Games available only in Japan

Hey guys!

I've been studying abroad in Japan and I only have a few weeks left! So I was wondering what games I can only buy in Japan for the DS or any region free console (except for PC).

I really like the non-H type of dating sim games like Love Plus (I already have a copy), anime games, rpgs, and action-adventure games.

Any suggestions?

My friend is in Japan right now and he's going to pick me up the second Tingle RPG game for the DS, it's only about £5 apparently.

Irozuki Tinguru no Koi no Balloon Trip (いろづきチンクルの恋のバルーントリップ)

Looks really fun, maybe give that a shot.

Thanks for the suggestion! Sorry, but Tingle has to be one of my least favorite characters from Zelda, so I don't think I'll be checking it out.

Project Diva(s) are a must if you even remotely enjoy music.

A high recommendation from me is a completely unknown little visual novel and RPG hybrid called Sigma Harmonics. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sigma_Harmonics
It is a romance/detective themed visual novel and the girl is voiced by Aya Hirano.

This sounds awesome! I love Hirano Aya and mystery novels! Thanks!

I used to know of a few lesser known All-Ages / Non-H visual in Japan only but I've since forgotten them. But one I distinctly remember is Symphonic Rain, very pretty art.

Also someone posted a link to this handy database, it has a section for Low or None H Content. You can also search for other factors.
http://vndb.org/g236?m=0;o=d;s=rel
http://vndb.org/g582

Seems its also possible to do a rough search on Wikipedia.

The more known ones are Key's titles which all have All Ages versions I think such as Air and Kanon. Also Clannad and Little Busters! was originally non-H.
Memories Off is another famous one that was originally non-H though not by Key.

Aside from that, do you have any anime you enjoy a lot? Even if they distribute an anime in US / Europe they rarely bring over the games because it would involve too much translation. Unless its something that is mainstream like Naruto. For example Kino's Journey had 2 PS2 games (which also happen to be visual novel-style ones), I doubt they will ever come over to our shores.

I really like Fate/Stay Night, Evangelion, Haruhi, those are the only current animes that are popular in Japan that I know of so far. However, I like almost everything type-moon has done.

Also, I would like to try a visual novel for the DS if there's really good one! Thanks for all the suggestions so far, I hope I have enough money, ^^!

If you liked Evangelion, you might like Girlfriend of Steel 1 & 2, which is available on the region free Playstation Portable.

Actually, if you have watched Code Geass, there is the Playstation Portable Game Code Geass: Lelouch of The Rebellion - Lost Colors

Fate/Stay night would be in the form of the Playstation Portable game Fate/Unlimited Codes. (I do not recommend Fate/EXTRA because it apparently leaves much to be desired.)

Note: Lost Colors and Girlfriend of Steel are both Dating sims/Visual novels. Unlimited Codes is a fighting game.

Je. Hope that helped.

Evangelion DS Games
Puchi Eva: Evangelion @ Game
Ayanami Ikusei Keikaku with Asuka Hokan Keikaku

Haruhi DS Games
Suzumiya Haruhi no Chokuretsu

Here is also a Wiki list of games based on anime:

Not sure about visual novels for DS currently accessible in Japan (as in not out-of-print) and non-H. Here's a few I could find via Play-Asia (sticking to 15+ I'm guessing they lean towards the Low/None Sexual Content):

Jump! Ultimate Stars muhaha fun game.

Its basically a fighting game just like Super Smash Bros but with Anime characters, Ranging from One Piece to YuYuHakusho and even to Bobobobo lawl..

Its a pretty old game though.. Perhaps around the 2006 I believe..
but hell its fun.

I second the Haruhi Games. Simply because I'm a Fan of that title.

There are a couple of S&W games which never made it out of Japan, for the DS. Boku to Holo no Ichinen being the first.
They might suit you as I *think* they broadly fall under the rpg/dating-sim sections you mention.
