Tickets for that pre-release event sold out in a day. It appears the episodes are five minutes long, but we have no idea how many of them there are. It's possible that each week's broadcast consists of four five-minute episodes. Other anime have numbered themselves in a similar way.

I hope the NicoNico streams will be the uncensored version. At least I think I hope that, lol. (As hamazura says, "gross and disgusting." And yet somehow fascinating.)

It's an OVA cut up into 4 minute sections. And it's not even uncensored. What a waste of time.

I’ve never read the manga and know nothing of the story. I just read a synopsis and though it sounded cool. So, when I finally actually see this show, I am simply confused beyond belief. Not only does nothing make sense, but they are going through events you get the feeling should take longer and they’re streaming through them a breakneck speed, basically only giving you the cliffnotes and hoping you figure out the rest.

I’m sorry, but I’m going to have to drop this. If I watch shorts, they usually only episodic comedy ones, not ones that have an ongoing narrative and plot. It takes a lot of talent to pull something like that off, and I’m doubting Pupa has that ability.

This show would've probably worked better if the episodes were at least twice as long. Three minutes to build a story that continues over several episodes is way too little. By the time anything gets done, the episode is already over.

And given the censorship, I'm debating between watching it, or just wait for the BD to be released, so I can view everything in one go, and uncensored. The art is very appealing, and I like the OP and ED, but it's just too damn short.

Spoiler for Episode 1:

The first episode was way too short and it's obvious it won't work very well as a short, but at the same time, as someone who wasn't a fan of horror anime, it works better to withstand pain for 5 minutes and not longer. From what I watched the first episode, it was too nonsensical: why does Utsutsu have blood splattered on his face even before his sister gets metamorphosed into a monster? What's the point behind the mysterious woman's presence in pupa? How Yume gets turned into a monster as she gets killed? There's way too many questions to witness it and the mystery felt poorly done right now. The visuals were average and there was nothing unique about them, the background art was good but it's unfitting for shows like this and the music, although sloppily timed, worked pretty well especially at the end. I usually intolerate censorship but looking at the shocking moment of episode 1, it's better for me to not watch what's inside the black bar because of the genre. The theme songs are as short as the series' length but otherwise decent. Unfortunately I really can't continue watching the series because I don't enjoy excessive violence very much especially in such series that portrays that in a very grotesque manner.

I tried ep 1 and just could not do it. Such (censored) gore and violence is just not my thing. Sorry. Dropped.
