Basically it's just Zettai Zetsumei Toshi (or Disaster Report), but with confirmed crossovers of Godzilla, Ultraman and possibly an Eva unit.

Story takes place in Ichi City where players either take the role of Ken Misaki (Male) or Miharu Matsuhara (Female) when the Kaijus rampage the city. They need to escape while escorting a girl named Yuki Kanno.

What's known so far is that Ken/Miharu's appearance can be changed, including their name when you start the game. Yuki's appearance can be changed and the relationship she has with the protagonist can also change from being a good pal or you can be in a relationship by the time the game ends.

At some point, you can use vehicles to help escape. Only thing confirmed is the use of motorbikes.

I could careless with Godzilla and Eva but Ultraman just wow wow wow awesome!

Yep. Pictures of the game showed them and the shadow of an Eva unit is also portrayed.

Given the apparent resurgence of interest in survival-type gameplay elsewhere, it seems logical that someone would exhume said series (whose deep-sixing I thought a shame) and build on it; the crossovers/cameos are just icing. That you can customize the protagonist's appearance is a nice touch - I wonder if the game goes further and has various outfits you can find in the world... some, I think, would be unlocked by finding certain sets of collectibles (which could also serve as vehicles for lore).

Even more interesting: Granzella's head honcho is apparently none other than Kazuma Kujo, who'd created the ZZT/DR IP in the first place and left Irem after the series' fourth outing was cancelled in 2011. He'd since reacquired the IP, and aside from CSiS, seems to be busy working on a remastered ZZT 4 (reference)...

Depending on how extensive the character customization system is - even it's as relatively simple as seen in, say, The Division - players can do that themselves if they're so inclined; no need for Granzella to do something that's not exactly been well-received in other places it's appeared.

Trailer is due to be out by the 6th, Japanese time.

Latest reveals include the two Ingrams, the Pyro-Buster and the Grau Bear labors.

There's some DLC clothes too.

Patlabor? Now there's an interesting name from the past; good on Granzella for making the nod, as well as harking back to this title's spiritual ancestors. Given its distinctive, and intimidating, silhouette, I'm surprised the Griffon isn't here... as far as we know.

Even worse. The article indicates that some of the non-police labors in the game (including the CRL-98 Pyro-Buster) are driven by terrorists.

The new 2017 trailer has that sweet shot of the Ingram rappelling into an abandoned office building.
