Another idol anime.

Literally... Just that. If they are gonna include magic into the story, I think they should have added some fighting against monsters or something.

At this time, the magic only seems to be there as a "Hey, we have magic, so we aren't just another lazy idol project!"

First of the 3 new seasonal anime I watched first episode of so far. Very boring, ugly and forgettable, but still the best of the bunch yet. It did make me think about the earthsea books while watching, so I can't say there was nothing positive in watching it.

episode 1:

magic + idols. Hmm, interesting.

feeling blessed, I have another cute all girl show to follow. ^^

I think I'm going to watch this.
Of course I missed too many of these other generic looking types of anime.
But it feels like a chore to me.

Still series like HXEROS and Maou Gakuin left too much impact for me.
Sometimes, watching series like these two gives me a serious headache(not in a bad way) if your heart is not ready.
And this one is mild enough for me.

There are three ranks, in this school.
So, am I watching Yugioh GX again.
At least they still eat high quality food!

This reminds me of Re:Stage of a couple of season before, only with magic and more prettier. Have the same little plot of the little sister against older sister and fangirl of older sister hating the little sister.

Pretty much just another idol anime... They're literally just practicing highly explosive magic to be effing idols. Not enough cool action. In fact they should drop the idol thing and just become actual "witches" so we can have high octane survival battles against dangerous monsters. At this rate it's just an idol anime being an idol anime so yeah, I agree it's lazy.

Let's just put it this way.

We want an idol anime, because popular idol anime means lots of multimedia stuff which means lots of profit!

But there are so many idol anime! How will we make ours stand out?!

Oh yeah, magic!

And what do we get? This... demonic fusion of modern music, idols, Middle-Age European cities, and magic.
I think this mixture of literally two different ages is worse than say... animal girls and idols, for instance. I mean, even those suck though.


Then you ask me, then how would I make a good idol anime?

I can't imagine it. I guess start with a story that actually doesn't focus too much on the idol part.
Though I guess that doesn't mix well with the multimedia plans they have for the series if it succeeds.

I'm kinda saying the same thing I did for ep 1 and won't bother until the anime ends to say anything (since there won't be anything to even bother complaining about), but I just wanted to get it out there this mixture of genres isn't exactly great.

episode 2:

now, I have a bit more info on their situation. They need to get some points to avoid expulsion.

a little more bonding time for Rose and Tia. And also that's a nice dance at the end, so an "orchestra" in this anime means a dance performance.

There was already a large difference between their uniforms and the common cloths but those idol outfits look like they are from another world.

The show isn't bad or anything. It just isn't all that interesting. Just nothing that's really pulled me in across the first few episodes. Might just move on.

Also still amazes me that the best idol-type performances I've seen in anime across the past few years is in Symphogear. Idol performances in this show are just pretty bland. You'd think magic could do more than pretty simple particle effects.

episode 3:

that was a really fun Bump Ball game.

enhance physical abilities cast on Rose, seems to have a drawback of nausea.. so they cannot use it repeatedly.

skillful of Tia to use the grass to hit Emilia from behind. She got the respect of the top-ranked noire.

This anime feels like it's too subtle with its character development, and also, too spread out.

episode 4:

whoa, using underwear to wipe her face with. Tsubaki is intense.

Rose don't want other girl to call Tia as onee-chan.. hmm...

that's one dangerous forest they went into!

and lastly, I enjoyed the dance at the end. Watched it twice.

siscon Tsubaki oneechan is lucky that Champe is in this trip. Nice yuri moment in the chair -- interrupted when a frightened Emilia-tan drained them both.

back at the school. Why is Frieza the voice of that board game? xD

loli Rose is so kawaii.

episode 6:

Alpha tortured the doll with painful leg split. Which makes me wonder if she did that with real people before, because she knows how to do it! O_O

Garnet is a nice addition to the cast. One more friend for Emilia-tan. ^^
