect Athena.

I'm actually surprised. I thought they're gonna do Next Dimension first. Even though the odds are all against me, I really really hope that the anime won't be made by Toei. I've lost all confidence when it comes to that studio. If Toei's gonna do this then my expectation is practically zero or even minus when it comes to the animation. That said, Umakoshi might be able to help if he decided to helm the series.

Yes, here in Brazil,(Where the series is considered sacred) a lot of people are revolted because neither ND got an adaptation and nor Lost Canvas took a continuation, in the most popular site of the series here, turned a confusion on related topic, almost half of the comments are curses.

I AM A HUGE FAN OF SAINT SEIYA!!! I also love any spinoff series in the franchise. I wish they'd adapt Nest Dimension, but I guess we'll have to wait until Masami Kurumada decides to finish it (whenever that is). Though I secretly wish someone would remake they original before that happens. As for The Lost Cancas, adapting that into OVAs instead of a full-on series probably wasn't the best idea. I hope they try again one day.

I’d prefer Lost Canvas anime stayed dead rather than being continued or rebooted by Toei coz I’m sure they’ll ruin it. My god, Omega S2 was bad, and Soul of Gold is only interesting because the Gold Saints are the MCs and they had pretty-looking God Cloths, otherwise that series would’ve been a total trash when it comes to story (super-ultra repetitive & mediocre) and animation (very bad except maybe the OP).

i actually enjoyed more omega s2 tha the first and even more than Lost Canvas, the soul of gold was more related to the "crap/cheap animation" the story was "fine" nothing really awesome but i could enjoy it.

about that saintia shou, somehow i get a feeling of a sort of "sailor moon with actually armor and "physical battlers.

well i will give a try on it, before complain or rant.

I haven't the manga past the first couple chapters. How does it compare to other Saint Seiya material?

They changed the art-style to be closer to Shingo Araki's and the original anime.

This is what I keep saying they should do to adapt Episode G.

Funny thing: This will be the first time that the original manga version of the Pegasus Cloth will be animated (minus the colors).

I wonder, who will voice Seiya this time - Tohru Furuya, Masakazu Morita or Kaito Ishikawa? And please, for the love of all good, keep Shoko Nakagawa away from Athena. Granted, she became a much better actress since Omega, but I still shudder to think that she'll sound here like she did there.

Also, I think Morita will do Seiya's role since he is younger like in the previous video games

Whoever will voice Seiya will depend on how much of a say Kurumada has on this. He was the one who wanted to change the seiyuus for Hades IIRC.
