The ORIGINAL Legend of Zelda. Nothing is harder than trying to find dungeons that are hidden beneath regular trees and side of mountains and getting absolutely NO hint whatsoever to where they were, not to mention how much dmg you took from normal hits. There was no mention of having to need to get the silver arrows, your weapons, swords, or nothing.

Megaman Zero definitly ranks high up there for me.
Any of the Xenosaga games in terms of Rpgs. I mean it took me several hours to beat some of the bosses in those games. One regular boss took me three hours before i beat. The Castlevania's were pretty tough too.

Yes, you are correct. Although the reason that I find it difficult to play is because I am too scared. Thus it makes it difficult to me.
I know I am twisting the meaning of the question, but it does still somewhat make sense. |

Eventually, I beat it. To this day, I don't think I ever played a tougher game. |

Currently, hardest game I've ever played was Resident Evil 4. Even though you're meant to die, I still find it hard. |

Hardest at the moment? Ace Combat 6, with enemies spamming missiles and bullets like crazy, and with more flak than downtown Hanoi.
Meanwhile my nephew tries to take on the hardest track -- Dragonforce's Through the Fire and Flames -- on Guitar Hero 3 (which is beyond my current hand-eye coordination ability that I watched with my mouth agape).
