Sorry if this is a bit off-topic, but I don't know where else to ask this...has anyone done some sort of parody video yet where Dr. Nanjo has diabeetus?

I can't play Umineko without hearing Wilford Brimley's voice coming out of his mouth.

Now I can't play Umineko without hearing Wilford Brimley's voice coming out of his mouth. If I had the skills to make videos, I'd do it myself, but someone definitely needs to make something of this. I think it could be pretty funny if done well (IE not just some clips slapped together).

Don't get me wrong but I think that the honorifics should just stay in the original Japanese since it basically ruins the whole thing IMO. thats one of the problems I have with most fandubs.
Thank you for posting this here, I happen to be the producer of this fandub and I was just about to post it here myself XD

(just a little side note: I keep japanese honorifics in my scripts because they actually have a meaning, which I feel is rather important to keep intact and english honorifics just don't do it for me)

I don't mind honorific, but Battler calling her aunt "Rosa-chan" is wrong XD

Yeah I guess so..I mean it is your fandub and all and at least you pronounced it alright...and plus saying stuff like Ms. or Mr. is annoying to use especially in dubs...

I vote for honorifics should be gone at dubs, and only stay at subs. Honorifics are a must If you are translating japanese text (Of course, I'm talking about the movies, anime, manga and such)

But it somehow feels awkward, hearing "How are you Keiichi-kun" in English.

About this I've been wondering. The first time I came to know the existence of japanese honorifics was with the movie "the Karate kid" (1984). It is a story of a young boy who meets an old japanese man. Later that man becomes his "sensei" and teaches him Karate.

Now, I don't know how this was done in the original, but I remember clearly that the old man always addressed the young boy as "Daniel-san", and we are talking about an hollywood movie that was released worldwide in theaters.

Well, at least here in germany, Senora/Senior and Mister/Miss stay in the dubs if it was in the original. But these are well known words, and about san/kun/chan/etc stuff.. I'd have trouble finding people that don't watch japanese stuff knowing these things. But some producers leave them as they give a foreign and japanese feeling. (In Bollywood films I've never heard Indian terms for something like that..)
But I like dubs better without honorofics. The japanese names are already pronounced strange, please ;_;

If Umineko can reference Touhou, then we are able to turn the chessboard and produce:

Uhm, it's not the first dramatic scene commented by a joyful bgm I see XD, it makes you feel like the pow is completely insensitive toward the characters's pain and agony, creating a grotesque effect by contrast.

Like the OP of narutaru is all cutey and smiling even so the anime itself explores the depth of human cruelty.

Or like clockwork orange which shows violence while Rossini's ouvertures are playing
