What else can they do but kill Marcille? There is no way Marcille will give up on her wish, even pure elves don't live as long as she does, 1000 years, Jesus. And the average lifespan of short living races are like 50-60 and even elves only get 300 to 400 years. Ofc with 1000 years the humans and halflings would basically outbreed all other races, lol.
So either Marcille wishes for the demon to go away, which won't happen, or Laius and the other canaries kill her so that the demon needs a new host to take wishes from. Gotta say the cape-teleport fighting looked awesome.

Initially. But like the Canaries said, if the wish is strong enough the dungeon will continue to grow until the whole world is covered. And Marcille was like "all races" so the winged lion will obviously use this as reasoning to grow in power by using Marcille's soul until he can fulfill the wish in full. Marcille never said "all races in this place" after all.
The other two dungeon masters we have had pretty space limited wishes. One was about a single person he loved and another about a "kingdom" which pretty much was mostly a castle and its city. Marcille goes far and beyond such limits, I guess that's why the winged Lion chose Marcille over Laius despite showing up in Laius dreams and tempting him. Laius wish, while incredible on its own, would not see the power of the winged lion increase much as the dungeon size would remain the same. Plus given Laius and his obsession with monsters he could likely stay content and that's not what the demon wants, he needs new wishes and new demands to be able to feast on the soul of his "master". Basically he is fatting them up until the feast like he did with Thistle until he ate his last bits of soul/memory/feelings jewelry. Who knows how quickly the winged lion will decide that Marcille's soul is now ripe for pickings. Thistle only survived for so long because he broke up the demon into two parts and sealed them whereas the Canary Captain got done in pretty quickly by his demon. Who interestingly enough seems to be the same demon as the winged lion why else should he say he used to be a fan of his work? Also notice how Marcille demanded the elves not to be harmed/killed but when the winged lion covered her face he threw Mithrun, the captain, onto the wall with gusto. Same with how he let Marcille experience the full brunt of the dungeon eyes to have her cut it off instead of introducing it to her bits by bits. Or his question to "create a new Farlin". For a so-called servant he sure puts his own spin to the wishes and interpretations to the intentions of his master/s.

And we're back from the break! Laius' party recovers and their priority is clear: To save Marcille! However, neither Kabru or the one active Canary elf is making things easy for our heroes. They manage to escape, but can Laius keep his promise to Kabru and survive to eat a "normal" meal together when all is said and done....?!!!

Man, Marcille putting all levels on the same level is such a massacre for the higher levels and big feast time for the lower levels. Bet a lot of humies got eaten today. Will be interesting to see how Laius will deal with Marcille especially since now the Lion demon will try to keep her as his "mistress".

New chapter, fresh from the break! This one wasn't very eventful, though. Basically, it focuses on the "B-teams" on the upper levels as they experience the changes in the dungeon! However, it's interesting to note that rumors of Laius defeating the original dungeon master has already spread among the other adventurers.....

And a bump for the latest chapter! Long story short, despite everyone being under the (mistaken) impression that he's the dungeon master, Laius' old allies (orcs included) are all willing to defend him from the Canaries, nonetheless! I especially loved how all their positive stories about him centered around food, heh. But they also made an interesting point about him being lousy at taking on humanoid opponents. I mean, even when he fought Thistle, he managed to survive against him as long as he did because he took advantage of those dragons' weaknesses (and even that involved some luck on his part), so yeah, I think he'd be screwed big time if he seriously had to take on those elves by his lonesome.....

Glad to see so many people standing up for Laios...and their veggies...and their goods/money...well, at least they stand up and run away quickly. Unlike Laios who is about to drown because he cannot escape his teammates who are pushing him down. XD
Flamel looked awesome with her summoned swords, girl could have probably handled the whole rebellion against elf superior knowledge on her own, no kidding.

Whoops, nearly forgot to comment on the latest chapter! So, as Marcille continues getting used to her new role as dungeon master, Laius and the rest of the party are still being hunted down by the Canaries (or more accurately, their familiars)! Our heroes get captured, but thankfully some quick thinking on Laius' part distract their enemies long enough to alert their presence to Marcille... whose monster swallows the familiars whole! Now the party's adventure continues inside the beast's belly....!!!
And hey, we finally get a glimpse of Marcille's father! But I sorta can't help but feel that the lion is emotionally manipulating our half-elf friend by making that "doll" for her. Will he make dolls of the rest of her loved ones, as well....? |

A week late on commenting, but the last chapter of the year is out! Long story short, Laius' party finally reunite with Marcille. However, when she and the lion reveal what they want to do with the dungeon's power, Laius flat-out disapproves! Unfortunately, the half-elf is already showing signs of becoming corrupted by the dungeon, as she places her friends in "protective" custody in order to shield them from the Canaries! And now, we must wait until February to see what becomes of our heroes....

Kinda impressive that Marcille will live up to a thousand years, even outliving most normal elves. No wonder she is terrified of death, as in being left all alone with everyone dying around her. Glad that Laius refused to join the plan of having the dungeon envelope the whole world and "force-fed" everyone to live up to a thousand years, especially if stuff like how many children you get are still the same (looking at Halflings and Humans) and that the ball finally drops for him that the Lion Demon, who is just a "hair" of the same entity (god that thing must be huge!), is actually evil.
Next chapter they gotta plan how to take Marcille and the Lion Demon down or else they can think of plans on what to do for a thousand years.

First chapter of the year is out! Quite an interesting one, too. Laius and co. use the monster posing as Marcille's father to probe into her past and find a way to escape confinement! Naturally, this includes cooking a meal. Laius' plan almost seems to work at first, but unfortunately, Marcille wises up and runs out on Laius before he can further reason with her! The party manages to take out the doppelganger and escape their confinement, but it seems they're too late, as Marcille proceeds with the next stage of her scheme: to invade the surface with an army of monsters....!!!!
BTW, another interesting thing to note is that Laius realized he may have inadvertently drove Marcille to become the dungeon master during the nightmare incident from chapter 42. Chilchuck tries to wave off Laius' concern on that matter, but boy, would it be depressing if the party leader's theory turned out to be true.... he could be partly responsible for Marcille's descent into madness, and now the entire surface world could pay the price. |

Doppelgänger is an Octopus walking on his tentacles, wow. And he knew a lot. Even after his death, he knew things. XD
The memories from Marcille are really accurate. And she's ready to storm the Overworld with her monster army, even her eyes have gone full demon look. Here's to hope Laius and co can stop her before it is too late.

Next chapter's here! It's a bit on the short side, but no less eventful: Simply put, the surface world braces itself for doomsday as Marcille and the lion demon's monster army begin their campaign...!!!!
Oh, and also, looks like we have confirmation of an anime adaption, folks! |

HellyeahANIMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE ADAPTION~!!!!!!
Yeah, Dwarves and Elves are getting ready for a "in one day the world we knew ends" scenario while Marcille is getting ready to turn the whole world into a dungeon where everyone lives a thousand years like she does. At the rate this is going I'm starting to fear there won't be a happy ending for Marcille...

Daaaaaaaamn, the Canaries got owned badly. And the Captain was so close on killing Marcille as well but then she blasted his head off after the winged lion protected her. Also it's clear Marcille lost "fear" after the demon kissed her aka snacking on her fear, kinda horrifying. I guess with most elves down, now the Orcs and the couple adventurers gotta hold Marcille and the Lion back until Laius and co show up to save the day. I'm starting to worry if they can save Marcille though.
