Well Slime is actually ome of the very first reincarnate as non-human bring so I dont think this is kind of unoriginal
It one of the very first group that manage to reach to top of populality after all
Also said popular groups getting anime slower than common isekai so it might got hate more than it should due to the tag "Isekai"

So we had both SAO and Goblin Slayer come out today and this was still my favorite premiere this season.

have you seen Overlord? This series is kinda similar in that aspect.

I am eagerly waiting for ep 2, and going by the title, will there be a slayer of goblins? I hope not

I haven't seen a lot of that, but I think I understand the point, thanks. I think I will give it a try along the episode 2.

Harem? Yes, but not to the point say... highschool dxd or negima harem. The harem in this one is really tame and didnt bother me one bit.

The harem is more like "adore the mc" type of harem, so its more into the respect type of thing.

Also the fact that the mc is down to earth honest and kind person, it also help the harem to stay in minimum.

Episode 2:

I'm definitely getting more used to the slime's voice now. Veldora is still pretty damn amusing to watch with its personality and the way he reacted to getting his name.

Also got to see more of the slime demonstrating his abilities. He even got the name "Rimuru" this episode. I also find the amount of mechanics kinda interesting considering how much he can do as a slime. Also about time we meet some of the other adventurers in the world.

Goblins make their appearances too! We're getting more and more content introduced in this series which I think is cool.

Hope they also expand more on the world building.

I like the way they're handling the Great Sage. Just stating all the skills would be kinda boring, so those flashy little graphics are a nice visual distraction while it's expositing.

The expressions Rimuru keeps making are hilarious as well.

This is an awesome series so far, the progression is less obvious that I thought and I like it quite a lot. The whole skill acquiring stuff feels kind of satisfying almost like I am playing the character. Really cool idea.
Definitely my favourite together with Goblin slayer this season.

The power of a great animation can indeed turn a story that looks decent so far into one of the most charming experiences ever. In a sea full of horrible animated series and terrible rushed adaptations we get Slime being a joy to my eyes. I also love his expressions with the emotes and the big eye surprise face. It's really funny. And that freaking pokemon-like music creates a fantastic adventurous atmosphere while our mc explores the world and makes use of his Sage/Predator skills to get stronger. The little guy have the perfect combo with those abilities and the location where he spawned. I'm curious about his aura tho. Was that because of the dragon being inside him or his adventure in the cave by looting everything and colecting powerfull skills from vicious beasts created it?

Keep the good work 8-bit. This is being pure entertainment. And a big thumbs up for the author to have the balls in making an isekai without relying 100% on harem and fanservice to sell.

Well, that's one way to conquer a tribe of goblins! Definitely no goblin slayer here. I am sure the goblins will be less scrawny and ratty once they come under competent leadership. But first there are dire wolves to take care of. Can he impress them too? Or do they need to learn the hard way not to underestimate Super-Slime?

(Seriously, talk about good things in small packages! Good thing those adventurers did not mistake him for a common slime, or they would have been in big trouble.)

He's going to become a god just from absorbing and acquiring the skills from all the monsters in that cave. I was half right about that god part, that is quite the aura he now has because of all his work in the cave.
