Yama no Susume (Encouragement of Climb) is getting a third season. Coming for 2018.

Plot/Premise

Aoi prefers indoor hobbies and is afraid of heights, but her childhood friend Hinata loves to show off her passion for mountain climbing. As young children they once watched the sunrise from the top of a mountain, and now they've decided to take up mountain climbing in hopes of seeing that sunrise again. They have cooking battles with mountaineering gear, climb small hills in their neighborhood, and meet new mountaineering friends as they learn the ropes of the hobby. When will they finally see that sunrise again?

The official website for the Encouragement of Climb anime franchise announced on Saturday that the anime will get a third season in 2018. The anime is also getting an OVA titled Yama no Susume: Omoide Present (Memories Present) this fall.
The OVA will have an event screening at six Aeon Cinema theaters starting on October 28. The OVA will center on a certain item that relates to the memories of Aoi and Hinata.

The video previews the anime's theme song "Omoide Creators" by Yuka Iguchi and Kana Asumi. The OVA will be about 28 minutes long. The OVA will have an event screening at 10 Aeon Cinema theaters on October 28.

The official website for the anime project based on Shiro's mountaineering-themed slice of life manga Yama no Susume/Encouragement of Climb confirmed today that its upcoming OVA Omoide Present will include two episodes, "Present 1 Summer Kokona's August 31" and "Present 2 Autumn Hinata's October 28."
Theatrical screenings of the two newly-produced episodes are scheduled to begin in six Aeon Cinema
theaters in Japan (two in Tokyo, Saitama, Chiba, Aichi, Osaka) on October 28, 2017, and its theater-
limited edition Blu-ray will be sold at the theaters at the same time.

Yama no Susume Girls Encourage Fans to Climb Mountains in Real World
The Japanese government added the national holiday Mountain Day in 2016. The August 11 holiday encourages people to explore their local mountains, which are abundant in Japan. Because the holiday is so new, some people in Japan remain unaware of the special day or its purpose.
Japan's National Mountain Day Conference and Yama no Susume Third Season, the Encouragement of Climb anime's third season, announced on Friday that the anime's five main characters have been appointed as "Mountain Day Ambassadors." Aoi, Hinata, Kaede, Kokona, and Honoka will help promote the holiday along with other ambassadors. August 11 also happens to be Kokona's birthday.

What a beautiful return for the series! I love the night hiking scenes and reminds me of how glorious the show is for its visual quality.

The ED theme song was also adorable. A nice start for the eeason.

I love it! I'm so happy to see these girls climbing mountains again. I didn't realize how much I'd missed it... somehow my eyes started tearing up during the episode.

I'm really happy to see Aoi planning to challenge Fuji again. Her failure the first time really hit her (and me) hard. I want to see her make it.

The ED sounds really good: a nice duet by Aoi and Hinata.

That was a really nice episode. Aoi and Hinata's friendship deepened a bit more. I didn't think Aoi would be ready to climb Mt Fuji again so soon. I guess she'll succeed this season.

i'm so glad i'm seeing more of this again. too bad they didn't go for full episodes this time it feel too short !
