Yeah, I think he means it as a father to all quincies rather then literal.
Good chapter, it had a lot of good info. A King of quincies who created them all and addressed the 1k years he was missing. People might say he will betray the king, but for all we know him and his father might consider it a great honor for her to have helped bring the king back via her death. but from a story standpoint it seems they will team up and end the terror.

So the fight for Orihime is about to come to pass...j/k
Shouldn't Ichigo be able to curbstomp Ishida if they do have to fight? Sure, I know Kubo tried to make it more possible with Ichigo unable to get a new zanpakuto but he's still a melting pot of powers... |

The answer to that is easy: Uryuu is gonna get trained. Or blessed by the king or hogyoku'd or have some sort of latent power in him awakened, as if he had any left to be awakened. If not then Uryuu's gonna get stomped, in seconds.

Kubo could write in some BS quincy power that completely shuts off all Shinigami and hollow powers for ~30 seconds or so while firing a hundred thousand light arrows. Oh and all only the king & his top 5 Subordinates can use it. Thereby making the king Aizen-level powerful except with less plans and no Hogyoukou, for now anyway. That's one way the "twist"(I think more people would be surprised if it didn't happen) could happen.

For now I'm just hoping that Ishida really did lose his marbles. |

But I think he's going to be more of a fake/temporary follower of Bach than a prisoner. |
