kuro's feeling probably has more impact in the novel than in the anime, after all, books are always better than their screen adaptation counterpart. I've never read Accel World before, but started watching this because of comments from people at baka-tsuki. well, I don't plan on reading it due to time issue, but I'll continue to watch the anime. I hope we get to see kuro in Accel World again (the virtual world, not the "real" world).

But you know... it doesn't matter now cause now she's incapacitated . Unless the plot pulls one out of its ass and she starts moving again within the next few eps which will raise more than a few eyebrows by me if it does. Last edited by Pocari_Sweat; 2012-04-28 at 06:50. |

Well she has the plot armor being the main female character but I hope they keep her unconscious/away from the story for a minimum 4-5 episodes and have some growth with Haru and introduce a few new interesting characters. You are right on how cheap it will feel if she's back in the next 1-2 episodes after that "We'll meet again some day" line

Wow, i am just floored with this negative of this episode from some of the comments here, WoW (btw, its very good, it follow the novel and manga the same, outside of few changes).
I understand that everybody has their own opinion but WOW. But back to the episode, it was really good. I don't care what y'all say about that confession, I think she was very truth about it even know that Haru didn't understand (years of bully will do that for you). Besides, the novel tell you more about that.

I suspect that Kuroyuki might be incapacitated for awhile, but that does not mean her brain is not functioning. She might be able to neural link and "walk" around in the virtual world. However, considering how advance the medical science is in the series, she might recover quicker than we think. They were using nanobots (Synthetic Protein Micromachines) to repair her inside.
As for Cyan Pile/Takumu/Chiyu's Boyfriend, they mentioned that he was desparately in search of Kuroyuki to defeat her. Considering he is not one of the kings (since Kuroyuki mentioned that he would sell her information to the other kings, meaning he is weaker than her), I would guess that he is either forced or blackmailed into fighting her. Then again, it could be one of those semi-noble reasons where he needs all her points in order to rescue or achieve something of importance. Either way, I'm sure they are going to explain it somehow where he will eventually join up with Haru as one of his generals. Another inconsistency came to my attention. If there used to be 7 Kings, including Kuroyuki, and there are currently 6 Kings with 6 nations, where did the extra King come from? Kuroyuki executed the Red King, and he lost the link burst program. Does that mean that there is a new Red King during the past 2 years?

I should stop reading this thread at some point...cause it's killing me softly with laughter.
It might just be me, but I'm finding it hilarious how some people are so strongly against the possibility of a cool, cute and popular girl falling in love with a short, overweight and bullied kid (even if this aversion is just subconsciously) that any form of affection she displays is instantly attributed to her grand plan she has to manipulate him and everyone else is a fool for trusting her. I've read the manga and a bit of the LN, I knew after episode 1/2, after seeing people's reactions Kuroyukihime liking Haru (mostly people saying she's a heartless bitch with a grand plan of some kind) that when it reached this episode that people would instantly say moronic things like "She staged the accident to hook Haru completely! The confession was fake." or "She's using the accident to flesh out Cyan Pile." I wish I was a psychology student...some people here would be perfect subjects for a term paper or something. The denial is astounding. From those that are like Haru but aren't fortunate enough to find a cute girl like Kuroyukihime to love them so they view it as an impossibility, to those that are the complete opposite of Haru and find that the possibility of this happening as some sort of insult to them. Eh...you might be reading this, thinking I'm just taking out my ass and that it doesn't apply to you. But then again, the subconscious is a bitch sometimes. Some of you are probably already thinking up a response saying that I'm the opposite. That they find it laughable that some people are so delusional for believing that it could be possible. Probably already writing up how while some deny the possibility of it happening, that others are too accepting and that in accepting it as being possible, they could some day get a cute girl too. Might just be covering my bases, but I know full well that some people are like that as well. I am not and never will deny the possibility of some being as such, that would be rather one-sided and simple-minded. As for me, well I know it's possible. I would probably be one of those a bit too accepting before, but then again I have a personal experience with the situation. Yes, I'm bringing out the "I'm fat (actually not really short, quite tall but I digress) and was a loner yet I have a hot girlfriend!" card. I can already hear people going "bullshit" and "sure you do..." and well...it's the internet, people say something and you either believe it or don't, don't really matter to me which you chose. But really people, to conclude the rather drawn out post. Just lighten up a bit, it is a possible thing IRL, and even if it weren't we're talking about an anime, a fictional world where anything can happen, so if there can be something like Burst Link...is it that farfetched that a cute girl like s a fat guy? PS: Just remembered...ever heard of chubby chasers? Or do you also deny the possibility of such a fetish being real? |

Er.. I'm going to remain skeptical that this was all Kuro's plot. If your master plan involves getting hit by a car, it's time to fire your strategist.
"First, I'll just reach in and pull my legs out... now I'll pull my arms out with my face." You know, I like to think I have a high tolerance for cliche BS as long as it's carried off with conviction. It seemed early in the series to try and pull a tragic romance/heroic sacrifice/love confession reveal, but I appreciated how Kuro tried to tie in the idea of time being meaningless when you love someone to the overall theme of the Brain Burst program stopping time. And kissing the pig was sort of cute and funny. But dear lord, did they ever lose me with the photo of Haru in the diary being delivered by the pitying nurse. I was like "Oh, come ON!" Also, jelly Princess is best Princess. Spoiler for cyber-NTR'd:

Overall I liked this episode. Overall anyway.
I like the romance between KYH and Haru but it went a bit stupid in first half (Mostly because of KYH. Haru's reluctant to trust his own good fortune is understandable enough considering his background) and it just annoys the hell out me that Chiyu is in love with him too. At this point I'd like to see a significant female character that isn't in love with Haru and is perfectly capable of being friends with him. I did however like how KYH explained her feelings for him during the car crash incident, but it went a little overboard when she kissed a pig avatar. He seriously needs to change that God damn avatar when he gets the chance. And I really don't get that further acceleration bit. How does enhanced perception translate to moving your body at speeds not humanly possible? And wouldn't that have caused a massive strain on her heart? I honestly don't like the whole Taku development for reasons already stated but those reasons were turned up to eleven in this episode. So not only is he possibly cheating in Kendo tournaments but he spies on his girlfriend and possibly collaborated with/instigated the car crash that could've killed KYH and Haru. It will have to take one hell of a reason for all that not to feel contrived for me. However, I have to say I do enjoy the strategies that are employed in this little cyber battle royal. It's far more complicated that typical 1v1 fights. Haru was in more of a "Defend the fortress" type of situation this time.

OMG Reverse Moe
Wow, so Kuroyukihime went moe for Haru? Yes, I'll allow it. What pisses me off is how down he is on himself. I definitely want to hear what he has to say to her when she wakes up, at least not before he and Taku have it out. |
