There might be 1600 years ago. We only know he has lived for at least 800 years, but no guarantee that he can't be as old as a dinosaure。

So I am hoping 800 is the limit for him before he dies.

Doesn't he need quality blood to transform so maybe if he uses Kidd's blood he can get back to his original 800 year form

I doubt that we will have to worry about that. There isn't any point in going back beyond 800 years ago anyway, regardless how old he is. That time was when he was in his prime anything before that he would be weaker.

And one point I noticed in the raw having seen a translation of the dialouge:

Kid's stripes. The bottom one temporarily increases in length round to the other side of his head. Not sure how I missed this first time round. Probably was going too fast.

Of course it's very unlikely he goes beyond 800 years ago, but since there is no mention when was his prime, there is still possibility.

Btw, 100 years ago was hardest of him, 200 years ago was quickest of him, 400 years ago was greatest number of him, any guess about what was 800 years ago?

I have just read the chapter and I was surprised you didn't mention it. Those are named Sanzu stripes in this chapter, which refers to Sanzu River, the passage to afterlife. Kidd needs to complete all 3 stripes to be an adult and achieve full power of death god.

I'm a little confused, what witch's brew was activitated here, to amplify Kidd's powerup?

Naturally, they'd need to have a convienient power up, but complaining about that in shonen is a no-go, so AT LEAST IT WAS REALLY FRIGGIN COOL LOOKIN.

Incidentally, Ookubo seems hitting a transitionary point with his artwork. I noticed it gradually scince the beginning of Arachnophobia arc especially.

He's making more solid drawings, better line work and more interesting stylized posing of the characters. One problem is that he's getting a little too detailed, so it's getting harder to read for me. One Piece has the same problem recently, too much detail which clutters the page. His layout always was fairly good though, and his color pages get cooler and cooler (although this one was kinda hard to read).

All in all good fun.

Kirikou did something really stupid at the end of the chapter. He should have gone to where the lock was and destroy it before fighting the soldiers. God knows what those guys can do.

The only that I wished was that Eibon wasn't on Aracnhe's side. Maybe it's just me, but I would have perfered him as yet another seperate side or a wild card in other words.

There really should be a list of the characters' names and what they are referencing, cause I've never heard of the origin of Kirikou's name before.

I have yet to see any justification for that. Kirikou in Japanese has the same spelling as his name, and there's the obvious African connection.

Actually I found his response to the situation more normal then any of the other characters.

Eibon is actuality a bit of wild-card, and not the ally of Arachne he appears to be at the moment. But that's only because we know so little about him, and that he was a friend of pre-Shibusen Shinigami, who himself was a nasty piece of work. Still is, in some respects. I think things would be even more interesting with a bit of conflict within Arachnophobia.

@herbert - Yes, I've caught onto the lines bit after I posted. I was pointing out more that I missed the difference in his hair first time around, not the significance of the stripes.
