If you mean the music which play when she fights then yes.

It's Credens justitiam.

The OST high quality version is out now though, it's in FLAC format. XD

I just love the main theme. >_< It makes me cry so much D:

And oh, I actually found Oktavia's theme somewhere in YouTube, it's here:

Plus with a DL link on the vid info. /o/

The first OST is pretty mellow, I kinda figured they'd save the more exciting tracks for the second OST though. Overall not bad, but the pieces are short, most of them are the filler music for transition scenes, etc. One thing I noticed is that some of the tracks have slight layers of songs from later in the show. For example track five, Clementia, and track twelve, Pugna cum Magna, have hints of Madoka's wish and Walpurgis fight music in them, respectively.

It's good stuff though. Can't wait for the second OST. ^^

Mami's theme is glorious!
Pugna cum Magna is sheer awesomeness. Otherwise the first OST is pretty light.

The OST gathers most transition scene BGMs indeed. Postmeridie is the best of them all, IMHO. And the rest of the OST is pure classics - Sis Puella Magica, Salvae Terrae Magicae, Gradus Prohibitus, Credens Justitiam, Terror Adhaerens, Pugna cum Maga... And the second OST promises to have even more of such tracks. Overall (and it's sensible to discuss the OST overall, since it's basically one album split in half), this is easily landing among Kajiura's best works.
I'm sad that we don't get Sayaka's theme right now, but oh well. Come on Sony, make it July, with BD Vol 4!

Hum...I don't think this will happen. There are many unreleased tracks by Kajiura from many previous works, and I believe that Madoka will be in this as well. She may release another The Works for Soundtracks, in which she released songs from Eat-man and so on, but I don't think she will do this anytime soon. For now, we can only wait to see if everything will be released or not.

I slowed down Mami's theme to sound like how it was in the first episode More elegant and the music lasts a little longer as well lol

While listening to the OST, I was suddenly reminded of the Xenosaga games.

Then I realised, oh it's the same composer.

Did the same. Considering the ratio between 48 khz and 44 khz (the famous mistake) the correct sample rate based on a 44 khz original should exactly be 40517 hz

Happened to me when I first started the series. I thought "Wow, this sounds similar to and as good as Pandora Hearts' soundtrack!"... sure enough...

Ahhh, interesting. Did you read that somewhere? I just read a comment on youtube to slow it down 9%. I just did your method too, and your's ends about a second earlier than the first method I tried.

It's bugging me that there are still some 20 tracks left. Why split the OST into uneven parts? Unless Sony does intend to leave out some tracks (and I want them all!)

Yes, that glorious track. And there's Credens Justitiam, too!
Oddly, Eri Itoh is the only vocalist credited in the booklet. Well, Gradus Prohibitus is probably featuring vocal samples. But as to Pugna cum Maga, it's most likely Yuki Kajiura herself we hear. She sometimes credits herself as Fion, and sometimers signs with her real name (mostly in the chorus), but this time she's ignored at all.
(if you have Madlax OST, you can check Fion's tracks like Open Your Box and Saints for comparison)

Yes, at some blog.

And if the sound card can natively process the adjusted sample rate then the quality should be better than just adjusting the speed (i.e. losing information in the transformation).

02 Salve, terrae magicae
03 Gradus prohibitus
04 Credens justitiam
05 Clementia
06 Desiderium
07 Conturbatio
08 Postmeridie
09 Puella in somnio
10 Umbra nigra
11 Terror adhaerens
12 Scaena felix
13 Pugna cum maga
My favourites are the first 4, and the very last one.
Mami's theme nearly had me in a seizure of happiness. Can't believe I'm listening to the real thing, and not a fan made version.

I just wish they'd release a separate cd for the OST's, so they would be easier to buy..
Went immediately to CDJapan today, but separate cd's for the OST aren't available.

Mami's theme gave me goosebumps the first time I listened to it. I see I wasn't the only one it had a physical reaction with.

and they will never be... unless Sony decides to pull off something like Kara no Kyoukai Best Collection (which is unlikely here).
Btw, is there any info on how BD Vol 2 is selling? I suspect bundling the OST followed the only purpose of increasing the BD sales, so I hope it will at least work.
