I see they packed as much slice of life in to the first part of the episode as they could for maximum mood whiplash in the last third or so. Although they skipped the encounter with Justin Law and Tezcatlipoca while the girls were lost in DWMA's basement...
The mastermind has finally been named. Shaula Gorgon should ring something of a bell for those familiar with the original series, since it contained the other two Gorgon sisters: Medusa and Arachne. The book Tsugumi got from Maka: BRAVE Ten Conditions for Having the Courage A little Engrishy, but the intent sounds like something Tsugumi could find useful.

Yes indeed - talk about whiplash ... man ... that being said, I thought they adapted the Death Bazaar scenes very well.
Poor Tsugumi ... I really, really like her as a character and think her portrayal really is perfect as a different side to the "world" and backdrop the Soul Eater events take place in - in many ways her reactions and engaging, endearing personality really helps drive their significance and darkness home all the more. The series is slowly but surely making it's way upward in terms of anticipation on my part for each ep before it airs - a good sign. ^^

I could tell something was going to happen with that start of the show.
It was nice seeing Maka and Soul again. Though I still have to get used to their voices. I really like the series for portraying how life is like for the students who just want to live their lives and aren't warriors for the DWMA. |

Yeah, talk about an extreme situation at the end. That's some brutal mind-control in play. Forcing that girl to go nuts out there and then even try to take her own life. Luckily she didn't outright take her head off so...yeah.
And Tsumugi will need to make a call sooner or later. Sadly that's just how things turn out. If things had been slightly different and one of Anya or Meme were weapons too then maybe this triangle situation could be feasible. But can't really go into a fight passing a halberd between two people...They may be in NOT, but really it's just dragging things out. Whoever doesn't get picked will have to go and try and find a weapon to team up with. Or maybe one of them goes home, still not sure about their situations exactly anyways.
