I didn't want to rant or badmouth the series, I just wanted to express my opinion that the synopsis so far is really boring. Isn't the point of this forum to point out interesting series to others?
After reading the OP, this is more or less what went through my head, maybe the series is as good as you say, but right now I just don't get interested enough to actually go and read it.
If I read this kind of summary in a bookstore, I'd ut the book back and look for something else.
