Winter 2016-7: Your Expectations and Anticipated Series
The Upcoming Winter 2016-7 season is nearing faster than many expect (at least quicker than I am!); are there any series that you all are anticipating?

If things stay like this it's going to be a pretty quiet season for me...
Aside of carry-overs (Classicaloid, 3gatsu no Lion if I'm in the mood for it) I'm looking at: -Sengoku Choujuu Giga S2 (OK technically this is a carry-over, but any chance to pimp this show!) -ACCA -Rakugo Shinjuu S2 - the manga eventually ended up going in certain directions that I don't really appreciate, which dampens my enthusiasm, but still it's worth watching. -Onihei - nice character designs, nice cast, looks to be my cup of tea. Aaaand... that's it. Maybe I'll check out the Osomatsu-san special, but to be honest I've been pretty disappointed in the secondary stuff they've put out, so maybe I'll skip it to keep my memories pure (such as they are). |

Hmm, not sure what I think about the Winter yet.
Sequels I look forward for sure though: - Konosuba S2 - Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu: Sukeroku Futatabi-hen - Tales of Zestiria the X 2nd Season New series: - Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon - Little Witch Academia (TV) - ACCA 13-ku Kansatsu-ka - Youjo Senki

Konosuba 2, Tales of Zestiria, Rakugo Shinju, Little Witch Academia, ACCA (because it sounds badass), Youjo Senki (because that loli looks scary as hell), Rewrite's sequel, Akiba's Trip (for obvious reasons...)
I'll see that semi colon show Silver Link is doing, then there's KyoAni's Dragon Maid, J.C Staff's Urara moe show, that Kuzu show Lerche is doing (I'm not expecting much from it), and that Gabriel show Doga Kobo is doing (I'm a bit skeptical here about Doga's comedic skills but it'll look cute at least). Oh and Idol Jihen too (idols x politics) lol. And whatever else will air I'll see some of it. |

Hmm ... lets see ... no doubt other series will show up as the season gets closer, but for now I hafta agree with others' impressions of the season looking kinda weak. At the moment there is no tv series that I am really excited to see, though there are some I am interested in.
Greatly anticipating: Zeno-hen OVA pt 2 of 2; Mahoutsukai no Yome: Hoshi Matsu Hito OVA pt 2 of 3; Planetarian: Hoshi no Hito Movie. Mildly anticipating: Shouwa Genruko Rakugo s2; Demi-chan; Little Witch Academy; Piace no Italian; Kirakira PreCure a la Mode. Curious about: Urara Meichirou; Hand Shakers; Kemono Friends; Kobayashi-san; Nyanko Days; One Room; Schoolgirl Strikers; Seiren. Carryovers: Tales of Zestiria pt 2; Sangatsu no Lion; Nobunaga no Shinobi; Sengoku Choujuu Giga. OVAs: Ryuu no Haisha (2 eps).

Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu S2 - because the first season has always been my "Anime of 2016", and I hope the second season will fill the same spot on the 2017 roster.
Little Witch Academia - because I loved the two shorts and hope a full series will manage to keep up the level of fun. Kuzu no Honkai - hey, it's Noitamina, but maybe not classic Noitamina, but I've seen some of the manga and it could be good. Piace: Watashi no Italian - Read some of the manga on Crunchy, could be a nice laid-back cooking-related show, something to watch and relax. Kobayashi-san chi no maid dragon - just read the first volume of this, and it looks entertainingly daft. |

I will be checking out a few things this season, but I get the feeling this season will not have too many things I'll follow to the end, but regardless, here are my thoughts:
Planetarian Movie- Will definitely watch, interested to see where they take the story beyond the end of the visual novel. Chaos;Child- Sequel, will watch, even if I don't expect it to live up to the tier of Steins;Gate. Rewrite 2- Will check it out in spite of my disappointment at the last season Masamune-kun no Revenge- Will look at it at least for a few episodes, see if it stands out from the sea of other slice of life anime. Kuzu no Honkai- Will watch at least a few episodes, the description has me intrigued, if nothing else. Seiren- Might watch this just in order to see what exactly it is, given the series doesn't say anything (though, based on the promo picture, it clearly takes place in a high school- some sort of slice of life?) |
