In a way, it's like the current practice of carrying weapons suited for the roles that the infantry will use/need: sniper rifle, SMG/PDW, carbine, grenadier carbine/rifle, DMR, etc etc. I thought that the current CQB trends were moving away from SMGs to carbines, though?

Depends SMG and Carbines both have their ups and downs, but the big edge for a carbine is it uses the same bullets as your LMG and ARs and maybe even DMR, which saves money and eases logistics quite a bit. If it's just shooting magical bolts of energy though the disticntion becomes more abstract since really caliber is what makes an SMG to begin with.

Pretty much, this raid for instance will involve in or around 200 men for instance when I say platoon I mean “infantry platoon of around 50 guys” and this force isn’t anything like majority of the regiment, the write up is here I can’t recall if you where around when I did it.

Rag doll physics can always be counted upon for a few good laughs in any game that uses them… On of my favorites is a case of whacky vehicle physics… in an RTS. In company of heroes tanks can sometimes for some reason drive into areas they shouldn’t be able too. (mostly small rivers or streams), they then often begin to sink into said streams (but not in a realistic way I mean like clip into the banks and shit) and begin bobbing like it was sort of floating and sometimes it’ll start to spin as well. Then after a bit the game will seem to go “wait you shouldn’t be in their!” and the thing will launch out of the terrain like a rocket, often upside down or still spinning as it flies into the air, and then just teleport back to a place a few feet away from whatever it drove into.

Never fails to make me giggle... well assuming it's not a Tiger Tank I desperately need to fend off a pack of Sherman's, then it's not so funny.

Oh, I have all sorts of crack ideas for him. The OFM might well be interested in him - though he'd in turn become a bit different from canon Master Chief. (For one thing, at this age, I'm guessing he'd be a Petty Officer 2nd or 1st, not yet at Master Chief level, assuming he enters as a TSAB noob.)

I wouldn’t be so sure… people with any skill seem to rise awful fast Reinforce is a fucking Sergeant Major for Christ sake! If we use my history then he’s been around something like ten years, so at least as long as the ace the lowest ranking of which are now captains and one of whom has a position you’d normally expect from someone like twice her age.

Oh, yeah. That was a colossal fuck-up of epic porportions. That said, there were some things that weren't too bad; Major E.J.Land used a WWI Sniper Manual as the basis for teaching fieldcraft to his sniper school candidates in Vietnam, before the USMC sniper curriculum was revised and rewritten and eventually became something uniquely Marine.

Snipers as we know them really began in WW1, but though they had some of the tactics they didn't really use them that effectively mostly they just went around shooting at random guys in the trenches.

Of course insects are bad! I've been stung by about 15 bees, bitten by several hundred ants, and gotten my blood sucked out by mosquitos more times than I can count!

Well, in truth there really are no 'true' rules to the God cards. Most of the rulings are based on what's shown in the manga and TV series and there are some inconsistencies. Cards have been known to affect them. It's just that that are immune to the effects of cards the would destroy them directly, but not immune to status-altering (reduced attack, unable to attack, etc) although only for one turn. This includes 'resurrection' type cards. I get most of my info from Edo's page on the God cards.

Don't believe that shit test. If you come up with a good idea and you want to go somewhere with it, let the pen pushers whine about "generic" characters. By that test, both of mine scored as paragons of Mary Sue(they're not).

I can't think of any OC here that would fall into that description. Besides, this board is about creation and backlog, not some litmus test for overuse. [/rant]

Yeah I don't really trust it at all. Of COURSE the main character of a story is going to score high on it... Well... That and I always name OCs after myself... Some anyway. Which is apparantly 'Mary-Sue HUGE NO-NO #1'

The reason I don't like that test is because it's one-dimensional. You can't put backstory or flavor through a "generifier" screening, so there's no way to factor in a character's quirks or unique attributes. Besides, I have a hard time seeing how most characters, canon or not(and this goes for about any series I can think of), don't have SOME of those "generic" traits. And also, there's no way to factor variations on them! If I can make pasta appear out of thin air, and I use it to do some of those things on the test, nobody's going to call the character "trite," but the test will.

I really don't like tests like that in general, just because they can't take the character into account the way a real, thinking person can. Gets me kinda worked up, ya know? Which is why I'm ranting again. I need to stop this.

It's ok, a good rant once in a while is nice...
And I thought about that really. It's a test that only applies in a highly generic or 'true' setting. Like... Ok, one of my OCs is female. She wears pants. But this suddenly nets her Mary-Sue points. Another is a mercenary, again neting Sue points because it's not a traditional female job. So I imagine of course, Nanoha CCs and OCs, would all score extremely high.

A few seconds the device beeped. 38.1 degrees.

Just a mild case of fever then, Grandis thought.

You're probably right with how you've portrayed it's use but how many times do we actually see Sonic move used in canon. I think the most we've seen it is once or twice per battle so that should be a good guide for you.

1. As per normal soccer except for a few different rules
2. All players are allowed to use magic except the one in possession of the ball.
3. Devices are allowed
4. Attack magic may not be used on other players or the ball directly.
5. Binds can only be used on devices
6. Damaging the ball is an instant free kick
7. Flight or anything that can substitute for it(wing road) can be only be used for 3 secs at max

Unlike his brother, Clyde's rare skill is the ability to see/read the 'good' thoughts of people, like their happiness, self-sacrifice, love and such... And unlike his brother, Clyde has much difficulty controlling his power. Because of this, he finds it extremely difficult to focus in a fight as visions of his opponents' 'goodness' floods his mind.


When the two brothers were 10, their master had died from an mission to rescue her fiancée. From that point on the two brothers parted their ways, Clyde joined the TSAB with the intention of becoming the great heroic mage who protects the innocent like his master was. However, knowing that Jeno is out there doing evil, Clyde decided to volunteer himself for the frontlines. Believing that the immediate combat experience would improve his skills at a faster rate, all so that he could defeat Jeno one day as he believe his brother to be the greatest threat to the safety of the people.


In order to counter the effects of his rare skill, Clyde has crafted a white mask that would block out it's effect whenever he puts in on. A side effect of this item is that Clyde soon begins to develop an alternate personality whenever he puts it on, becoming cold, calculative, and merciless... Allowing him to fight and kill without remorse.


Along with his black barrier jacket, he effectively gains the nickname as the "Black Reaper".


Military History

Signed up for military services at the age of 10. Exceeded expectations in cadet training within just under six months, and was immediately assigned to an experimental special task force unit in the Mid-Childan Armed Corps.

The unit’s missions involve being the first to be sent in to deal with extremely hostile territories with very little to no intelligence of the situation. For the next 1 ½ years, he and his unit were being sent to several administrative words to contain military up-rising and potentially apocalyptic crisis, as well as securing many alien worlds for the Bureau to colonized.

In his third year of service, he was approached by Admiral Gil Graham with a request for him to join the Dimensional Counter-Terrorism Division that the Navy was about to form. Accepting this proposal, Haralown was transferred back to Mid-Childa and was assigned to mobile division Riot Force Three (RF3) for the time being. During his stay with RF3, Haralown took this time to further his studies in preparation for his Enforcer examination which Admiral Graham applied for him.

One year later he finally completed the examination and was made Enforcer. Soon after, Graham’s own the Counter-Terrorism unit was established. Code-named as Crisis Force, this unit has been tasked with the confiscation and decommission of conventional, chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons, as well as the arrest of the traffickers involve. Though not an immediate priority, Crisis has also been granted permission to handle any Lost Logia related incident, should there be a situation where no Riot Force unit could be reached.

Enforcer Haralown was just recently transferred to Crisis Force...

Off to a good start!

She was only a dark shade as she ran from cover to cover, searching the sky for movements. Of course she could fly, but the risk of being spotted was just too great. Then a figure clad in black armor was there, appearing close to the mage, like stepping out of a cloud made of shadow.
The mage couldn’t even react as claws pierced through his upper body, blood dripped out of the corner of his mouth. Shortly after, all life vanished from the mages eyes.
His attacker pulled the claws out of the now dead mage. She saw his face, saw the two old scars he had. She knew who he was, she could feel the wrath inside her. Traitor! The word echoed through her skull.

As if he had heard her thoughts the man turned his head in her direction. His skin was unnaturaly pale, black veins wound under his skin, reaching nearly into his face. His glowing eyes searching the dark. He had seen her, his eyes widened a bit as he recognized the teenage girl. His expression changed to a smile, the claws that expanded from one of the black Devices on his forearms retracted.

“Ho? Isn't it Vivio-chan?” His voice sounded to friendly for someone like him. “It's been a while... are you well?”

Vivio’s hand clenched harder around Raising Hearts shaft but she left her cover, now that she was discovered it was useless to hide any longer. “Elric Thorn.” she greeted the man with an icy voice.

Elrics smile grew to a grin. “It's been a while since I heard that name. But you know that I am not him anymore.”

“Yes I know!” Vivio spat out. “He died back than, buying time for us to flee. But than he changed sides and became an abomination!”

“It was a gift, you ignorant brat!” Elrics eyes blazed brighter with anger. “I should be dead but He from the Great Beyond endowed me with his power!”

With a jerky movement of his arms, the claws from both his Devices sprung out. Vivio pointed Raising Hearts tip at him.

“You know...” Elric suddenly continued. “You really could join us. You, who has the power of the saint king.” He was smiling again but this time without any warmth. ”What do you say? Will you join us like you aunt or will you die like your mother?”

“Do not dare to mention her with your filthy mouth!” Vivio screamed, clutching her mothers Device tighter. “She gave her life for me! I will never join the likes of you, I will send you screaming into the abyss!”

“What a pity...” Elric answered with a calm voice. “Say 'hi' to your mom, girl!”

Elric suddenly stormed forward, but before he could reach her an explosion between the two brought him to a sudden halt. “Carnage!” A voice shouted and a woman landed beside the slightly startled Elric. “What do you think you are doing?”

The newcomer was clad in a similar armor like Elric. Like him she was unnatural pale which emphasized her crimson hair. Even more noticable were her eyes. Two molten orbs, as if staring at the flames of creation, and two large, almost ethereal dragon like wings that potruded from her back. One of her arms was extended and pointed accusing at the man who was today mostly known as Carnage. Vivio froze, her courage left her. A battle against one of the Dark Generals was hard but against two it was impossible. And it was her.

“How dare you to go after my pray!” she said angrily.

Elric sighed. “First come, first serve. This is my battle!”

The woman shook her head. “Not anymore. This girl is mine. Don't lay your hands on her!”

“So that you can have all the fun? What is in for me?” The question had a threatening undertone.

“What if I tell you that your girlfriend is leading a raid in southern central to free some of the slave camps?”

Elric looked at her in surprise. “Really? Rin is?” The woman nodded only as answer.
After a pause Elric turned around. “She is getting cocky lately...” he turned half to other Dark General and smiled. “I will enjoy ripping the flesh from her bones! Have fun with this one Nel-chan.”
Carnage, the Dark Lord of Shadows made a step forward and vanished in a shadow cloud that dispersed like a candle that was blown out.

The remaining Dark General faced Vivio, who slowly pulled herself together, her face showing a expression of deep sadness. “Keroko-oneechan...” she whispered.
“Vivio...” The Dark Lady of the Black Aspect looked astonished as she heard her old name, in her eyes flickered a trace of her old self, but only for a short moment.

Keroko slightly shook her head, rising the axe-like Device that once was Artherion.
“I'm sorry, but this hunt must end now Vivio.”
