"In my diamond storm, you will die! Diamond Dust!"

Daggerspell Stance: Less of a spell than a form of fighting, Emili focuses on extreme close-range attacks when Sidewinder is in this form.

Emili Kicku~, Second Gear: Emili fuses her daggers to her kicking leg with a series of dagger seals (think hand-seals but with daggers). She leaps into the air, spins, and uses Blitz Action to fall downward rapidly. The ensuing magical kick is usually enough to take down weaker enemies, especially cyborgs, which she tends to plow straight through (her legs can absorb the shock).

Emili Kicku~, Third Gear: This time, Emili uses Blitz Action to slide up and under the enemy before giving them a rapid series of kicks, flipping, then charging upward with her daggers held toward the opponent.

Emili Kicku~, Overdrive: Most powerful version. Emili uses a mix of Blitz Action and Shard Storm to give a rapidly flying kick accompanied by shards of ice. She then uses Blitz Action to rapidly warp around her opponents, kicking them rapidly and giving off the impression of afterimages.

Shard Dagger: Emili turns Sidewinder into blades of ice that can snap off in her enemy, then grow up.

Code Kirin: Emili's Ultimate attack. More powerful than even Polar Blast in that all of its attack goes to one opponent instead of many. Emili first summons multiple Ice Missiles and hurls them at her opponent. She then follows this by charging down with an Emili Kicku~, Third Gear, then stabs them repeatedly with Shard Daggers, all the while using Blitz Action. As this is Emili's final attack, and she always suffers from mana depletion after it, she rarely uses it.

Defense Spells:
Protection: Sidewinder's auto-guard.
Round Shield: Basic defense spell.
Barrier Jacket
- Daggerspell Jacket: Emili's BJ for Dagger Form. It morphs into a form similar to Fate's Sonic Form but white and blue. This form grants her increased mobility but reduced defense. And also, eye candy.

Other Spells:
Frost Coffin: A much-reduced version of Eternal Coffin. Emili freezes one person solid. Her bind spell.
Frost Fin: How Emili flies.
Blitz Action: Rapid-movement spell.

Well, for the time being, I have enough characters that will take central roles in GuardianS, not to mention some who will make a comeback later.

I can accept more OCs, but they would not become too "highlighted" in the storyline. Most of them would be given cameo or side-story roles, and I don't think it's nice if I juxtaposed the authors' painstakingly-written characters to such minor roles. >.>

Of course, if you don't mind that, I can accommodate more characters, but only in the final part. That is, if I don't make a huge blunder in confusing the many characters that will be in.

True, but since none of those were so... obviously red collored italic bold sometimes even ridculously sized, it's easier to swallow. Not to mention those examples are far more diverse then the same thing over and over.

She leaps into the air, spins, and uses Blitz Action to fall downward rapidly. The ensuing magical kick is usually enough to take down weaker enemies, especially cyborgs, which she tends to plow straight through (her legs can absorb the shock).

Emili Kicku~, Third Gear: This time, Emili uses Blitz Action to slide up and under the enemy before giving them a rapid series of kicks, flipping, then charging upward with her daggers held toward the opponent.

Emili Kicku~, Overdrive: Most powerful version. Emili uses a mix of Blitz Action and Shard Storm to give a rapidly flying kick accompanied by shards of ice. She then uses Blitz Action to rapidly warp around her opponents, kicking them rapidly and giving off the impression of afterimages.

Shard Dagger: Emili turns Sidewinder into blades of ice that can snap off in her enemy, then grow up.

Code Kirin: Emili's Ultimate attack. More powerful than even Polar Blast in that all of its attack goes to one opponent instead of many. Emili first summons multiple Ice Missiles and hurls them at her opponent. She then follows this by charging down with an Emili Kicku~, Third Gear, then stabs them repeatedly with Shard Daggers, all the while using Blitz Action. As this is Emili's final attack, and she always suffers from mana depletion after it, she rarely uses it.

Defense Spells:
Protection: Sidewinder's auto-guard.
Round Shield: Basic defense spell.
Barrier Jacket
- Daggerspell Jacket: Emili's BJ for Dagger Form. It morphs into a form similar to Fate's Sonic Form but white and blue. This form grants her increased mobility but reduced defense. And also, eye candy.

Other Spells:
Frost Coffin: A much-reduced version of Eternal Coffin. Emili freezes one person solid. Her bind spell.
Frost Fin: How Emili flies.
Blitz Action: Rapid-movement spell.

Whatever you need I'm your's to command in this vital mission to totally hook Hayate up. Anyway my guys aren't that complex you might even say they're simple. course this means I'm probably going to need to get off my ass and causally hammer our some spell lists, I did Alan recently all based around a fire theme, only like 8 more to go now.

Now this is an idea that I had been toying with before, but never had enough inspiration to write... until now.

Here's a short piece, regarding a certain group of mine, in an entirely different light.

Blank her face may be, but her mutter betrayed her barely visible shock. Her crimson eyes glared at her offender, the blonde-haired uniformed Enforcer sitting behind her ornate office desk.

“I am afraid it is true. Examinee Mai Enna, I, Fate Testarossa Harlaown, based on my assessment of your abilities, and evaluation of your aptitude by Private First Class Remington Smith and Private First Class Colt Wesson…”

She could not believe what she was hearing from this woman's words. It can’t be.

“Your performance in the Enforcer Exam has been deemed inadequate. You are hereby required to undergo six additional months of advanced combat training. Only after completion will you be able to retake the exam to assess your improvement.”

These were not the words she had wanted to hear. Not these unfavorable words. No, this was not happening.

“Any questions?”

Mai had but one. This one question, a query most important to her. Right now, within the swirling mass of questions bristling in her abject confusion, only one issue rose above them all. There was nothing else more relevant.

“…Doushite?”

With her soft, restrained voice she hoped for an answer. An explanation. A reason to this madness.

She begged for it. And she watched the three other people in the room with her steely, yet pleading eyes, waiting for a response.

“Why?”

She glowered. Remington Smith. He can give her the answer she sought, to tell her what she needed to hear. It had to be him. This is all a mistake right?

Isn’t that right?

So why? Why was she set back from her advancement? Why, after a year’s worth of intensive training in the span of the last eighteen months? Why, after all the sweat that was shed, the blood that was bled, the effort that was spent?

Why was it not enough?

“Because… "

Nothing prepared her for his words.

"I said so.”

Impenetrable Silence.

Such an impenetrable silence.

That was all that proceeded his cold words, and his calm unwavering voice. His sharp voice that pierced her then fragile heart, mercilessly shattering it into the abyss of uncertainty and despair.

For the first time since so many years ago…

She felt the sting of unbearable pain.

And from the wound in her heart, bled only her venom-laced misery.

"… sou ka.

Remi no baka."

And as the ominous glowing circle of Chaos formed on her feet, from the cracks in her inflexible steel mask of indifference, broke through her indomitable sorrow.

And her rage.

“REMI NO BAKA!!!!!”

This snippet spoke volumes already. Mai being disappointed at the results is to be expected and to have Smith give her the reason rather coldly surely will be an extra blow. Poor girl has no idea Remi's just concerned about her, not to mention since Mai is calling Smith 'Remi' surely suggests the progress of their relationship.

Part 1: Selection

“What? You’re making another round?”

“Yeah... If I don’t do something I will start going insane and murder someone.” Elric answered with a smirk.

The GAS Members at the Table laughed. One of them drew a card from the Deck on the table and put it in his Hand.
“Oh man! If this goes on like this, I really will lose my pay for this month.”

“Well, you still have those magazines you could bet.” Another one said.

“Never! Those are too precious to be handed over to the likes of you!” The other shot back, causing laughter again, before turning to Elric. “Oh well... But you have to join in when you get back here, understood Elric?”

“Yeah yeah... whatever.”

“And say hi to the docs for us.”

“Sure... will do.”

Elric left the tent and blinked into the evening sun that suddenly shined into his face.
A soft wind blew over the vast green plain that surrounded the camp. The plain was dotted with small lakes and ponds. Elric normally wouldn’t give them much attention but he was told they where remnants of a battle long forgotten.

After he shouldered his Device, Elric turned to only building in sight. Build from stone and metal, it withstood weather and time. How long was it forgotten before a recon team found it and reported it to the TSAB?
Elric couldn’t even imagine as his steps brought him to the door leading inside.
The building itself was small but that was only because it was just an entrance into a big underground complex.

Slowly Elric went inside and stepped down the path leading deeper and deeper into the earth. The air smelled old and used, additional installed lamps lighted the hallway. After what seemed like an eternity Elric came into the entrance hall.

The hall was big enough that 5 helicopters could land easily here, crates and digging equipment stood everywhere. Busy looking people in working clothes walked around, checked crates or talked to each other.
A bored looking GAS Member that sat right at the entrance greeting Elric and continued reading a data pad that may contain a novel or something similar.

Elric nodded to him and continued his way down another hallway. He heard that the archaeologists managed to open another chamber and he was interested in the new things they had discovered.

After a few turns he finally came to the place he was looking for. Like every new opened chamber, the place was mess. Smashed tubes the size of a grown man stood along the walls, what materials they had contained was something they could only find out after they searched for chemical remnants. There where tables made from metal, destroyed monitors and many other things Elric could only divine.

“Ah! Isn’t it Elric-kun!” A soft voice said.

Elric faced the speaker. He had a skinny, small body and was much older than Elric, his felted hair white as snow. The wrinkled face showed a smile like the one of a child and his eyes sparkled with knowledge and joy. He was a likeable old man who was in his element.

“Good evening Professor Scrya.” Elric greeted the leader of the excavation with a smile. “How is the excavation going?”

The face of old man brightened up even more. “Good! Very good! We are making a lot of progress! This chamber here is one of the most important so far. We know now for sure that this place once was a military research facility.”

“Military research...” Elrics glance around the room with a bad feeling. “You mean like weapons?”

“Err... yes... it seems so. “The Professor was slightly embarrassed. “Of course we will hand over all our discoveries to the TSAB and the Saint Church. The Scrya Tribe once lost a Lost Logia artefact it discovered, we will not allow it that something similar will happen again.”

“I know Professor! I’m sorry, I... It wasn’t my intention to sound suspicious towards you.”

“I know, Boy... I know. It’s just that I hadn’t much sleep last night, so I’m a little jumpy. Looks like this old body of mine is trying to tell me I should get some rest soon.” The smile returned to Scryas face.

Elric chuckled. “Thank you Professor. Well I think I better get going. Sorry I disturbed your work. Good bye Professor."

“Don’t mention it! If the other soldiers would only have half of your interested in archaeology this whole excavation would be much more fun! Oh! By the way...!”

Elric stopped a little surprised. “Yes?”

“As you can see, everyone here has his hands full. Would you be so kind and take this crate to the others in the main hall? It contains some of the already catalogued artefacts we found here.”

“Err... of course, Professor!”

Elric sealed his Staff Device into its Card Form and put it into a pocket on his Barrier Jacket, than he lifted the small crate from the ground and moved towards the exit. The crate was lighter than he had expected.
He had only made a few steps before he felt a humming deep inside him, irritated Elric stopped and began to look around.

“Is everything alright Elric-kun?” He heard Professor Scrya asking.

“I don’t know... what is this sound?”

“What sound?”

Then the earth trembled.
There was concerned mumbling all around Elric, he heard the rattling of the equipment, someone hissed in pain and somehow the small crate in Elrics hands felt suddenly hot.
The crate exploded.

It was like the time went slow. Elric saw the fragments of the crate bursting away in all directions, there were objects he couldn’t identify that followed them. One of them hit the side of his jaw and Elric felt pain as it sliced over his face, but he only noticed it a little bit.
All his attention was focused on the oval crimson stone that hovered there where the crate once was.

And then he heard its voice. A raspy metallic voice, male, with the neutral sound the most artificial intelligences have, but also with an undertone that sounded dangerous and somewhat insane.

[Activation!]

And all there was left was pain.


Elric sat upright, the blanked of his bed slipped to the ground. He was breathing heavy and his eyes were moving fast as they searched the room but couldn’t find anything dangerous. Slowly he realized that he had been dreaming. He tried to calm down, forcing himself to take slow, deep breaths.

He also realized that he was clutching his right forearm with his left hand. He forced his fingers to open. His hand shook and his fingers left white marks on his skin.
Elric wiped his face with his hand and looked back to his arm. His forearm was covered with black vines that wound under his skin. The vines reached from his elbow to the middle of his hand.

Elric had calmed down enough and turned his forearm so that he could see the other side of it, where the source of the vines was. It was an oval crimson stone that was buried half into his arm.

“Carnage...” he said the name of the ancient device quietly, as in fear that someone could hear him.

[Yes, my Lord?] The Device asked with the same voice Elric had heard in his dream only a moment ago.

“Nothing...” Elric mumbled. He needed a shower.

He really hated it when he was called during breakfast.

Elric was just in the middle of fighting a peace of fruit that bravely evaded his fork attacks as he was ordered into the old mans office. Oh well... he will have his revenge some other time.

In front of Brigadier General Baskirs office he stopped, checked his uniform, the bandage on his right hand and took a deep breath.

“Excuse me.” He said as the door opened and he stepped forward, but suddenly he bumped into someone who was leaving the office.

The young woman was a full head shorter than him. The only thing he saw first was her light blue hair and that she was wearing an AAS uniform, but then she raised her head looking at his face, her orange eyes wide open in surprise. Elric who was pretty surprised himself could only stare back.

“Thorn! Don’t just stand there! Come in!” Baskirs angry sounding voice brought Elrics attention back into the present. The young woman quickly stepped back into the office, allowing Elric to enter.

The Officer that sated behind his desk was surrounded with an aura of ruthlessness. His head was shaved leaving only his dark brown bushy eyebrows intact, his bright blue eyes staring unfaltering at his subordinate.
He was a veteran of many battles, the father of the Special Forces: Brigadier General Iskan Baskir.

“Sir! Special Operative Elric Thorn reporting for duty!” Elric saluted his commanding officer.

Baskir nodded, his expression became slightly softer. “Good you are here, son. I believe you already had the pleasure to meet Inspector Acous?”

Elric noticed the long haired man who was sitting on a couch at the side of the room. “Inspector.” Elric greeted him with a nod of his head.

“It’s nice to meet you again, Elric.” Verossa Acous answered with a smile.

“And this is 2nd Lieutenant Rinya Shuri A’Kalash from the AAS.” Baskir introduced the young lady Elric bumped into just a minute ago, his voice sounded a little displeased.

Special Forces Operatives aren’t required to greet ranks below the General ranks, so Elric simply nodded at her.

Rinya looked like she didn’t know what to do, but after an awkward moment of silence she stepped forward and reached out her hand. “Rinya Shuri A’Kalash... it’s a pleasure to meet you.”

Elric was hesitant at first, but then he took her hand and shook it. “Pleasure to meet you...”

“Good! Now that we are all friends we should proceed.” Inspector Acous stood up and walked to the desk. “Elric, you and Ms. Shuri A’Kalash will work together in your next assignment, so please be as cooperative as possible.”

Elric frowned. Inspector Acous knew that Elric wasn’t really able to work in a team, so why did he order Elric to do it now?

“Sir, that...” Elric began to protest but he hesitated as he realised that the Lieutenant was watching him from the corner of her eyes. “I will do what I can.” He said instead.

“Thank you Elric.” Verossa sounded relieved and sat on the edge of desk, what made Baskir throw an aggravated glare at him that he simply ignored. “Ms. Shuri A’Kalash was already briefed, so you don’t need to stay Lieutenant. I don’t want to keep you from your other duties.”

“Thank you Sir.” Rinya answered and saluted. “It was a pleasure to meet you, Brigadier General Baskir, Operative Thorn.” She turned around and left the office.

After the door closed Baskir sighted. “She seems like a nice girl. But I don’t think we need some nice girl accompany one of my operatives during a mission, Acous.”

“I already told you that this ‘nice girl’ was selected because of her specialization in melee combat, Brigadier General.” Verossa answered patiently, his eyes looking serious at the stubborn officer.

“Whatever.” Baskir grunted.

Iskan Baskir could have been Lieutenant General already but his main flaw was his pride and his suspicion towards other departments.
He created the Special Forces because he was unhappy with the TSABs inflexibility. He wanted to create a department of elite soldiers that were able to archive victory in every situation.

It was true that the Special Forces were a versatile deployable combat unit and their regulations allowed quick and unbureaucratic limiter releases.
However, the Special Forces were kept by TSAB High Command on a short leash. Nearly every operation was supervised by the Intelligence Department or a temporary commanding officer and support requests from other departments couldn’t be turned down.
So Baskir had really no other choice but to accept Verossas authority in this matter.

Sometimes Elric felt that the Special Forces were only a place to gather all the useful outsiders that didn’t really fit into the TSAB anymore.

Verossa sighted and turned back to Elric. “Elric, we called you here because of your battle against the Mantis Stalker last weekend.”

“Mantis Stalker?” Elric asked. “You mean the creature that attacked the transport?”

“Yes, someone in Research Department came up with this name.” Verossa cleared his throat. “Sadly, it seems that the creature you hunted down wasn’t the only one. We had three other Mantis Stalker attacks on three different planets in the last five days.”

Elrics eyes widened, it wasn’t surprising that there were more than just one magical beast but them appearing on different planets was no longer something that happened by chance.

“While TSAB was able to keep the damage on the first two planets as low as possible, the third attack was more a massacre than an attack.” Verossa continued with a dark look on his face. “The only stationed TSAB unit on the third planet was the 215th nature conservation corps. By the time other TSAB unites arrived, most of the 215th was already wiped out.”

Baskir suddenly interrupted Verossa with a sound of annoyance. “Maybe they should have learned how to fight and not how to plant flowers.”

“Brigadier General!” Verossa shouted in disgust. Elric never saw the Inspector in such fury and even his own face turned pale at the heartlessness of Baskirs words. “May I remind you of the important work the nature conservation corps is doing on many worlds?” Elric could do nothing else than look from one to the other. The tension in the room was almost solid.

“I was just saying that it would be better to train the conservation corps more in self defence.” Baskir said quietly after some time. It was the closest thing to an apology he would say.

“Of course Brigadier General...” Verossa looked like he had swallowed a very bitter pill as he faced Elric again. “We were able to dispatch the attacking Mantis Stalker by bombarding the locations they disappeared to. But it was always the same, the wounded Stalkers self-destructed before we could retrieve it. Research also reported that the creature’s self-destruction even destroys its DNA so we have no possibility to find out what those creatures are. We can make some guesses from the reports of eyewitnesses of course, but we need to be sure.”

“I understand, Sir.” Elric said as a sign for Verossa to continue.

“The Mantis Stalkers only attacked ground targets in melee combat.” Verossa had finally calmed down. “It is the only time they reveal themselves. Before that, they are nearly impossible to detect. Bombardment through aerial mages is useful after contact, but we already know that the possibility of a certain kill is very unlikely.”

“And this is where you come in.” The Inspector pointed at Elric. “You were able to take a Mantis Stalker down in one-on-one combat, even if he surprised you with his self-destruction. If you would be able to kill one before he can self-destruct, Research Department could get their hands on a specimen. This is also the reason 2nd Lieutenant Shuri A’Kalash will support you.”

“Yes, sir!” Elric answered in a neutral tone, he still didn’t know what to think about the aerial mage.

“Brigadier General Baskir will give you the details of your departure.” Acous was now able to smile again. “Thank you for your time Elric, I’m pretty sure we will talk again in near future.” He turned to the officer behind his desk. “I bid you farewell Brigadier General, it was a pleasure to talk with you.”

“The pleasure was mine.” Baskir said polite but with an icy voice.

Verossa walked out of the office but stopped in the door frame he turned around again.
“Ah, before I forgot! Elric?”

Elric turned to the leaving Inspector. “Sir?”

“Hayate wanted to apologies, she said she was letting you stay on standby for a whole night back than and nothing happened.” Verossa sighted. “She’s feeling pretty sorry because of that.“

Elric blinked surprised. “The Lieutenant Colonel? Why? It is my job, nothing to feel sorry about.”

“I understand.” The Inspector looked slightly surprised now. “If you insist that she can call for your personal aid every time she wants, I will tell her so.”

“Pardon?” Elric was confused now. “But...! But I didn’t say anything like...!”

“Oh my, how bold!” Verossa interrupted him, his eyes even wider now. “But okay... I will tell her that you said you would even die for someone as beautiful as her.”

“WHAT!?” Elric could only stare at Verossa in disbelieve.

Verossa began to chuckle and even started to laugh out loud as Elrics face turned more and more red from anger and embarrassment.

Verossa was still amused as he left the room. “You really should show this lively side of yours more often, Elric. It makes you cute.”

Elric was grinding his teeth and trying to melt the closing door with his stare as he heard the Brigadier Generals voice. “I don’t like this...”

The sound of Baskirs voice reminded Elric where he was. He turned around to face his superior officer. “Sir, excuse me for my outburst.”

Slowly opening her eyes, the figure frozen in a solid boulder of ice gazes outs.

"Darkness..."

A sudden flash of images appears before her golden eyes. Death. Carnage. A battlefield. Death. Death. A corpse. Death... And amongst them all, a shadow. A creature of the darkest night. A nightmarish, beast spawned from the depths of a dark soul. The black shadow of Death itself.

"What...?"

A sudden violent tremor which lasts for a few minutes, interrupts the figure's thoughts, jousting the person to a slightly more awake state.

"I am Clio..."

"I am Clio of Belka..."

"It is cold..."

"Sleep..."

And as sudden as she awakens, she drifts off to sleep eternal again. Minutes pass. With the departure of the Saint's Cradle, the seal that held the the icy prison from ever melting weakens dramatically. Be it destiny, fate or even the whims of a perverse god, a rock drops down and cracks the seal, starting the process to free Clio from the permafrost slowly. It may not happen within the week nor within the month but she will be free eventually.

By two Divine Busters in power, I mean the version from the first season, before Nanoha started getting cartridge happy.

It's not totally inconceivable when you consider that Nanoha was doing Starlight Breaker at the time as well.

1) The inability of control. When Id manifests, it pushes Glen down to below the subconscious, thus preventing him from knowing what's going on and putting Glen into a coma-like state. Thus, Glen doesn't have any memory of doing it, but flight cameras and flight cameras have shown Berserk State in action.

2) Mana depletion. During Berserker State, the raging fires are maintained by Glen and Id's combined mana pool. Since Id doesn't stop until completely running out of mana, Glen always comes out of the Berserker State unconscious. Given that Id has no regard for Glen's life (despite being an aspect of him), this usually means that Glen is somewhere in the sky, and if someone doesn't catch him, he'll die from the impact.

3) Weak defense. During the Berserker State, the Knight Armor opens up and becomes more of a cape than actual armor (rendering Id shirtless with a cape). The Knight Cape can still protect, and the bodily fires are also a sort-of defense, but a solid hit from a strong bombardment spell could stop him.

4) Rapid aging. During Berserker State, Glen's cells rapidly divide and die, thus aging his body faster than normal. As such, Glen, while only twenty-five, has cells that are pushing thirty-five.

5) Hospitalization. Every time Id releases Glen, he usually spends a period of time in the hospital. It's not a very long time (sometimes it's to recover from mana depletion; others to mend a serious injury), but sometimes enough to keep him out of commission for the next couple of fights.

That's all I can remember. That may have been it.

Grandis was a survivor of the Perfect Void Incident. He was saved somehow and brought to wherever he can be adopted. In this case, Saint Church. He knew Aurion from before (his family's home was where the Spectral Enforcers temporarily stationed before the failed infiltration mission) and also knew that Aurion was the one who set off the large Dimensional Dislocation that killed billions. The mere fact that Aurion still exists disgusts him. Thus, the cliche you-killed-my-family-and-destroyed-my-life-how-dare-you-live-freely-die-die-die! motivation... I guess you can guess why he got the rare skill, right?

As for Hayate... The setting is after RF6 disbanded. She and the Wolkies accompany Aurion as his bodyguards in a risky investigation regarding Lost Logia. Of course, powerful enemies abound with Grandis recruited. And we're set for a scene. I'm still thinking about the conditions of how they get to interact a lot. One is Hayate getting captured and her magic sealed (Don't tell me it's impossible. She can be limited.), another is a Lone Island Syndrome scenario, and yet another one is... need some more ideas....

Anyway, their relationship will start developing near the end of that misadventure and spans a few more years before they become an item. For the first few months, Hayate and Grandis would just have huge crushes on each other.

Aurion and Grandis get to reconcile the ghosts of their pasts as well. Grandis' position in TSAB later is not yet certain. Though I won't be making him an Ace any longer. And he'd get to work with Hayate on some occasions but not always. Oh yeah, one big Aurion vs. Grandis fight in the end; though not on bad terms.

Cliche, I know. But I want to pull this off.

The declaration silenced everyone present.

In the end, Arcas (somewhat grudgingly) passes Grandis, with the obligatory If You Ever Do Anything To Hurt Her.

When StrikerS started, Arcas had 6 characters he could call his little sisters: the Three Aces, Keroko, Sophia, and Caro.

By the time this happens, he's already lost Nanoha (to Yuuno), Fate (to Kha), Caro (to Erio), and possibly Keroko (to someone).

Arcas is feeling the desperation parents/older siblings feel when the younger ones grow up and become independent - he knows that he's still around, he's no longer one of the more important males in each of those girl's lives - and he's starting to have a problem with letting go.

And as sudden as she awakens, she drifts off to sleep eternal again. Minutes pass. Be it destiny, fate or even the whims of a perverse god, a rock drops down and cracks the seal, starting the process to free Clio from the permafrost slowly. It may not happen within the week nor within the month but she will be free eventually.

There has been no canon confession after StrikerS, everything is as it started out. Of course, we could take the final scene in StrikerS as evidence that Nanoha and Yuuno have started to be together more often, but we can't call it a confession.

Same goes for Keroko. After the departure of RF6, she became an enforcer, which gave her much more free time then she had when she was a captain/instructor. She uses that spare time to spend more time with her friends and familly.

History: Of all the people in the Order of Freelance Mages, Emili is probably the only one with a history not fraught with war and danger. She grew up a magic-user, going forward with a gung-ho attitude. When she was 14, she graduated at the top of her class and was on the fast-track to becoming one of the best officers the TSAB had seen in a while. While being A-rank at 14 was nothing terribly new (some of the best were S by 14, and Chrono was AAA at 9, after all), it was definitely nothing to sneeze at.

And then... Emili died.
It wasn't a real death, as she's still alive today. Emili's unit was patrolling a backwater world and uncovered a Jewel Seed. Under orders to recover such things as Lost Logia, the unit's CO ordered them to protect the area. When the recovery team arrived, someone messed up: The Jewel Seed exploded in a flash of power. Emili, being the farthest from the area, started to fly away, but was ultimately caught up in the explosion created by the "exceptionally powerful" Lost Logia. She was almost totally consumed. When rescue teams reached the area, all they found left of Emili shouldn't have survived.

They put Emili in stasis and moved her back to Midchilda. Under strict supervision, doctors began to piece Emili back together, amputating what would never work again and repairing what they could. What didn't work, they replaced with cybernetics - ironically, parts that were the result of Jail's Combat Cyborg research. Her right arm, left eye, both her legs, parts of her back and torso, all had to be replaced. A series of surgeries that went over the course of a man were how they replaced Emili's organics with cybernetics, and when they finished, she looked like she was merely... sleeping.

As her body adapted to the new conditions of her body, Emili slipped into a coma. The doctors used this time to fine-tune her body and continually change out certain body parts as she grew. The doctors found that there were advantages and drawbacks for her other than the obvious. For one, the replacements were imperfect, and affected her magi-tech; in short, it stunted her magic growth. Her body wasn't cybernetic enough to develop an IS system, so she would forever have a stunted magical growth. However, she would in turn have higher strength, natural running speed, stamina, and vision, above that of a normal mage. Although the advantages seem to outweigh the drawback, stunted magic growth meant that Emili would never rise to S rank.

When Emili finally woke up, she was 18 years old. At first, she experienced a sense of depression from having aged 4 years and from having non-human parts.

But something changed that. That something was Erick and the Order.

When Erick discovered Emili, he immediately wanted her in the Order. He talked to some people he knew and had her transferred over, welcoming her to the unit like he did with everyone else: with a calm tip of his hat and a "Welcome to th' Order'." Over the next year, Emili would become friends with everyone in the OFM, and thanks to people like Erick, Franz, and Glen, got over her depression and passed her AA exam at 19. To celebrate, the four OFM leaders (upon passing, Erick put Emili as XO of the Air Forces) went celebrating, and on the way back from the bar, Glen and Emili started a (still-running relationship).

Since then, Emili and Glen have been close. Emili herself has taken on an apprentice, Franz's sister Naomi, and she's also friends with the Aces and the Wolkenritter. Despite her semi-disabilities, Emili has never been happier (though her tsuntsun side will never admit this). Her dream is to break through what the doctors told her and reach S rank before she's 30. At AA Rank, she's almost there...

Device:
Emili's device is a Mid-Childan staff named Sidewinder. Custom made for her after she joined the Order, Sidewinder has all the gadgets that Emili likes; big guns. She loves bombardment and shooting spells, and so Sidewinder was equipped to handle those easily. Nonetheless, she's not afraid to get into close-range with anybody (as noted by one of her signature attacks, Emili Kicku), and so Sidewinder has two extra forms: Spear Form and Dagger Form.

Barrier Jacket: Emili's Barrier Jacket resembles Hayate's, minus the wings, hat, and book. The colors are instead blue and white.

She could not believe what she was hearing from this woman's words. It can’t be.

“Your performance in the Enforcer Exam has been deemed inadequate. You are hereby required to undergo six additional months of advanced combat training. Only after completion will you be able to retake the exam to assess your improvement.”

These were not the words she had wanted to hear. Not these unfavorable words. No, this was not happening.

“Any questions?”

Mai had but one. This one question, a query most important to her. Right now, within the swirling mass of questions bristling in her abject confusion, only one issue rose above them all. There was nothing else more relevant.

“…Doushite?”

With her soft, restrained voice she hoped for an answer. An explanation. A reason to this madness.

She begged for it. And she watched the three other people in the room with her steely, yet pleading eyes, waiting for a response.

“Why?”

She glowered. Remington Smith. He can give her the answer she sought, to tell her what she needed to hear. It had to be him. This is all a mistake right?

Isn’t that right?

So why? Why was she set back from her advancement? Why, after a year’s worth of intensive training in the span of the last eighteen months? Why, after all the sweat that was shed, the blood that was bled, the effort that was spent?

Why was it not enough?

“Because… "

Nothing prepared her for his words.

"I said so.”

Impenetrable Silence.

Such an impenetrable silence.

That was all that proceeded his cold words, and his calm unwavering voice. His sharp voice that pierced her then fragile heart, mercilessly shattering it into the abyss of uncertainty and despair.

For the first time since so many years ago…

She felt the sting of unbearable pain.

And from the wound in her heart, bled only her venom-laced misery.

"… sou ka.

Remi no baka."

And as the ominous glowing circle of Chaos formed on her feet, from the cracks in her inflexible steel mask of indifference, broke through her indomitable sorrow.

And her rage.

“REMI NO BAKA!!!!!”

And leaving the wake of these words behind, she was gone.

Fate T. Harlaown hung this sober question in the air, burying her head in her hands.

Their superior officer could only watch as she sighed heavily.

“I trust the both of you to resolve this matter with her.”

The two Linebackers turned to face her, determination in their faces, their two resolute voices as one.

“Of course we will.

Arcas and Grandis meet to have their fight, and Arcas lays down the rules: 15 minutes - 1 clear hit - no Breaker-class spells. He adds that if Grandis doesn't win this time, then he can try three more times, but can't challenge Arcas twice in the same 24-hour period. (Which is clearly in Arcas' favor - each time Grandis loses, the next time will be harder b/c Arcas will have copied at least a FEW of Grandis' spells)

As they get ready, Hayate and everyone else shows up. Hayate and her "Onii-chan" have a loud, emotional verbal fight. Haven't worked out the whole scene in my head, but the important parts are (in any particular order):

1 - Hayate informing Grandis that Arcas is not just a Dunamist, but THE Dunamist, leading Grandis to realize that his best chance to win is NOW, and that Arcas was cheating (legally, mind you) to swing the outcome in his favor. (Whether or not Grandis knows what a Dunamist is before this fight is up to you. If he doesn't, then Hayate or one of the Volkies could explain.)

2 - Scene Below:

"Why? WHY?" Hayate questioned, her eyes brimming with tears. "Why do you always drive away any guy who tries to get close?"

"Hayate, get out of the way."

"Never!" the Mistress of the Night Sky shouted, grabbing Grandis. "I'm not going to let you hurt him! I love him!"

The declaration silenced everyone present.

In the end, Arcas (somewhat grudgingly) passes Grandis, with the obligatory If You Ever Do Anything To Hurt Her.

When StrikerS started, Arcas had 6 characters he could call his little sisters: the Three Aces, Keroko, Sophia, and Caro.

Arcas is feeling the desperation parents/older siblings feel when the younger ones grow up and become independent - he knows that he's still around, he's no longer one of the more important males in each of those girl's lives - and he's starting to have a problem with letting go.

Pretty heavy stuff there.

On a more lighthearted note, can I borrow Liana and her health drinks? Some of this manga Chaos is throwing around has inspired me...

Actually I failed to clarify that point of name calling... Mai calls Smith that whenever she's extremely emotional, or dere-dere. She'd also call him Remi when she's extremely angry
