But there is no gap between S2 and this. Yes, S2 was not good for most of the time, but you can still justwatch it. And they recaped both sesons a it in ep 1.
I personally found this season start way better than S2 and closer to S1. Lwt's hope they'll keep it up.

At least they somewhat did what I wanted them to do: changing the director from Keitaro Motonaga to Kenichi Kawamura who has directed shows such as... Qualidea Code....and.... Steins;Gate 0?? ..........Oh no.

The recap in episode one isn't good enough, all I remembered from season 2 was that Haku got the mask at the end and faked his death, I don't remember the plot or any od the characters, except for the twins but that's because from time to time I see the cover of a few doujins featuring them.

Good start. Definitely feels like a nice return to form for the series. The previous season was a mixed bag in a lot of ways. But at least two episodes in, this one feels like it has things figured out. Now to see how things build up from here.
Good drama to be had as well. Haku carrying a heavy weight, including his own 'death' that needs to be maintained for the time being. But a lot of characters are suffering at this point. The Princess is seriously messed up from what happened. Nekone is having to pretend she's fine while maintaining these lies and not openly grieving. Or at least not being able to grieve for the person actually dead. And the overall situation is plenty tricky. And that's all before anything that could possibly happen with Kuon and Tuskuru.
