Ah, who know? As you know might know that everyone have a hard time to figure out what Chao is thinking...or couldn't...never.

Geniuses always have one or two twisted habits (or hobbies).

They are a bunch of damn hypocrites then, seeing as they apparently aren't allowed to kill, but... their ultimate objective is to basically kill. LOL WHAT.

Seriously, though, KE's whole rules on killing or not seem to be made on the fly and depending on what the situation demands at any moment.

Nah. Basically as long as their soul gets sent to CE, they don't consider it killing. Killing them before the soul can be sent on the other hand would be killing.

Drowning doesn't instantly kill someone. First they lose consciousness, then you've got a minute or two before you have to worry about brain damage. Plenty of time to use magic to pull the water out of their lungs leaving them all unconscious and weak, or just rip their souls out of their bodies and send them along.

I'm gonne agree with OverMaster here. Drowning as a non-lethal measure is feasible, but it's kind of a stretch. Hey, maybe Sextum is genre savvy enough to know killing someone in Negima is next to impossible anyway, and just wasn't worrying about it.

Perhaps the Averruncii were designed as the bypass. They enforce the law that you do not kill humans but hold the authorization themselves to perform the deed if it becomes necessary. Fate said it himself: "We are to refrain from pointless killing. If we don't limit our sacrifices to those necessary to achieve our purpose, we'll lose sight of our just goal."

I'll confess I took that from the volumes.

"Don't worry, I won't kill you. I'll just eternally rip the soul out of your body, leaving it a dead husk."

"But that is killing."

"Says who? Bring me a dictionary!"

"No one needs a dictionary to know killing is the act of interrupting all vital functions of a human being's body in an abrupt and sudden way!"

"That's where you're wrong! It won't be abrupt and sudden! It'll be slow and lingering!"

Pretty sure DKN117 is being sarcastic... At least I hope so...

Actually, I'm not. I deliberately avoid spoilered things until after I've actually read the chapter, and it does indeed look like

Spoiler for 312 & 313:

Spoiler for 312 & 313:
Yes, but there's also the unmistakable fact that
Spoiler for 1 - 311:

Past performance is no guarantee of future results, of course, but I'm not spoiling anything by saying that none of those people you mentioned is dead. For one thing, I'd be saying the exact same thing even if I hadn't seen the spoilers, and for another, with the obvious exceptions of badass, take a ton of damage fighters Kotaro and Kaede and robot Chachamaru, all of their "damage" took place off-screen. Even Nodoka got zotted right in the middle of a frame, and I don't see anybody in-universe acting as if she has any ailment beyond "knocked out". Certainly no one's been "vaporized". Even the guy who took a giant flaming sword through his ship, which then went asplode, only got petalled. They even took a few extra frames to make it extra clear that he had only gotten petalled, although by the Fates' own words, it seems clear that death by any manner would send a Magicus denizen to KE at this point.

Agreed. No one's going to die, or at the very least, not right now. There is always the chance in any series that at least one character might get a poignant death scene. But that'll be absolutely last chapter material.

The question then would be: Who?

Nagi and/or Takamichi have the largest death flags. No one in 3-A is at all likely to bite it, at least traditionally, even near the end of the series...

For the record, Kenny, it was a rhetorical question.

If anyone were to have a death scene I would think it would be Chisame, she was a side character at first but now shes grown into something really important to the series and especially to Negi. With her death it could cause a major bitch fit.
