Not only that, but the main cast appears to be completely gender balanced, a rare thing nowadays. Now with luck the male cast members will get a decent amount of focus throughout the series and not just towards the end.

I'm also hoping to see some adult characters play a significant role in this series. One thing I appreciated about Tari Tari was the significant role played by parents and teachers.

With Team Tari Tari behind this series, I wouldn't hold out much hope of that.

I'm not sure why everyone's citing Tari Tari, but this is a totally different main staff.

Creatively, Junji Nishimura (True Tears) would probably have the most influence, although it's worth noting that all of P.A. Works' original shows are conceived by studio producers.

Sort of with TJR on this, the "team" consists of two people and neither had a major role in its production.

Two things are for sure; we're gonna get some stunningly animated glass porn out of this, and a ridiculous amount of fisheye camerawork.
I disagree about Nagiasu, that thing is a total failure since the second half and as a original product it seriously is a bankrupt inducing investment I call a big loss of production budget.

Whatever, the staff isn't the same from Tari Tari so your indication is moot.

I think this is one of those times where it is not so much about our expectations of the staff, and more about the vibe that is reminiscent of Tari Tari...Glasslip brings to mind the PA Works of that "safe/gentle" SOL ilk.

The less NagiAsu this series will be, the better for me in my eyes. That series is the third worst PA Works TV series after Angel Beats and Red Data Girl. Too much focus on teen soap opera too little focus on the other elements that made it interesting in the first place. Never made much use of its premise and it pretended to be something it wasn't.

Tari Tari though never tried to be something it wasn't and because of that it was genuine as well being very well executed for what it was. It also had a tone and atmosphere that completely matches my preferences (didn't go too overboard in the romance love polygon drama territory), and if Glasslip is similar then I don't see any problems, at least for me.

Though after the full reveal of the production lineup, it doesn't even seem that much of the Tari Tari crew is involved.

Excellent though unsurprising news: nano.RIPE will be doing the ED. (What's that Pocari Sweat? I can't hear you over the sound of awesome coming from nano.RIPE.)

Also, Choucho's doing the OP.

nano.RIPE's music is a little hard on my ears, but I more or less like the song of theirs I'm familiar with ("more" for the Non Non Biyori and Hataraku Mao-sama openings; the Jinrui opening song is definitely on the "less" side of the scale). As for Chouchou, nothing but consistently great music there. Loved the opening themes for Hyouka and Kamisama no Memochou, and the openings for Mashiroiro Symphony and Fate/kaleid Liner were both very solid as well.

I second what Miraluka said

I adore Choucho. Gargantia's "Sora to Kimi no Message" was absolutely beautiful. Often I found myself looking forward to the ending just to hear that particular song!

nano.RIPE is all right, but I'm not jumping up and down about their involvement.

Oh Nano.ripe, well I wouldn't mind if the song was just an instrumental.

Go Choucho though.

Choucho <3
Emo.rape Nano.ripe </3 Though funny enough, these guys aren't that bad live based on that PA Works Joint Festival Concert.

I'm seriously flabbergasted how this show is going to get one of the best and one of the worst vocalists in the same anime .

Glasslip PV2

Despite this being a P.A.W show, I was a little on the fence until now, but after watching this long ass PV I'm all in. The show as usual looks great and it doesn't seem like it's a CC of Tari Tari, which was my biggest fear (no offense to that show; I loved it but I don't want another SoL).

When the female protag claims she can see the future, I can't tell whether she's being literal or figurative. Does this mean there are some supernatural elements in the show? Not sure what I feel about that. And the weirdest thing is that there isn't a single mention of glassmaking although I think I saw glass at one point in the PV. (Can she the future through the looking glass or something?)

This show looks so comfy. Definitely going to relax to this one like I did with Iroha.

Have they featured chickens prominently in anything since True Tears? If they have a visual fetish beyond scenery porn, it's trains. They're as bad as Makoto Shinkai.

Well, if it counts, there was an episode in Uchouten Kazoku where the Shimogamo family were eating KFC on Christmas day .

I do recall but totally forgot some scenes with chickens in them in a few shows though my mind atm is completely blank. Or maybe I'm completely wrong. Perhaps our resident chicken lover Archon_Wing may rehog my memory since he's always bringing it up

Hey man! I like scenery porn... and trains... and Makoto Shinkai. So anything that reminds me of him is a good thing. Though in terms of narrative and the way his studio and PA works tells a story are quite different - Shinkai is better.

As for the PV itself, looks like standard PA Works fair which means I will gobble it up .

Most likely a mixture of slice of life, drama, comedy and based on the phrases they said and my (very) limited understanding of Japanese speech seems like there is even a bit of romance. Shippers go away when the show airs though because I don't the thread bombarded by shipping talks, ok?! But I'm expecting (and hopefully) significantly less excessive melodrama or people bursting out in tears or get too entangled in adolescent romance ramblings. Partly because Okada is not involved in this and partly because the tone of that PV doesn't evoke it.

My one fear is that there was only a bit of glassmaking towards the end of the PV. But it seems to have a mixed cast (even though its inevitable that females are gonna get more attention than the males given the current industry) and I also don't recall PA works ever doing a pure "cute girls doing cute things" type of show, so it's probably going to have at least as much glassmaking as Tari Tari had the musical theme.

I really like visual style seems to be a bit of combination of the throwback watercolour artstyle used back in True Tears and the more contemporary vivid and lush artstyle of the Hanasaku Iroha x Tari Tari x Nagi no Asu kara era, and I'm assuming Junji Nishimura had a big influence on that discretion. In terms of the music, really liked the first half of the PV then I kinda wanted to mute the 2nd half (2min and onwards0... cause you know... Nano.ripe .
