So, if it is a cat & mouse game, why did she create Kuon (Kuro's "eternal" body), when she didn't intend to use it anyway? Or was it just another trick of her, to set up the "game" with the enemy and, in reality, Kuon's body isn't what it is supposed to be?
So, all in all, she gave the enemy something, so they can build up the "stage" for Kuro?
I wonder what would happen if Kuro fails his mission? But then again, Kuromitsu would come to his rescue, like she did in the situation with the vine-woman.

It was Kuro who killed Kuon. Not Kuromitsu. I think she fully intended to use him to end that process. But since he's gone and Hasegawa is dead, she no longer has the means to create a body like that. So the cycle ends up repeating.

The only confusing thing I think would be the similarities of the characters in the series in that sequence at the end (that and the technology). But they were clearly different scenes up until the last one. In which case an overview of that scenery showed that too was also different. As the landscape is vastly different from what was shown in episode 1 (from what I recall at least). So it likely wasn't a "dream", just him having somewhat of a memory jump start and noticing the similarity himself. He himself stated "I feel that this has happened before."

It's a flashback to the beginning of the series. It's a reference to the fact that Kuro's ordeal was an ever-repeating cycle of looking for Kuromitsu.

it is not a dream it is a cycle at the end you see the light coming form Kuromitsu house i perfer the manga ending wher you know Kuro and Kuromitsu are together for eternity. the anime is a cool action story and manga is a great love story so i wood say the manga is beter story

Take Rai for example. She dies at the end of one of these cycles. Then she's shown again in either a flashback or maybe as a nod to the next cycle in a similar yet different situation. And really almost everything we're shown/told you can find another point in the story where they contradict it by word or deed.

In the end Kuromitzu tells Kuro: "I have your body. Use it" Meanwhile we see an image of Kuon in the background.
I would think that Kuro getting Kuon's body would mean an end to the cycle: no deteriorating body, so no more need to cut off his head.

I think Kuon's body smashed to smithereens at the end of ep 11, so I guess he's got to do at least 1 more 'round' and make sure not to harm Kuon's body too much this time?

And I'm a bit at a loss bout Benkei: so he was the Red emperor?

Btw I still think Kuromitzu isn't the villain. Imo she sided with the bad guys cause she needed help making the 'eternal body' and trusted Kuro's strenghth to overcome the obstacles

That's not exactly what I meant.

Kuromitsu could have easily prevented Kuon from dying or make sure that the body is safe. Point is, she let it happen and therefore, I don't think she wanted to end the process (analog: Kuromitsu rescued Kuro from the vine-woman or else, he would have died, means: she took part as some kinda "director"). In my opinion, I don't think the cycle has ended yet. Yes, Hasegawa and Kuon are dead, but that doesn't mean she can not set up another game. I say, the "Hasegawa/Red Imperial Army"-game/saga has ended. Time for her to create a new one. I am def not saying, your opinion on that is wrong, just different though.

Yes, Benkei functioned as the Red Emperor. After Kuro slashed the original one in the past, Benkei became the next one. Since he was/is after Kuromitsu, which is the real reason behind the whole organisation, and he somehow has a very long life span, it all came in pretty handy i guess.

As many previous commentators already said and so do I, there's much room for interpretation. So everyone has his own view of how the story concluded/ended.
I don't think there's a 100% right or wrong. Or let's email the production team.

Well, they actually do have sex--it's not shown too explicitly in the anime, but the first episode is quite obvious about it anyways (the manga is much more explicit).

Why would that make it false? It just points out the repetitive cycle (plus, due to the appearance of the whole thing, you would guess that it was a much earlier epoch than the one we've been shown the most). I admit that Rai appearing again surprised me a bit, but still, it could either be a red herring or a storytelling license in order to put a point through (though it might have thrown off a lot of people, apparently).

Oh boy, watching this series was like going through the Dark Tower series (Stephen King) all over again. The storytelling technique and overall concept employed in both series are pretty much identical. Replace the Dark Tower with Kuromitsu, Roland with Kuro, and you have Kurozuka in a nutshell. Now, I'm not saying there's copy-pasta suspicion in either case, but the similarities between the two series do warrant a comparison.

I got to watch the ending. I sat back and relaxed, then appreciated the ending for what it was to me, a tragedy for the main lead.

I am starting to believe that one of the reasons Kuromitsu still plays this cat & mouse game with Kuro is to keep their passion burning. May they be reunited for good, there are chances that their love for each other will burn out, or worse, turn into bitter hate. Because nothing last forever, even for immortals.

Perhaps the negativity of the public regarding the ending made me appreciate it even more.

Now that this series is over... I can openly say I hate Kuromitsu and I hated that everyone seemed to be in love with her... (the ones that admitted to it). -__-;

Since it was the love tangle that Kuro and Kuromitsu had that *seemed* to be the core of the story ... the ending was fairly unsatisfying. However, the scope of the story and the flair of presentation were pretty good rides; as a friend said, "the damn thing is dripping with metaphors, even the walls".

Yep. The nature of their little love tangle is what made me watch the first few episodes. I could've expected a a better conclusion.

So finally decided to watch this series again, or rather the last episode (stopped at 07 or something out of annoyance, but decided I couldn't leave a series incomplete so I had to watch the last episode). At first I was all damn, that Kuromitsu is one crazy woman, but then the ending changed all that...... so it was all a dream or what?

OMG ! The end ! It was great and good fighting blood !(with the lake of blood )
But Lol ! Finally Benkei was the singer !And once again Kuromitsu cut Kuro's head !And he have to find her once again and forever !! So she will cut his head always and always until the eternity !!!!! If i was kuro , i will kill her , she plays with him cause she don't want to be lonely to the eternity !!
Truly .... the story restart forever !
