Sorry -- you're right. I had mistakenly said "four episodes" in my last message, when I should have said three.

LOL! It certainly feels like it.

I have to say that I'm really not a fan of this new approach where anime seasons don't properly conclude until special episodes air several months after the TV airing ends.

Bakemonogatari popularized a very annoying industry trend here, imo...

Bakemonogatari happened from poor scheduling by shaft, and this happened because it hit the point where there wasn't more manga content . So isn't really the same.

It's more similar than you would imagine. Achiga is slowed down because they decided to extend the show 3 more episodes than originally planned (apparently late in the show's development). They didn't purchase any additional timeslots, but that's irrelevant. Studio Gokumi is currently working on NakaImo since they were contracted to work on it at this time. They don't have the resources to work on new Achiga episodes at this time. That's why these extra episodes are delayed so much. Like Shaft, Studio Gokumi did not schedule well for this project.

And Saki hasn't reached a point where there isn't more manga content? You best be jokin'.

Well, not like anyone knows yet, but two interesting things:

1. The series is being re-broadcast on AT-X starting on the 24th of September. It's possible (but we don't know) that one or more of the new episodes could be presented as part of this re-airing (and so would air in December). They are doing a double-episode on the 24th, and then one-per-week thereafter, which leaves the right amount of time for three more episodes before the end of December... if they wanted to do that. (Disproven/clarified below. This idea is out.)

2. There will be a major Saki event on 28 October. It's possible (but again, we don't know) that they could air some or all of one of the extra episodes at that event, or they could announce more details about the episodes at that event.

So all that to say, there are still opportunities coming up when either episodes could be shown, or more information could be made available. We'll just have to keep waiting for now.

(In other news, the box that comes with volume 5 of the Japanese BDs looks great!)

Minor comment: it's 2 episodes a week for 6 weeks per site.

Ah -- you're right. I didn't get that from the Saki site, but the AT-X site is clear. It also mentions that it's 12 episodes. So much for that theory... (well, it was sort of far-out-there anyway).

I am having problems with the Saki PSP game, it does not seem to save progress though have lots of room on mem card. There is something that saves in options but nothing to load progress.

When will side A get a game >_<?
