Also, he is a thief, how high is the chance he won't sell all the information about the gun to the highest bidder or just to anyone who pays some interesting price (including reverse engineered blueprint etc.)?

The Author of this Novel just doesn't put real thought of consequences of the MC's action. He also lacks the creativity to write battle scenes. Most fight end in one chapter and often the result is just mentioned in passing. To me the MC just doesn't deserve the many "accomplishments" that he gets in this new world. Most of it results from the plans of the wise Lyle-sensei, the real mastermind of the story.

^^ It's not only the plan, even most of the leading and management is done by her. He just tends to "be there", and that's all. I kinda wish Lyle went full male and became the MC of the story. It would even have an interesting main plotline with her drive to accomplish something and get revenge on her father. As for the invention... it's not like she couldn't just be smart enough to do it herself, get the knowledge from some far (eastern) country or in the worst case just find some texts from ancient reincarnate.
