Well ...
Okay, I guess it's possible this is just the early scenes and might become much better in the final product, but the CG ... Well, it's not that bad looking, and it's faithful to the designs, but I honestly prefer the style the original series had. But some of the less CG based scenes looked pretty good.A Witch! Burn him! (Runs after him with torch and fork in hand!)

I think in the massive battle sequences, CG might not be unreasonable if they want to have the entire scene animated and in motion while keeping the entire scene in view. What bothers me the most are the close-up character battle scenes which also look like they're in CG. Those look really weird and unnatural. It looks more like a videogame cutscene than a proper animated movie feature.

Eh I think it looks okay, I understand the CGI decision for the massive battles hopefully it will improve it looks rather gamey at the moment.
Don't you need to confirm she's a witch first? I'll grab a duck, you get the weighing scale.

So are they only adapting the Golden Age arc, or will the stuff after the Eclipse get adapted eventually? Personally, I hope for the latter. Although it did remove a few things, I think the first anime did a pretty solid job of adapting that story arc, so if they're only adapting that story arc, making 3 movies about it feels a little unnecessary.

well its canon that grrifith was the most feminine in the band of the hawk, so i think thats a job well done, and seeing the caps im thinking if they are of the first movie, it seems they are attempting to cover a lot in just the first movie.
