chobits on dvd.. which one to buy?
I want to buy a chobits boxset cause I liked it. I've looked around on alot of websites that I found on google. Alot of places sell ones produced by FX and Geneon.
A boxset from FX is farely cheap around 35 bucks. A boxset from geneon is around 85 bucks. I looked on ebay and alot of people bid on the one by FX so I don't think its bad. Geneon includes 7 dvds in their box set while FX includes 3. They both have the same subbing and dubbing (english sub/english dub). But I was wondering how fx could fit 24 episodes on to 3 dvds. Could the quality be much worse? I was just wondering if i could go cheap and get the FX boxset without suffering consequences.(IE. Spelling errors on sub). I learned my lesson when I bought the dvds with the english/chinese subs. If anyone owns the fx edition id like some feedback. thanks. Last edited by NoSanninWa; 2006-01-09 at 23:20. ANY 3 disc full season series(20 eps and higher) is a bootleg. The highest compression I ever saw was 26 episodes on 4 dvds for an ultra cheap ADV thinpak collection. Don't support bootlegging and piracy, get the real thing.
I recommend "The Chobits Collection." It's Geneons thinpack release of the series. It has all 7 original dvds just like in the separate retail versions, plus it comes with an 8th "character soundtrack" disc. They put it in a package the size of two regular dvd cases(literally its the exact same size) cause it's got 4 thinpack cases with 2 discs in each one. It even comes with reversible slipcovers and a plastic slipover cover for the box. Really worth it imo since it's like 60-70 bucks if you look around. Again, don't support piracy and bootlegging, buy the genuine article. Oh and the "real" version comes with the 2 recap episodes, the ova episode, and the chibits mini episode. Total, the series is actually like 27 and 1/2 eps long if you count the extra eps/ovas. I don't think the bootlegs have those extras. |
